Re: Jab's Rifts Builds (Mountain Giants! Worm Wraith! Dinosaurs!)

Kevin S is so weird about property laws that he thinks players aren't even allowed to stat up OTHER FICTIONAL CHARACTERS in Palladium stats (he thinks he'll be sued if fans do that), but I guess just savagely ripping something off doesn't count. He's odd. Almost every decision that Kevin S has made...

Re: Jab's Rifts Builds (Mountain Giants! Worm Wraith! Dinosaurs!)

First off, super impressed as always Jab! Like many people, I have a long-running love/hate relationship with Rifts, and have occasionally tried my own hand at converting it to M&M (though that campaign fell apart, like they do). Also, while I'm a fan of Savage Worlds, I'm not positive their Sav...

Re: Savage Rifts

I find it works fine so far. A few things handle different than you remember but it does balance characters a lot better than Palladium. Turns are certainly a lot quicker with less moving parts If anyone does fancy coming over, I'm playing in the 32nd Set game and we have a few spaces left as do al...

roll20, etc. interest?

This sort of thing got posted on the ATT from time to time. I'm not really into pbp, it just doesn't do it for me (that's not a criticism, just a personal preference). But, I have enjoyed my online role playing experiences, mostly on roll20, which is basically just a fairly lightweight web-based tab...

Re: Savage Rifts

I can't imagine anyone would mind. I personally have mixed feelings about the rules they built for Savage Rifts. The short version is that overall they're fine, but a bunch of the numbers end up ... problematic. And, that's a bummer for me since of all the things I want to fix/hack in a game, balanc...

Re: Possible Star Wars RPG Interest?

I don't mind per encounter abilities. Especially if they have a kind of recharge mechanic associated with them, which I think Saga did. That is, you could expend it, but take a combat action to gain it back. Overall, however, it was just the game struggling with the Jedis as space gods problem. A pr...

Re: Possible Star Wars RPG Interest?

I believe that the WEG edition had by far the best supporting materials and that the Revised Second Edition core book one of the most "newbie friendly" roleplaying books ever written. But, well, the system was more than a little convoluted and Jedi fell hard into the linear warriors, quad...

Re: Possible Star Wars RPG Interest?

WEG D6 version was my first ever star wars campaign with my Jedi Ana Tathis. several campaigns later it remains a favorite even with some of the fun I had in D20 Star Wars I liked WEG, especially their detail with the world. The books were a pleasure to read, especially at the time when there was a...

Re: Possible Star Wars RPG Interest?

I couldn't run one, but I would be very interested in playing in one! First of ... hi everyone! Second off, I'm in the same boat, here. I like the setting, especially a lot of the less explored aspects of it, but I don't really have any facility at coming up with plots for it. At least with superhe...
