Complications
Personality - Hiroshi is a kind, selfless defender of the innocent, jumping to the defense of absolute strangers without a second thought. His selflessness has cost him greatly, resulting in the deaths of many friends, and the transformation of his body into that of an inhuman machine.
Power Loss (All) - Hiroshi's body requires a massive amount of energy to function, necessitating a total of 100,000 calories a day.
Power Loss (Gravity Reduction Equipment) - Skyrider's Gravity Reduction Equipment has a height ceiling of around 10,000 meters
(about 6 miles up, the height of most commercial aircraft), at which point air pressure becomes too thin and the user can no longer easily control their maneuvering.
Weakness (Sky Kick) - After using his finishing techniques, Skyrider has a very brief period of vulnerability. While not long enough to qualify for Distracting, he does count as Vulnerable if he's attacked by a Readied Action after using said effect.
Background: Hiroshi Tsukuba, the Skyrider. A capable young hang-glider, with a small group of close friends, Hiroshi's life was relatively innocent, until he encountered the evil organization Neo-Shocker. Rescuing one of their escaping scientists, Professor Keitaro Shido, from the group's footsoldiers, Hiroshi's friends would pay the price for his interference with their lives. Hiroshi would find his way to the professor, only for both to be attacked, and Hiroshi to be fatally wounded by one of Neo-Shocker's Kaijin. Now captured, the professor begged Neo-Shocker to allow him to perform a cybernetic surgery on the young man. Successful in his efforts, Hiroshi would be transformed into the Skyrider, using his newfound powers to defeat the creature, escaping alongside Shido, and beginning a crusade against the villainous organization. With the assistance of Professor Shido
(and later, the Professor's associate Genjiro Tani), Hiroshi fought against the schemes of General Monster and his legion of genocidal cyborgs. Eventually, however, Skyrider would begin to falter and fail against Neo-Shocker's Admiral Majin and his army, leading to his first meeting with his predecessors, the Seven Legendary Riders. Undergoing their lethal training, Skyrider would realize his true power and assume a new, more powerful upgrade, granting him the strength to overwhelm Neo-Shocker. Alongside the Seven Legendary Riders, Skyrider would regain, and lose his parents, and uncover the grand conspiracy of the Neo-Shocker's Great Leader, seemingly sacrificing himself alongside his predecessors to defeat him and foil his "Anti-Oxygen Bomb" plot, leaving Earth at a seeming peace for a time...
Notes: Skyrider maintains the track record of the elite-tier Showa Riders, specced for specific fields, albeit with a bit more of a rookie twist than his predecessors. Skyrider starts around PL 10; with a solid +13/7 Unarmed split, he was already a capable hero. However, after the universe's most hardcore training montage
(and taking 7 Rider Kicks TO THE FACE), Skyrider evolved into the whole, bullshit-tier hero most Showa Riders are, gaining the same general speed and Strength, and access to his
"99 Techniques" (a vaguely defined set of random powers), allowing him to pull some truly random Power Stunts. On top of THAT, he's got an absurd level of Senses, able to see invisible targets, track radio signals, and even SMELL GOOD. This is all ignoring his actual defining feature; being a
Skyrider, Hiroshi can fly over Mach 1 and fights better while airborne, breaching into PL 12.5-13 territory w/Favored Environment. On the downside, however, Hiroshi's somewhat lacking in skills compared to, say, the super-scientists of 1, V3, and Riderman, or the all-purpose badasses of 2 & Stronger. He's not terrible, of course, having a bit of coverage in everything, but nothing truly elite besides his transformed physical stats and Perception. But it won't stop him from flying on by and kicking your ass.
