The Party Girl, sometimes seen as the Raver or the Valley Girl. The Party girl is a common character trope in teen and young adult series. A young woman with a taste for the nightlife who constantly indulges herself in blatant hedonism and other vacuous pastimes. Because of her disreputable behavior the Party Girl is often a negative character type, being a bad role model and serving as an example of what mindless indulgences can lead to. Occasionally they are friends to the protagonist, in which case their bad behavior is either reduced in severity or, in some cases, portrayed in a positive light as a lifestyle to aim towards.

In many media the Party Girl is a young attractive woman who visits clubs and sleeps around, indulging in many other vices (sometimes doing drugs in more mature shows). When in a more child friendly setting her vices and indulgences are toned down, usually just being a love of having fun and maybe a bit of gluttony. Needless to say the promiscuity of the character is dropped like a sack of bricks. Positive portrayals have the Party Girl as a close friend, if somewhat flaky ally, who wants to make their friends lives more enjoyable by sharing their lifestyle. More negative portrayals often have the Party Girl as a minor antagonist that's usually part of the bully clique and a personality similar to the Schoolgirl Nemesis.

The Thespian; also known as the Drama Member, the Actor, The Artist, The Stage Magician, The Charlatan, etc. They are a common character archetype that covers a range of creative performer. Similar to the Fashionista and Idol they are usually a support character that lends their special skills to assist the main character out in situations where social finesse or emotional impact is more important.

The Thespian is an actor, a performer, and a socialite, someone who is skilled in various skills needed to be the best at their passion. Dancing, singing, costume design, etc. They put a lot of hard work, blood, sweat, and tears into their performance and seek to show the world the fruits of their labor and bask in the attention it has brought. They are often more than a little vain, over dramatic, and a bit posh. Despite this they are usually an ally to the main character, or at worst just a minor nuisance that's ultimately neutral.

In play The Thespian usually comes in groups, an acting troupe, pooling together multiple effects at once so each can focus on what they do best. Individually they are somewhat weak, but together they are a formidable force.

Re: WAIFU WARZ - WEEB ACADEMY NPCs - PARTY GIRL STEPS ONTO THE THE DANCE FLOOR

Post by squirrelly-sama »

It's been a while since I did some Weeb Academy builds and it turns out I had a bunch of mostly finished builds sitting in my portfolio that I was just too lazy to fill out the details on. A few edits and tweaks were needed but it's all looking good.

First we have the Cool Senpai, de-leveled from PL7 to PL5 to fit with the Weeb Academy baseline. Made a mistake converting it and didn't actually change the PP amounts I allowed for allocations like an idiot but it was a quick, if unfortunately dirty, fix. There's still a couple more older ones in need of adjustment but given that they don't quite fit the "Slice of Life" feel of the rest of the Weeb Academy might end up being a separate set from the NPCs.

Second is Party Girl. Originally I was going to just make it Pinky Pie from MLP but after looking up art I changed my mind and went with a more adult approach to the concept. She's going the club to get laid, then she's going to get laid again, then she's going to down a bottle of vodka and get laid some more, because that's what she's all about; getting fucked.

The Thespian is strange one, I kept bouncing back and forth between it an a stage magician but decided to just settle on an Actor. They're the drama club members you often see in teen movies and shows, the weirdos dressed in frilly tights constantly quoting Shakespeare. They vary a bit in depiction, but generally fit the mold of drama geek.

There's still a few left I'll get to later: The Cutie, the Cadet, and the Kid Detective.

I must admit I haven't seen the "Party Girl" used as much (especially the more adult aspects), but I haven't watched current anime in ages. Any particular examples in notable stuff?

It's usually teen drama aimed at college aged viewers. The THOTs, sorority girls, or vapid side chick of some "cool" hustler sort of character. It's the slutty friend from any show about chicks in the big city, the random background girls in the party scene of any teen movie, the terrible influence cousin from out of town that's visiting the straight laced female lead for an episode.

They show up a bit more in anime though are a bit changed. They are Gyaru, Ganguro, and Manba (in ascending orders of extremeness) that represent a sort of party/rebellion culture in the female youth. Gyaru (slang for "Gal") is basically the Japanese take on the Valley Girl, they were cute but often inappropriate clothing, wear an abundance of jewelry, a lot of make up, speak very informally, take selfies, etc. Gyaru tends to be less extreme in how far they go, generally just your typical high school valley girl and not "Future star of COPS". Like an understandable phase that the kid will grow out of. There's even a shoujo manga called Gals which is about a group of young girls, "kogals" younger Gyaru that accessorize their school uniforms, who just do teen girl things like shopping and junk and is just a slice of life manga.

Ganguro is a bit more extreme in it's fashion, characterized by the very deep artificial tan and heavy Kabuki-like make up and insane hair dyes. The Manba and Yamanba take it further and look like an anime convention vomited over Mardi Gras.

Oh, the "Kogal" thing I've definitely heard of- I went scouring through "Gal" culture stuff on Wikipedia and my A Geek in Japan book. They're truly bizarre at points, especially with the Ganjuro girls overly tanning their skin and using bright blonde hair and such. I hadn't seen much influence of that in manga & anime myself, but it makes sense that it's for older audiences, considering many of the types of "gals" are seen as promiscuous.

WAIFU WARZ - HOLOLIVE ~MYTH~ - VTuber Info and Lore Dump

Introduction:

Image
Kizuna Ai, the First V-tuber

If you've been on the internet anytime since 2019 you've probably at least heard of the concept of V-tubers otherwise been exposed to them. A VTuber, Virtual Youtuber, is an online entertainer who uses an Anime-styled virtual avatar generated using computer graphics and motion capture software. A digital trend that originated in Japan in the mid-2010s, a majority of VTubers are Japanese-speaking YouTubers or live streamers who use anime-inspired avatar designs. While the concept isn't entirely new, as there have been youtubers with animated avatars the introduction of Motion Capture and, to a lesser extent, the focus on Streaming was what separated V-tubers from them into their own category.

The first entertainer to use the phrase was Kizuna Ai, of Project AI, in 2016 who adopted the persona of being an AI that became self aware and wished to become an Idol. Her popularity was the spark that ignited the trend in Japan, eventually leading to the creation of agencies to create and promote Virtual Talents such as Nijisanji and Hololive. As with many anime affiliated it was quickly picked up by the west among the online otaku-culture, leading to many fan translated clips and a strong overseas fanbase for many talents in the early days of the trend. As the roster of talent grew so too did the fan bases overseas eventually leading to the creation various overseas branches with official English language branches being introduced by Hololive in 2020 which quickly took off in popularity as the removal of the language gap and need for translations made the community much easier to enter allowing the trend to take off into the mainstream.

The Culture
Vtubers are more than just a streamer with a virtual avatar, there are many tropes and trends that surround them and their medium. In terms of appearance, Vtubers trend towards being female with cute or elegant looking avatars in a variety of anime-esque styles. The most common and popular type of used is 2D with only minor movement and predefined expressions that can switched between to illustrate a given mood as they help maintain the user's image and avoid oddities like clipping parts or other issues with motion tracking, though 3D avatars are more popular in the West for more expressions and greater freedom to gesture or pose (though some do keep both to switch between such as the Japan Hololive branch).

The talent often adopts a persona and history along with with their stage name, playing the role of more fantastical characters instead of being a simple streamer. Kizuna Ai, the first Vtuber and origin of many of their tropes, modeled herself after the concept of Vocaloids which were a musical program that created artificial voices to sing songs that crafted whole characters with their own lore for each voice available. Other Vtubers took similar approaches, adopting the identity of things such as Dryads, Phoenixes, Angels, fantasy knights, or time travelers and craft lore and backstories for this character. But while they do play a character they are, for the most part, being themselves while streaming and so mix the two together as they share their real past and stories of their daily life with occasional twists to make it fit with their character.

With the establishment of Talent Agencies to promote, create, and support Vtubers the act started to adopt parts of Idol culture and business. Vtubers were considered as Talents, they debuted in groups or were added to existing groups, and there was a greater emphasis on the ability dance and sing as "Live" concerts came into existence. They began to adopt terminology and values of Idols, referring to retirement as "Graduation", having stricter guidelines on what they can do, and being given managers to help train them and filter out undesirable elements around them. Thankfully due to the anonymity granted by acting behind an avatar their personal lives weren't managed as strictly however they were still beholden to contracts that controlled who they reveal their identity to and their persona was considered the property of the Agency rather than that of the entertainer. This has lead to a few controversies in how certain things were handled by companies, notably Hololive which had two major gaffs when it came to firing one of their talents early on due to a breach of contract and later for suspending two very popular and beloved VTubers they managed due to Chinese pressure over mentioning Taiwan on their stream.

Hololive
Hololive is one of the two major agencies that manage Vtubers in Japan, the other being Nijisanji. Of the two Hololive is generally considered the most popular in the west. While Hololive treats their talents more like Idol groups Nijisanji treats them more like individual youtubers which leads to very different types of content and fanbases. Hololive is a lot more structured with fewer Talents but a greater focus on quality (such as singing, artistic skills, and put more polish on editing and non-stream content) while Nijisanji has far more members with greater freedom and longer streams that are more individualistic rather than acting in groups.

COVER corp is the parent company of Hololive Productions, It was founded by Motoaki Tanigo (YAGOO) on June 13, 2016. Its focus was on development of VR and AR applications/software prior to founding Hololive and becoming involved with Vtubers. The provided software to many early Vtubers, including some of their future talent, before eventually being approached about starting the an agency that would focus on managing "Virtual Idols". Motoaki, or YAGOO, had stated having had a dream of wanting to start an Idol group in an interview. QnA sessions with staff and early talent reveals that the idea had been the brain child of the then independent Vtuber Tokino Sora and her manager (Only refereed to as A-chan) who used COVER's software to act as VTubers and saw an opportunity for advancement. And so Hololive was created September 17, 2017, debuting with just Tokino Sora to an audience of just 13 viewers and creating a phone app that named the division as Hololive in December.

They eventually went on to start recruiting talented independent V-tubers (Roboco, Miko, and Suisei) to fill out their ranks while training up and creating their own VTuber groups. They initially had several divisions within Hololive, such as HoloStars for male talent and INNK for musicians but all branches were eventually merged though are still categorized by Generation in order to establish clear groups and teams that often collaborate together. They currently have 5 Generations as well as Indonesian and English branches that both have their own individual Generations.

Fanbase
VTubers have taken off, quickly becoming one of the major Youtube presences and making their rounds on the internet for one thing or another. There are many detractors, some disliking the format as it doesn't suit their tastes and others simply taking offense to the content for one reason or another. But regardless they are now a major part of internet culture, growing rapidly thanks to the rise of independent entertainment during the first wave of COVID lockdowns and are unlikely to go anywhere anytime soon.

Fans have gathered around favorite VTubers, Groups, or even entire Agencies to enjoy their content and create their own. For the most part the fan communities for VTubers are fairly benign, especially compared to other fandoms, with a more peaceful approach to many things that tend to divide fandoms such as shipping or offensive content. Most controversies or schisms are usually due to outside interference from "Antis" attempting to get rid of the content or VTubers or from the companies decisions more than the actions of the Talents themselves. Great care has been taken by the Agencies to try and avoid most common controversies, with the approach generally working fairly well with only a few hiccups and little blowback for heavy handedness.

Hololive in particular has a rather thriving fanbase and community that revolves around the girls, with many unspoken rules to keep it civil. Something helped by the fact many of the Talents are active parts of their communities beyond just streaming. Many are regular posters or moderators on their fansites and Reddits, create art of their fellow members, and most of the later generations were even originally just another part of the community before joining. Because of this close relationship between fan and entertainer the community tends to be rather well behaved and listen to the requests of the Talents for anything serious.

There's a lot of fan content about the Talents, a lot of fan art of them, remixes of songs or themes they play, and of course speculation of their lore. As generations of Hololive went on their fabricated backstories became more and more detailed and outlandish. While early Talents were simply just things like "Is a Foxgirl" or "Is robot" later generations started to craft lore about how their character joined Hololive and creating potential connections to other girls. "A Yakuza dragon who crashed into the building and is repaying their debt" was one such advancement, with fans building on it by linking her to her roommate and follow talent or theorizing that it was all a plot by the Time Traveler, or that she was fleeing from the Lady Knight and her adventurer party. Manga and fanart would inevitably created to illustrate these fan theories and share them with the world, and often times they make their way back to the Talent themselves who may "Confirm" it or explain details for how it's just a little off.

Memes
As with many fandoms there's a lot of internal memes that tend to paint how the characters are scene or give context to fan content. While the girls have their own unique memes there are a few ones that are universal for Hololive talent. Here's a brief overview of common memes that are commonly encountered when dealing with Hololive content:
  • Alignment/The Chart - Refers to the Talent's placement on the hololive Alignment chart which measures the girls' Wholesomeness vs their Intelligence and jokes about the expectations of the fans on how girls will initially seem "Pure" or smart and quickly reveal themselves to be crazy, horny, or dumb. Many parodies of the Chart have been made after a stream of one girl or another "Breaking" it or rapidly changing places due to some recent action.
    • Bottom Left - While the Axis can be changed there is a universal constant in the chart, and that is Bottom Left. The location for the least wholesome and most stupid and is the subject of many jokes about one of the girls either joining it or escaping.
  • All Girls are Best Girl - One of the unspoken rules of Hololive is that there is not "Best" talent, while you may have a favorite she's not better than any of the other girls. It's a bit of self policing that keeps the community peaceful and prevent toxicity. Generally the community refuses attempts to rank the popularity or enjoy-ability of the Talent, The only exception are YAGOO jokes.
  • Big Kusa/Japanglish - Due to the prevalence of overseas viewers, and the actions of Kiryuu Coco reaching out to them, there's a lot of strange mixing of east and west when it comes to memes which often leads to horribly corrupted slang that mixes the two languages in the cringiest of ways and the source of many memes and a way for fans to tease the talents by annoying them (often native Japanese speakers or bilingual) with phrases like "YametekuroStop", "Big Kusa" or otherwise intentionally mangling phrases and spelling. This has gone both ways as Japanese fans have taken to using Katakana characters to spell out entire foreign sentences or mixed Kanji with english lettering or pronunciations to confuse others.
  • Fan Representations - Fans and members are often represented during streams with Talent specific names and generic avatars that they often use in memes to represent themselves. These are usually one of the cute pet critters that decorate the Talent's default streaming set.
  • Kaicho - Kiryu Coco was one of the pioneers in getting English branches and often participated in oversea fan sites and displayed foreign memes in her streams which earned her a lot of respect and veneration from fans. Her actions and presence are usually referenced along with many of the skits she started such as "Meme Review", "Asacoco", and her propensity to use gratuitous english swear words innuendo and sex jokes. She was given the moniker "Kaicho" or "Boss", and her Graduation from Talent to staff member is still talked about among fans.
  • Seiso - Refers to the wholesomeness or purity of the talent. This is a measure of many things, most often it's the perceived innocence of the Talent with more childlike ones seen as Seiso. It's also used to reference their calming aura or maturity for more serious, laid back, or mature talents. It could also just be seen as the sanity of the member and lack of exceptionally unsettling acts.
  • Threat Rating - Another fanmade reference chart meant to rank the Hololive girls based on their danger rating that is often referenced or argued about. Many of the girls have lore granted powers or abilities that are dangerous while others are seen as terrifyingly competent or merciless and a few have natural IRL talents that give them a threatening reputation among fans and fellow talents.
  • Yabai!/Yabe! - A phrase used when a talent does something unsettling or inappropriate and often used as an adjective to describe such actions. It's often used when a Talent makes a lewd joke, gives an accidental innuendo, or does something exceptionally unsettling for their usual actions.
  • Yagoo/Yagoo's Dream - Yagoo, the owner of COVER and Hololive stated he had a dream of managing an Idol Group like AKB and this often comes up in jokes when the Talents do something inappropriate, taking the form of some out of context line or screenshot with a black and white picture of a depressed Yagoo. Western fans have taken to him, often joking about him being "Best Girl" and include him in a lot of fan content.

Gawr Gura is a Shark/Human hybrid who is a member of first generation of the Hololive ENG division. She is among the most well known members of Hololive as a whole, being recognized even among non-fans due to the social media attention she got when the English branch was announced. Despite backlash from twitter and twitch she ended up debuting to a huge audience that quickly grew to the point she is among the top in total subscribers for VTubers as a whole. There was much twitter and twitch outrage once information about her donation amounts were calculated which estimated her regular income as being several thousand dollars per stream. Despite this nothing came of it other than some salty twitch thots and a lot of dank memes roasting them.

Gura is energetic and a mischievous prankster who often messes around with her fellow MYTH members on stream and during collab events. She is usually treated like a child or younger sibling by her fellow members, undergoing a lot of teasing and jokes at her expense. Despite this she is one of the more friendly members of the crew and often helps out others of her own accord and tends to give presents to other hololive members. She is notoriously bad at math, often failing even basic addition and tends to get lost easily giving her a reputation as being a bonehead ("Heart of gold; Head of Bone"), regardless of her failings she is still fairly clever and often finds creative solutions to puzzles or other problems. She is a very talented singer, regularly having Karaoke streams and occasionally coming out with original songs. She is an avid gamer, streaming a wide variety of games from horror to sandbox but has a preference and talent for Rhythm games.

Common memes about Gura include the lack of bottom teeth her avatar has or other ways her image conflicts with her lore such as floaties being drawn on her swimsuit art. A common joke reference to her that crops up is just posting the letter "A", coming about due to her first Twitter post being just the letter "A" and cemented when technical difficulties in her debut stream lead being late and the image just being a still of Gura until she was able to fix it and tested it out with an "A" sound after over an hour. Her relationship with her fans is teasing one, with her chat usually poking fun at her fails, but also a caring one as she often shares personal stories of her childhood or daily life where the fans usually react with concern when she offhandedly mentions her poor eating habits or sloven lifestyle.

Lore
In terms of official lore, Gura is a Gura Shark and former resident of Atlantis who left to explore the world for tasty treats. Fans have expanded this with theories on why she left, what happened to Atlantis, and exactly what a "Gura Shark" is. She's often paired with Amelia Watson or, to a lesser extent, Ninomae Ina'nis due to frequency in collabs and thematic parallels respectively. Lorewise she's usually a friend of Watson, playing with the tragedy of her being incredibly long lived compared to a normal human like Watson but somewhat mitigated by Watson's use of time travel to be more like an long distance relationship. Her relationship with Ina varies among fans, often being seen as long time acquaintances having met while Gura was still an Atlantian. Gura herself is often portrayed a bit tragically in lore, being a long lived entity but one who is still mortal unlike the rest, and also comparatively weaker when compared to the abilities of her GenMates which include a Grim Reaper, an immortal phoenix, an eldritch abomination, and a time traveler. Atlantis is a subject of much speculation, often it's a mysterious part of Gura's past and long since destroyed, with Gura being it's last survivor.

Lore specific to this build revolves around the fan comics by Angry Num (artist of the second image). Gura is a former Atlantian with amnesia working with Amelia Watson as a bodyguard and looking for information about her old home. The two are seeking out other strange beings to form a group under the orders of a mysterious organization that acts through intermediaries (Staff members) seeking to form a coalition of these mysterious entities.

Complications
Motivation - Thrills: Watson wishes to explore the timeline and live in interesting times. The current timeline has caught her attention and so she has decided to spend most of her time there.
Power Loss - Kronii's Pocket Watch: Rather than being a product of her own ability Watsons Time Powers are a result of her Pocket Watch, a unknown magical device that lets her manipulate her own timeline and wander the timeline. The origins of this watch are unknown but it is suspected to have been empowered by Ouro Kronii.
Quirk - Bottom Left: Watson is very open about her attraction and often hits on anything with a pulse and two legs, with those limits being something she'd drop in a moment. She has a fetish for older women, particularly the mothers of her friends and fans.
Temper - Gremlin: Prone to Rage Quites and always willing to throw down with whoever is on the other end of the mic Watson is a true toxic gamer. She will constantly taunt and insult foes, engage in wanton destruction, and cares more about ensuring others lose than winning herself.

Catch Phrases:
Verbal Tick: *Hic*

Amelia H. Watson, officially listed as Watson Amelia (ワトソン・アメリア), is a time traveling detective. Her name is often shortened to Ame, though has often been called by her last name by her gen-mates. Ame is a very active member of the ENG branch, being one of the more expressive and kind members who is often helping her gen-mates with various issues. She is the most tech savvy of the English branch, often troubleshooting technical issues for her friends which has earned her a positive reputation and started jokes about her giving "Tech Tips". She is also a bit mischievous and tends to play pranks and tease her fellow Talent and Gen-mates with lewd jokes and innuendo filled humor. Her jokes often reference or make use of internet memes and humor, including slightly more obscure memes giving her a more credible image as a "Gamer" and net denizen. Her streams are often gaming based, with her favorite types of games being competitive and FPS such as Apex Legends.

Despite her friendly attitude Ame also has another side that often comes out when she plays PvP that is referred to as "Gremlin Mode". She becomes increasingly greedy, cruel, overly defensive about her actions, very critical of the actions of her team, and very very salty. Her toxic behavior, such as shit talking opponents and screaming obscenities into the microphone, while playing competitively has lead to jokes about her being a "True Gamer". Though it is important to note that this doesn't detract from her positive traits but rather makes her streams quite unpredictable and very interesting to watch.

Ame's sense of humor trends towards lewd, often she makes innuendo to varying degrees of severity. She also frequently makes jokes about wanting to sleep with someone's mother, to the point that she has flirted with other member's mothers when they appear on their streams for special events. One of her more popular jokes is to do with "Ground Pounds", often referring back to it like a catch phrase when talking about something suggestive. She is also closely associated with a chibi fan art version of herself, referred to as Smol Ame, that often makes appearances in fan creations as a representation of her. This association became closely entwined with her persona, used by herself in many thumbnails and has even spread to her gen-mates (though none are so closely linked as herself) and resulted in a popular Fan made game in the community called "Smol Ame" where you play as Smol Ame in a platformer where you explore various worlds themed around the Hololive talent. Of course your method of attack is via "Ground Pound". Ame is also known to frequently hiccup while on stream, leading to being used as a Verbal Tic similar to those used by JP members.

Lore
Ame's origins are those of a normal human detective and time traveler, her original timeline being left up to speculation. She often drawn with guns and displaying great proficiency in their use as a reference to her FPS skills. Her costume includes some odd elements that are speculated on, such as the inclusion of a stethoscope and a pair of syringes filled with mysterious blue fluid strapped to her legs. Speculation about the syringes range from them being some form of poison, medication, and sometimes jokes about them being drugs and her being a drug dealer (a joke she adopts by frequently making drug humor jokes and even playing as a Drug Dealer in a WoD game). She is also drawn with a stopwatch as part of her costume, which has lead fans to theorize it's the source of her Time Traveler abilities. Similarly many important events in Hololive lore are speculated to involve her in some way. A popular one being she was the one who caused Coco to crash into the hololive building as a sort of closed Time Loop.

She tends to be paired with Gura and Ina due to natural chemistry with both and collaborating with them more frequently than other members of Holo En. Her relationship with Gura often has elements of tragedy due to the difference in life span, though mitigated by Ame's ability to travel through time it's still often shown they'd have to spend extreme amounts of time separated to synchronize their life spans. Her relationship with Ina is often based on a combination of their senses of humor (Lewd puns) or Lovecraft and horror themes. With HoloEn gen 2 introducing a girl who's stated to be a manifestation of time itself Ame's relation to her has been speculated on heavily. Kronii is usually portrayed as somewhat antagonistic in fanart of the two of them, either coming to punish Ame for meddling with time, stealing her watch, or some sort of dislike for time travelers.

Ame is also well known for her stories about her childhood and family which are often rather morbid, dark, or grotesque. A common theme being that she often injures herself to the point of drawing blood or needing to go to the hospital. Her mother was once held for ransom, she was almost kidnapped as a child, and her family line was cursed by a gypsy for her grandmother's promiscuity and home-wrecking ways.

In regards to this build the lore it takes reference from is that of the fancomics of Angry Num and a fan animations by Mazumaro found here. Ame is a young girl displaced from her natural timeline after coming into contact with a mysterious watch that lets her control her own personal timeline. She was recruited into HoloMyth by Enma-chan in order to gather a group of more mysterious beings with the goal of establishing that can fight the powerful threats that endanger the world. Here she met Gura, similarly recruited who acts as her body guard and muscle as they explore and try and unravel the mysteries needed to achieve their goal.

Ame is of course a normal human, and comparatively squishy despite being on the same PL as Gura and I tried my best to represent this mechanically without lowering her PL or making her to janky. A lot of her abilities focus around support or utility, only having her Gun for offense and relying on her powers for defense.

Post by Jabroniville »

The whole "Stream" culture just manages to completely elude me. Like one of those things where you find out someone is apparently massively famous and wealthy and I have never heard of them before, lol. Someone mentions a "Pewdiepie" and I have no idea what it means.

That said, I do a LOT of watchthroughs of people playing video games, particularly when I did a "Video Games" set of builds, so I appreciate to a degree someone commenting on stuff. But seeing a guy's face in the corner while he makes random noises and catchphrases, then rakes in the money? Well, it means they changed what "it" was, and what's "it" is now confusing and scary to me.

The notion of a "Vtuber" (do they also play video games? Like, what are they streaming?) is even stranger, because I don't get any real part of it. I guess just... being closer to an anime character you like, because you can see them and interact with them in real-time?

Complications
Curse Sworn - Grim Reaper: For all her kindness and empathy Calli is still a Reaper and beholden to the responsibilities therein. She must respect the Cycle of Reincarnation and the balance of Life and Death, interfering unduly or neglecting her duties can cause great disturbances in the system that can have devastating effects on reality.
Mythic Weakness - Strange Aeons: As a physical incarnation of Death Calli's existence is deeply tied to Creation itself. Because of this she is especially vulnerable to Outer Beings and Aberrations which exist outside the bounds of Creation, as their presence corrupts and unravels reality around them. Her powers are less effective against them and stronger ones can bypass her defenses completely.
Quirk - Dork: Calli is somewhat awkward and a bit paranoid. She tends to be easy to trick, is prone to accidents, and trips over her own words.
Relationship - Kiara: Kusotori, as Calli prefers to call Kiara, is an immortal phoenix who she often spends time with. Calli is close friends with her but is the subject of her nonstop flirting and innuendo. While she often rejects Kiara's over the top advances she remains close enough to her to visit hotsprings together.

Official Bio: The Grim Reaper's first apprentice. Due to modern medical care causing a decline in the reaping business, Calliope decided to become a VTuber to harvest souls instead. It seems that the ascended souls of the people who are vaporized by the wholesome interactions between VTubers go to her as well. That being said, despite the image her hardcore vocals and manner of speech gives off, she's actually a gentle-hearted girl who cares greatly for her friends.

Common Nicknames: Dad, Calli, The Reaper, the Rapper, Mori Cantaloupies.

Calliope Mori, officially listed as Mori Calliope (森カリオペ), is a Reaper and a Rapper, a rapping reaper and a reaping rapper. Her fans and gen-mates often refer to her as Calli. While giving off the appearance of cool, calm, and collected elegant woman Calli is far more meek, awkward, and panicky than she appears to be. Calli is a sweet-voiced girl with a gentle personality but tends to talk about morbid topics with little hesitation. Her favorite color is red, she enjoys sweets and reaping souls, and she likes watching mafia movies and drinking red wine. Her given name, "Calliope," can be mistakenly read as "cantaloupe," a fruit she vehemently despises. Despite living in the Underworld, Calli loves anime such as Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica and Made in Abyss, and videogames such as Bloodborne and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. Mori is a talented musician, her debut original song, "Excuse My Rudeness, But Could You Please RIP?", broke 100k views within the first day it was uploaded. Most of her content focuses on Horror/Action games or, more often, music related content such as reviews or releases for her original songs or rapping.

Calli is one of the more interesting VTubers to watch, not only being a provider of a lot of original talent, but also for her strange reactions to many things. She tends to trip over her words, act incredibly suspicious of innocuous things while completely trusting obvious traps. She is also very wholesome (early on being too embarrassed to even swear told it was perfectly fine) and responsible, giving off a "Dad-like" aura of someone who's just a little out of the comfort zone but willing to put up with it to get to know you. Calli often produces original songs and Raps that she makes by collaborating with other youtubers and musicians outside of Hololive with own original ED song "Your Mori" reaching #1 on the hip-hop charts in the US and Japan.

Lore
Mori tends to be paired together with Takanashi Kiara in fan projects, the two fitting both symbolically but also being very close in real life. The two often collaborate or discus topics regarding the other, usually splitting into a pair when anything team related comes up in large crossover events. As a Reaper and an Immortal it just sort of makes sense, and the two usually go along with it. Often Kiara is the more aggressive of the pair, with Calli being a somewhat reluctant or embarrassed recipient of her affections. Their relationship tends to get portrayed in may different ways, often being show as an established couple, as a husband and wife pair that looks after the other members, as just very close friends and rivals, and with the exact nature of dynamic flavored by how Calli's Reaper powers would interact with Kiara's immortality. Kiara tends to possessive of Calli, while Calli seems to just go with the flow which often results in moments where other newer members of Hololive flirt with Calli resulting in an announcement and surprise collab by Kiara.

Calli, being a Grim Reaper is usually portrayed somewhat tragically due to her role in fan material. Someone with a lot of heavy responsibilities that may put her at odds with her friends. Speculations abound about how this relates to Kiara, often being seen as Kiara falling for Death to Calli having repeatedly tried to kill her but never having it stick and is now stuck with her until she can finish the job. When it comes to combat ability she's generally seen as one of the most competent and powerful of the group, there being many fan animations of her fighting techniques. A cruel irony given her usual performance generally displaying the exact opposite. It's rather amusing how her fan portrayals are almost universally completely at odds with her actual personality, usually coming across as how she appears when in reality she's something of an awkward dork.

Build specific lore, Calli is a Shinigami, a "Death God" in charge of managing the flow of souls from this world to the next. In an attempt to claim the soul of Takanashi Kiara in the distant past she failed and has since stayed in her company until the two were recruited by HoloMyth with Amelia and Gura. She is a powerful entity, incredibly skilled in combat and nearly unkillable. Her actual build is something rather disgusting in how unfair it is, having high toughness paired with high regeneration for her Defense and Weaken Toughness linked to Damage on All Out Attacks to to cover offense.

Game streaming is usually enjoyed as something similar to hanging out with a friend as they play a single player game. Because of the live nature of it Streamers often interact directly with fans through their chat holding conversations and telling stories. While the games are good part of what is enjoyed it's not the whole deal, many people do like streamers for their personalities and gimmicks. Some people like watching good players pull off clutch moves in games that they play, not unlike watching a spectator sport like Football. Others like the commentary the streamer does as they play their game, enjoying humor or interactions when it comes to collab streams. A few like the personality of the streamer and their unique takes on certain games and situations and the absurd spin they can put on innocuous things. It's not too dissimilar from watching a Game Show.

VTubers are a bit special, a lot of popularity does undoubtedly come from their Anime Aesthetic, and being cute girls on top of that. It's just inevitable, that combo is just to powerful to not get some attention. What sets them apart from other streamers is often their unique position of effectively being Anime character, giving them much more room to play with in terms of the sort of spin they can put on things. On top of that they usually tend to host a wider variety of content than most streamers and tend to also tend to have a talent for singing and often cover songs or create original music which helps draw in people who are interested but don't see the appeal of watching someone else play a game.

Sometimes its just finding joy in watching a cute little anime girl not realize the term "Hand Job" is not the same thing as "Hand Written" when trying to write a thank you letter.

Motivation: Acceptance: The most social of Holomyth girls Kiara seeks to build bridges between them and other. She often collaborates with others beyond her teammates to build new relationships and bonds of friendship.
Quirk - Bottom Left: A horny idiot beyond compare, Kiara will flirt with any girl who catches her eye, making lewd statements and inappropriate jokes.
Quirk - Hard Truth: Despite her friendly attitude Kiara is often the one who doesn't beat around the bush with unpleasant subjects when it needs to be said. She will be frank and honest about uncomfortable topics and won't try and hide the reality of a situation to make sure the person she's speaking to fully knows what it means.
Relationship - Calliope: Due to her nature as an immortal phoenix Kiara was able to repeatedly come into contact with the reaper Calliope. Finding her cute Kiara decided to try and romance the psycho-pomp, doing her best to earn the Reapers affection. The two are close friends and Kiara is rather possessive of Callis attention.
Weakness - Reckless Sacrifice: Irresponsible and impulsive, Kiara often acts without regard for her own safety save in the knowledge that she cannot be killed. However this often results in her being killed in a way that harms her in other ways, such as destroying her belongings or being unable to revive quickly due to amount of damage received.

Takanashi Kiara (小鳥遊キアラ) born July 6th is a phoenix warrior. She enjoys fast food, hats and adventuring. Kiara is an avid fan of chicken as seen in her stream opening animation illustrated by fellow Hololive English member Mori Calliope, however dislikes it when people mistake her for one. She also dislikes scary things and unrequited love. When not streaming, she enjoys eating, singing, drawing and fighting.

Takanashi Kiara has an energetic, passionate, and extroverted personality. She has seemingly no trouble holding a conversation with other talents, both within and outside of hololive. Kiara has no problem taking the lead in collaborations, and performing as host whenever the situation calls for it. Her energetic personality is also prevalent in her original songs, most notably SPARKS and HINOTORI, as they both have fast-paced beats and lyrics that feature an encouraging and positive message. Kiara is very fond of her genmates, and regularly mentions and commends them for their hard work, both on-stream and on social media. While her relationship with Mori Calliope may be described as flirtatious in nature, their interactions continue to reinforce the trust and comradely spirit between the two. Her fanbase is no different, as the KFP have regularly been subjects of her gratitude for their support, while also playfully experiencing her frustration by getting sent to "The Usual Room".

Kiara has a noticeable accent when speaking, as she is not a native English speaker but has learned it along side Japanese. She is a native German speaker and has occasionally hosted streams teaching other gen-mates German phrases. She is also a large fan of the Hololive JP talent Usada Pekora.

Lore
Kiara is often paired together with Calliope, having not only good chemistry and a fun dynamic but also thematic linking in her immortality and Calli's existence as a Reaper. The two are usually portrayed on friendly terms, at worst Kiara being a clingy flirt to a Tsundere Calli or a once rival who's fallen in love with their reluctant opponent. Most often they are simply treated like a married couple and a partnership slightly separated from the rest of EN. Kiara's immortality often comes up in relation to other members, while many are effectively immortal themselves some are short lived or still mortal. While still silly she is usually seen as much more mature than she appears which mimics her real personality where despite her childishness she's usually the one to take charge, speak uncomfortable truths that need to be said, and bridge gaps between awkward social situations like language barriers or introverted members.

Lore specific to this build. It is again based on Angry Num's work, with inspiration from the animations of Mazumaro. She's a combat specialist with stupidly unfair abilities. She's immortal, capable of self healing, and can dish out extreme levels of burst damage. She's an immortal phoenix who wants to live with humans, having grown to appreciate their love of life in the face of mortality. She grew fascinated with the concept of Death, as it was something she'd never truly experience, and how it influences the human condition and has grown to appreciate and even be slightly envious of the human condition and their mortality allowing them to grow and adapt. She encountered Calli while fleeing knights sent to kill her as she was mistaken for a witch. On learning of Calli's nature she grew similarly fascinated with her, which eventually grew into infatuation.

Complications
Addiction - Puns: A connoisseur of wordplay, Ina has a deep love of puns and dad jokes and makes them at every opportunity.
Curse Sworn - Priestess of the Ancient Ones: A "Priestess" for the ancient ones, Ina is their gateway by which Aberrations and Outsiders can enter reality. She acts as a guardian keeping the more harmful creatures locked away while caring for the rest. She is still beholden to the "Traditions" and "Ceremonies" needed to appease Ancient Ones lest they force their way through her into an unprepared reality.
Monstrous - Eldritch Abomination: Originally a human girl, Ina has contracted with the Ancient Ones and has become one of their Kin. While she retains her human appearance normally she becomes increasingly incomprehensible in appearance as she draws more on that power.
Motivation: Doing Good: A kind and peaceful girl, Ina wants to make friends and help others. She is empathetic towards all life, even creatures that would normally be shunned.
Quirk - Strange Tastes: Because of her exposure to things man was not meant to know Ina's tastes have been warped. She has a fascination with horror and grotesque imagery and her thought process can sometimes take very strange turns as she follows alien lines of logic.
Temper - The Fathomless Queen: An alternate personality of Ina, a shadowy reflection of the human Ina who exists on the other-side of the veil and commands the horrors therein. She is cold and uncaring, seeing reality as the dreamworld and the nightmares she inhabits as the true reality. As Ina becomes more upset or stressed she begins to reflect more of those traits.

Notes:
Official Bio: Despite her looks, Ina'nis is actually a priestess of the Ancient Ones. One day, she picked up a strange book and then started to gain the power of controlling tentacles. To her, tentacles are just a part in her ordinary life; it has never been a big deal for her. However, her girly mind does want to get them dressed up and stay pretty. After gaining power, she started hearing Ancient Whispers and Revelations. Hence, she began her VTuber activities to deliver random sanity checks on humanity, as an ordinary girl.

Ninomae Ina’nis is a human girl of undisclosed age that has some form of link with Ancient Horrors beyond space and time. Contrary to her lovecraftian horror-esque appearance, she has already gained a reputation to be the most tranquil of HoloEN bunch. Her representative emote is an octopus. Ina’nis, nicknamed Ina by her own request, is a soft-spoken yet sociable individual with an easy-going temperament. She is very loving and aware towards her fellow members, capable of talking extensively about each one and their respective quirks. Ina is very engaged in popular culture with massively diverse tastes, enjoying a large variety of genres in an equally large pool of mediums, whether it be mecha anime, pop rock, fps, only to name a few. A notable feature of Ina is her significant artistic talent, illustrating multiple promotional content for HoloEN as well as the majority of assets she uses for her vtuber activities. She is also a prolific singer, often covering popular songs from anime or games, her rendition of UNRAVEL is often used in hololive memes to parody tragically edgy moments.

Ina is well known for her love of puns, frequently making horrible dad jokes. She is very fond of octopi, usually reacting negatively when one is harmed in various media such as being eaten in sushi. She is perhaps the most Seiso of the En bunch, to the point of jokingly punishing her fans when they make inappropriate jokes resulting in a reputation for being stern and scarily vicious against perverts.

Lore
In lore Ina is often paired with Gura or Ame, do to frequent interactions and genuinely good interactions as well as interesting theming. She is also occasionally linked to Haachama, the alter ego of the JP member Akai Haato, due to Haato's incredibly bizarre and absurdist content (Not unlike a David Lynch film) giving her a fan reputation of being some form of eldritch horror. She also tends to be grouped together with other members who are similarly calm or wholesome, such as Towa who is a devil girl whose disposition has lead fans to speculate she is in fact an angel in disguise. Of course she's also called upon when appropriate for a joke such as when Tentacles are mentioned or when the punchline is a terrible pun.

Ina is human with an undefined relationship with some form of eldritch entity called "The Ancient Ones" which often takes the form of a book or computer tablet that floats beside her. A lot about her is left deliberately mysterious with in universe redactions or cover ups. She considers herself a normal human, but in appearance she has clearly been altered by her contact with The Ancient Ones as she has grown elflike ears, fangs, and antenna. Her tentacles are not actually part of her body but come out of a portal directly behind her. The eldritch horror aspect of her is often played up, either for laughs of drama. In terms of combat she's usually seen as passive but powerful, capable of easily taking most other Hololive members short of the S-tier threats (Korone, Rushia, Pekora, Flare, Suisei, and Haachama) who have earned a reputation of nearly godlike power due to Lore, impressive gaming feats, real life physical accomplishments, and a frightening level of casual violence.

In terms of the build, Ina is basically a young girl who has some strange but deeply personal link to The Ancient ones. Drawing heavily on Lovecraftian lore, they exist in a sort of Nightmare world where our reality is considered the Dream and theirs the Truth. The Ancient Ones have a similar relationship with her to Lina Inverse and The Lord of Darkness in the fantasy anime Slayers, where it is theorized Lina's ability to call on the Elder God is due to being a fragment, reflection, avatar, or child of it. Based on the comics by Angry Num and animation of Mazumaro, Ina is not quite fully in control of her abilities and her patron is not quite on the same page as her, resulting in the risk of her being possessed or going mad and being used to start some sort of lovecraftian apocalypse.
