Griffin's quite aware of that, and he knows its primary objective, the one thing it cannot take lightly: The preservation and safety of House Heterodyne.

The main reason he can sleep inside the Castle is due to a conversation he had with it. Mainly his saying that he understood the ways of the world outside Mechanicsburg, the world that Mechanicsburg had landed in. And that not allowing him to advise Aggie and her diplomatic corps in those ways could very well cause greater harm than it could protect her from.

It took Griffin swearing the Jagertroth before Aggie for the Castle to accept that at least he wouldn't mean her any harm. Lucky for him, swearing the Jagertroth doesn't actually require using the infamous Jagerdraught, but it does require loyalty to House Heterodyne.

Guys... as it looks like we may have a bunch of time on our hands... is anyone interested in taking the setting doc and starting a wiki ? Do we have enough material to start one ?

The link escapes me at the moment (it's on my home PC and I am still working for now...)

You also have to take into account satellite dish security. If they can broadcast in, then the signal can be hacked as well. It's something they will have to watch out for.

The Merge brought with it many dangers...but a lot of good, too.
For example, Corona is not a thing in the Merged universe. The initial outbreak in China was quelled thanks to the actions of the Accomplished Perfect Physician, member of the Great Ten.
It never went beyond China's borders.

My question. With all of the available medical technology, would people like Darth Vader take the opportunity to get proper medical care and potentially get out of their Iron lungs? I mean heck, even if Earth is a relative back water mud-ball, it's medical tech is second to none and their military might is quickly catching up to galactic standards.

I don't think Vader would go for that. He doesn't really need to. His reliance on his breathing apparatus might be seen as a hindrance but then again, is it really? Not to mention the fact that it's been suggested that he is partially sustained through the Dark Side as well as tech.

Also, don't forget that the tech in Star Wars is highly advanced. It just looks old-fashioned.

He could still keep the look, hell, I would if I were in his shoes, but get the insides taken care of and maybe the suit upgraded so he doesn't have a vulnerability to lightning. Because all of the suit stuff was really to drive home how much a slave Vader was to Palpatine.

If he was smart, he'd quietly get the upgrades in preparation for his eventual backstabbing, like all good little sith do in order to advance to master.

Well, if he were to go that route, he could go to the Mechanicum and coerce or bribe them into upgrading him. The tech looks similar but the Mechanicum's devices are usually a lot more powerful.

The Island of Sodor:

Languages Spoken: British English.
Currency: Pound Sterling
Age of Majority:18.
Drives on the: Left.
Mains Voltage: 220~240V, 50hz.
Major Exports: Agricultural products, China clay, fish, lead.
IEC Plug Type: G
Demonyms: Sudric, Sudrian

The Island of Sodor appeared off the coast of Mainland Britain in 2015, just a few hundred feet away from the Isle of Man, replacing Walney Island which was close to the mainland.

There are remnants of the ancient language of Sudric, which remind Earth-Prime linguists of the nearby Manx and Welsh languages.

The railways of Sodor are, of course, world-famous for their sapient train engines and carriages. The motto of the North West Railway, the largest railway on the Island: "Nil Unquam Simile", Latin for "There's nothing quite like it." And they have certainly proven their point. Train enthusiasts visit the Island from all over the world to see these trains in action.

The Island held a local referendum in 2017 to settle its post-Merge status once and for all. The choices available to Sudrians were "Declare Independence", "Petition to Join the Isle of Man", "Petition to Join the United Kingdom as a Home Nation" or "Petition to Join the United Kingdom as a County of England". The referendum ended with a 70%+ majority voting to join the UK as a Home Nation. As of 2020, Sudrians are British Citizens, the same as any Englishman, Welshman, Scotsman or Northern Irishman.

Due to joining the UK peacefully (like Scotland did in the 18th century), Sodor is allowed to maintain its own government and legal system. The laws are similar to those of England and Wales at the moment, but this is subject to change. One notable addition is to the National Rail Conditions of Travel, the rules that passengers in Britain must adhere to in order to ride any train. If a crime is committed on a train on the Island, it is investigated and tried where necessary under Sudric jurisdiction. The notable exception is if it is committed on a train serving Barrow-In-Furness (which has the only rail services to Sodor from the mainland) or on the Jubilee Bridge. In which case, it is investigated and tried where necessary under English jurisdiction.
A precedent exists concerning train services serving England and Scotland, where if the train's route stops in any English station, a case there falls under English jurisdiction, while trains with a route that runs entirely within Scotland are a purely Scottish matter.

Notable Figures of the Island of Sodor:

Sir Robert Norramby: The Earl of Sodor (whose title is now recognised by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II) lives in Ulfstead Castle. His estate is one of the largest on the island, including the castle, a mine and the only individually-owned railway on the Island. Sir Robert uses the Castle grounds to host outdoor events. He was an explorer in his younger days and, as a way of helping the next generation, he has donated a building and land in Knapford to the Pathfinder Society, allowing them to form their Lodge of the Isles on the Island.

Sir Topham Hatt V: The "Fat Controller" - as some call him - is in charge of the North West Railway, which runs most of the passenger routes on the Island. He is like a father to his employees, man and machine alike.

Notable Locations on the Island of Sodor:

Arlesburgh: This ancient walled town is popular as a place to stay while exploring the Island. Ferries from the harbour serve Douglas on the Isle of Man, and it's an excellent yachting harbour for those who cannot berth at Douglas or Suddery. You can see Douglas from there on most days.

Brendam: The docks here are one of the largest fishing ports in Britain, and the only ones on the Island capable of berthing cargo freighters and ocean liners.

Knapford: The NWR headquarters is situated here, as well as the largest railway station on the island. It now hosts the Pathfinder Society's British Lodge, the building and land for which was donated by Sir Robert Norramby, Earl of Sodor. Ferries from the harbour now serve Dublin in the Republic of Ireland. Knapford also hosts the Sodor Roadways Bus Yard and Station, a major stop for the buses serving the Island.

Peel Godred: This walled town hosts the main power station, aluminium works and the Sodor Regiment of the British Army.

Sodor Airport: Flights from this airport serve Dublin in Ireland and various European cities. Charter flights are also available. A brief charter flight from here around the Island is a method favoured by the local Pathfinder Society to find out for certain which members are susceptible to airsickness.

Suddery: Capital of the Isle of Sodor, the Island's archives and its cathedral are located here. The coastal town also holds the largest marina on the Island, often called "the Cowes of the North" by yachting fans.

Tidmouth: The financial and industrial centre of the Island, and the location of the North West Railway sheds where the steam engines sleep at night. It is tied with Knapford for the largest town on the Island. It now hosts the location of the largest telephone exchange on the Island, as it races to reconnect to the mainland. The beach here is a popular summer destination. It also hosts a harbour popular with fishermen.

In Vicarstown/Vickerstown, the Jubilee Bridge links the Island by road and rail to the English town of Barrow-in-Furness on the British mainland. The bridge has no footpath, but railway services and 24-hour Sodor Roadways bus services are available, which serve both towns. Vicarstown is the name used by Sudrians, Vickerstown is the name used by the Britons who lived on Walney Island, before it Merged with Sodor. The town also hosts the Island's dieselworks.
