TALENTS: Various

CONTACTS: Their Nightlord and its Minions

HISTORY
The Nightlords have the ability to create avatars, semi-independent creations that share the same personality and thoughts of their creator. Avatars are not as powerful as their creators, so they can be more easily destroyed. Yet they are still very powerful, able to fight and destroy most lone enemies and to stand against a whole band of supernatural beings. Avatars are used as war leaders, spies and representatives. They can be shaped in any way the Nightlord desires. Many world leaders (including the President) have been replaced by an Avatar of the Night-lords.

There are two types of Avatar. Physical Avatars are solid beings made of supernatural flesh and bone. Astral Avatars are creatures of pure psychic energy, able to enter dreams and minds. Both are incredibly dangerous and as evil and intelligent as their creators. Astral Avatars are the equivalent of the creation of the Astral Projection psionic power, but it is not linked to the Nightlord via the "silver cord" and is fully independent, able to travel in the Astral Plane, coexist with the physical plane, and con-tact beings in other dimensions or worlds.

When creating an Avatar, the Nightlord bestows upon it some of his own life force. This gift does not harm or diminish the Nightlord unless the Avatar is somehow killed. Destroying an Avatar is pain-ful and severely weakens the Nightlord. This damage is healed very slowly. Most Nightlords do not make more than two or three Avatars, because if they create too many, and they are all destroyed, the resulting backlash might be enough to kill the Nightlord. For that reason, most positions of leadership are left in the hands of the Night Princes or other minions.

I think I'll be leaving the Vampires out of this update. They are more of a Palladium wide type of monster anyway.

I'll be returning to the superhero genre soon enough.

CONTACTS: Nova Corps, Heralds of Galactus, Firelord

HISTORY
Gabriel Lan was a captain of the Xandarian explorer-ship the “Way-Opener”, who’s mission was to seek out and establish peaceful relationships with neighboring alien civilizations. Lan previously distinguished himself in the

Xandar's military, the Nova Corps, and welcomed his appointment to an exploration ship since he was filled with the wanderlust and love of open space. He became best friends with Pyreus Kril.

Returning from his seven-year tour of duty, Lan neared his home solar system when a spherical craft of an unidentified nature approached. A teleport beam took him from the bridge of the Way-Opener and brought him aboard the spherical ship into the presence of the world-devourer Galactus. Galactus announced that he was looking for a new herald to replace the defective Silver Surfer, and having scanned Lan's mind, deemed him an appropriate candidate. Hearing Galactus's offer of vast power and unlimited travel, Lan readily accepted and was transformed by a tiny fraction of Galactus's cosmic might into the Air-Walker, second of Galactus's great heralds.

Voluntarily putting all thoughts of his previous life behind; the Air-Walker served Galactus faithfully for years, seeking out new worlds to suit his master's appetite. He came to befriend Galactus, and would pass long hours listening to Galactus's tales of the wonders and mysteries of the universe.

One day after Lan found a new world for Galactus to drain and while returning to Galactus ship to tell him of it, the Air-Walker saw a fleet of warships in battle formation approaching. The ships contained members of the Ovoids, a highly advanced civilization, who feared Galactus presence so close to their star system. The Air-Walker launched an attack on the Ovoid fleet and was struck down by Ovoidian weaponry designed to slay Galactus himself. Because Galactus was so weak from hunger, he was unable to retaliate with full force and decided to retreat from that space sector. His power still at a low ebb, Galactus could not afford to give up any of his personal energy to resuscitate the dying spark of life in his faithful herald.

However, once his energies were renewed, Galactus transferred the consciousness of his herald, who laid down his life for him, to a perfect robotic replica. The android Air-Walker was sent to Earth so that Galactus could claim his former herald as his own once again. Air-Walker was destroyed by the Silver Surfer.

Air Walker's robotic form was re-paired by the Machinesmith, although he was defeated before Gabriel ever awoke. Upon his revival, Gabriel realized that he was somehow an android and blamed the Silver Surfer for this treachery. Gabriel went to New York to find the Surfer but instead found the God of Thunder, Thor. Once Thor realized that the man he fought was an android, he went all out and destroyed him. This brought the wrath of Firelord who now remembered his best friend. After Thor was able to convince Firelord that he did what he needed to do, Firelord took his friend and buried him on an asteroid near the ruins of Xandar.

When the threat of Morg reached Firelord's attention, all the former heralds of Galactus banded together to stop him. Galactus had cloaked his ship from all his former heralds, making him impossible to find. Firelord knew who could find him, Air-Walker. He had been built with a homing device capable of tracking the ship. Firelord always thought it sacrilegious to resurrect Air-Walker, but they were desperate. They used their power to re-charge his cosmic batteries. When first resurrected, he attacked Firelord along with the Silver Surfer and Nova. His brain could only recognize that he was in battle, as he was at the time of his 'death'. He almost killed Firelord, but came to and recognized his old friend. Fire-lord promised to help him regain his memories and asked for his help against Morg.

They battled Morg and Air-Walker was severely damaged in the battle. When it was finished, Morg was dead and Galactus without a herald. Firelord and Air-Walker volunteered to be his temporary heralds and try their best to guide him away from populated planets. Firelord also used Galactus' technology to help repair Air-Walker. They continued to serve Galactus but he secretly resurrected Morg. When Morg returned to Galactus, he destroyed Air Walker's body and killed him. But the Silver Surfer arranged for Galactus to revive him although his body was beyond repair. His consciousness was downloaded into the main frame of Galactus' Ship where he can now help to guide the ship to uninhabited worlds. He becomes one with the ship and knows all that goes on inside of it.

When a meeting between Tyrant and Galactus was inevitable, Morg formed a plan to help save his master and asked Air-Walker for his assistance. At first, Air-Walker did not wish to help him, for he was searching for the Ultimate Nullifier. But when Morg threatened to deactivate and thus kill him he agreed. Air-Walker told Morg where to find the device. Morg eventually used the device on Tyrant, but the power overcame Morg. It's power unleashed, it destroyed Galactus' ship along with Air-Walker.

Air-Walker somehow resurfaced, once again in his android body during the events of Annihilation. He could do nothing as the Annihilation Wave destroyed Xandar. He was hunted by the Seekers led by Ravenous, a group designed to capture all former Heralds of Galactus. They were disappointed to learn that he was an android. The Silver Surfer arrived and rescued Air-Walker from his fate. The Surfer took Air-Walker far from the Seekers and learned that he was being hunted as well. Once again, Air-Walker died and the Surfer left him behind.

HISTORY
Conner Sims was a veteran of the Korean War, a member of the US Marine Corps along with his best friend, Adam Brashear. Conner and Adam were more like brothers than friends, they were each other’s godparent for their children, and Conner fought bigots that mistreated Adam. They later became the project lead on a scientific at-tempt to harness anti-matter through the creation of a "Negative Reactor" which created a bridge between the Negative Zone and the positive matter universe.

This reactor would then allow for an almost unlimited source of clean energy by allowing devices to tap the energy generated by a stable event horizon balanced be-tween these positive and negative universes. Due to the unexpected explosion of the reactor, both Brashear and Sims were subjected to mutagenic radiation generated by the then unstable event horizon. While Sims' body disassembled into energy, Brashear became a stable "antimatter reactor" and developed a set of superhuman abilities. Conner became an unstable source of anti-matter, and this in-stability made it impossible for him to remain within the realm of existence for long. During that time in the realm, he learned his brother was killed by members of the Ku Klux Klan while working undercover for the FBI. The combination of his powers, losing his brother and seeing his friend Adam being discriminated against caused Conner's mind to fracture and eventually snap, resolving to destroy the people who perpetuated the racist standards of his time.

On June 4th, 1962, was the date of the beginning of the end of the Blue Marvel's superhero career at the hands of Anti-Man. The brutal battle revealed Adam's true colors literally. Anti-Man had inadvertently caused portions of the Blue Marvel's suit to be torn away, revealing his dark skin. That June battle claimed Blue Marvel's career and had ended Conner's life or so Ad-am and the rest of the world thought.

Anti-Man returned with the same intentions as before but now his powers had grown exponentially. He single handedly defeated the Mighty Avengers whom consisted of Iron Man, Sentry, Wasp, Wonder Man, Ares and Hank Pym. Luckily for the Avengers, Conner was unable to stay long, but after his dis-appearance the Avengers began their search for the Blue Marvel.

After researching, convincing, planning and waiting, the Blue Marvel and Mighty Avengers were ready for Anti-Man's inevitable re-turn. Prior to his return, anti-matter storms began to appear across the world, destroying cities and killing many civilians. Anti-Man finally returned attempting once again cleanse the world. He believed the world had forced him to judge be-cause he did not think his ideal world of equality was possible. Instead of giving the world Heaven, Conner decided to give them Hell. Mr. Fantastic and Iron Man were armed with weapons designed to affect Anti-Man's unstable molecular structure but they and the others only seemed to slow him down. The battle took a dramatic turn when Adam arrived on scene.

Adam commanded his allies to certain tasks to help him create a cyclone in order to generate a particle accelerator to dispel Conner. Anti-Man, now at a more equal level with Adam, took the fight to the the sky so Adam could sync powers with Conner to finally defeat him. Their battle continued to escalate and Adam revealed how he pitied Conner. Blue Marvel for-gave his former friend, and proceeded to release him, seemingly killing him for good.

Though thought to have been dissipated indefinitely, Conner Sims reformed in an outer dimension called the Exo-Space, which exist-ed outside of reality. When the Ultimates were making a visit there, they encountered the Anti-Man, to Blue Marvel's surprise. Blue Marvel initially decided to kill the Anti-Man, claiming that he was too dangerous and powerful, though he also appeared to wish to kill him in revenge for the lives he took. Adam was convinced to stop by his son Kevin, another inhabitant of the Exo-Space. Instead, Adam brought Conner back to his ship, and set out to fix him.

The Ultimates continued their journey together with Sims, but they were stopped shortly before reaching their destiny by Galactus, who wanted to prevent their mortal minds from witnessing the true full scope of all reality. Galactus was forced to send them back to Earth when Anti-Man reached a state of hyper-awareness and started to panic after discovering that Eternity was chained.

Sims was kept in a prison cell specifically built to contain him be-neath the Triskelion, where his attempts to reveal that reality was caged were quickly prevented by an outside force who silenced Sims when he tried to warn the Ultimates. A fellow prisoner of the Ultimates, Thanos manipulated Conner into breaking out of his cell. After fleeing Earth, Sims launched himself outside the Multiverse, where he was found by Galactus. Galactus used his new-found powers as the Lifebringer to turn Sims into his first Herald of Life. Sims was then sent by Galactus to recruit the recently-disbanded Ultimates in order to help him discover who had imprisoned Eternity.

After reassembling the Ultimates, Anti-Man accompanied Galactus when he attended his trial before the Living Tribunal to determine whether he would be allowed to remain as the Lifebringer or be forced to become the World Devourer, as the prosecuting faction of Master Order and Lord Chaos wanted. The trial took a dramatic turn after the Living Tribunal ruled in Galactus' favor, and Master Order and Lord Chaos joined forces and killed the Living Tribunal to establish themselves as top of the universe's hierarchy in order to force their will. The Anti-Man was sent by Galactus to warn the Ultimates, but was badly injured when he returned to their plane of existence.

Having merged into a new cosmic being named Logos, Master Order and Lord Chaos managed to revert Galactus to his status of devourer, and he was set loose on his own ship, where the Ultimates and Anti-Man were. After Blue Marvel and Spectrum combined their forces to heal Anti-Man, Sims returned to his master all of the power he had been imbued with. Even though Conner sacrificed himself in the process, he saved Galactus and turned him back into the Lifebringer.

HISTORY
Lex Luthor is the genius, ego-centered Metropolis businessman who, with his company LexCorp and scientifically advanced War-suit, has acted as both an antagonist and ally to Superman and the Justice League.

Alexander Luthor was born and raised in Smallville, Kansas with a sickly sister, Lena, who he promised to cure.

As an adult, Lex Luthor moved to Metropolis and set himself up as a troubleshooter. When he began intercepting signals from an alien craft that called itself the "Brain Inter-Acting Construct", he set up a dialogue, trading data about Earth for alien scientific knowledge.

Through a strange benefactor, he was recruited into an alliance of convenience with General Lane of Project: Steel Soldier and Glen Glenmorgan, the corporate master of Metropolis, against Superman. However, Luthor double-crossed Lane and Glenmorgan, stealing the Kryptonite the group planned to use, and leaked their plan to a reporter named Clark Kent.

He attempted to aid Brainiac during the shrinking of Metropolis, but, in the aftermath, there was no evidence and so the government was forced to let him go. Luthor spent the next several years filling the power vacuum in Metropolis left by Glenmorgan.

Around four years after the formation of the Justice League, he instigated the American invasion of Qurac so that he could sell his super-weapons to the army. That was also the year that he personally faced Superman for the first time and was detained by the hero, receiving a facial scar across the left side of his face in the fight. Luthor spent a year in prison, during which Superman would some-times visit to ask his opinion of a particularly troubling scientific dis-aster.

While in prison, Lex was visited by Pandora, a mysterious woman who believed he could open her box with the darkness of his heart, but a group of heroes led by Wonder Woman broke into his cell in an attempt to seize the box. Soon after, Luthor was released from prison and returned to his position as the CEO of LexCorp, just in time to witness the Crime Syndicate arrive and announce that criminals were free to walk the Earth.

Determined to stop the Crime Syndicate from controlling his world, Lex chose to awaken his unfinished Superman clone Subject B-0 and initiate the Syndicate's down-fall. Both unlikely heroes explored the destroyed remains of Metropolis and recruited a handful of other villains that opposed the new world order, forming their own "Injustice League".

When finally preparing to fight the Syndicate, a new enemy - Mazahs, Lex's Earth 3 analogue - attacked Luthor and his allies. However, Mazahs' power was no match for Lex's superior intellect, and Lex defeated and killed his counterpart in battle. In the aftermath, after the Crime Syndicate had been dethroned and the Justice League had been restored from the Fire-storm Matrix where they had been trapped, Luthor and the rest of the Injustice League were regarded as heroes and celebrated for their courageous efforts.

In the wake of the invasion, public opinion of Lex Luthor was incredibly favorable, and he decided that he liked it. In an effort to continue being regarded as a hero, he tried to convince the Justice League to recruit him, but was initially unsuccessful. The Justice League eventually talked about how Luthor was going to keep on his crusade with or without the help of the Justice League and, begrudgingly, allowed him to join.

One of the first missions Luthor spent with the Justice League was tracking down the Crime Syndicate member Power Ring's power ring, which had flown onto the hand of Jessica Cruz following his death, and invited Cruz to join their ranks.

After opening up LexCorp for an open house on his company, Luthor was attacked by an assassin named Neutron. Though Luthor and the Justice League repelled Neutron, the assassin accidentally released LexCorp's secret project - the Amazo Virus - that turned all of Metropolis into a quarantine zone. Luthor and the League worked together to contain the virus and heal all the infected.

During the conflict between Darkseid and the Anti-Monitor, Lex traveled with the Justice League to the planet Apokolips. After Darkseid's death, a large amount of energy from the Anti-Life Equation was released, giving Lex and the rest of the League all-new special abilities. Luthor, absorbing a large amount of Darkseid's energy, was deemed the "God of Apokolips" and became the new Darkseid.

Lex returned to earth, becoming bored of Apokolips, and shortly thereafter learned of Superman's death. Inspired to become the hero of Metropolis that his sister could be proud of when she awakens, Luthor quickly bought out the Daily Planet to retrieve Superman's cape and declared himself the new Superman.

The next day, he went public by stopping a robbery and hostage situation on live television. However, the Pre-Flashpoint Clark Kent, who had arrived in the current timeline after the events of Convergence, was watching and donned his Superman uniform, believing that Luthor was the same evil mastermind as his Luthor. Superman quickly showed, attempting to "stop" Luthor. However, before the fight could escalate any further, a captive Doomsday appeared, which was the target of the robbery, and both Supermen worked together to stop it.

Later, Luthor was targeted by two aliens named Godslayer and Zade who had foreseen that Luthor would one day once again take Darkseid's place on Apokolips and commit worse deeds than the New God himself. Taken to their planet, Luthor was rescued by the new/old Superman, and the Supermen, again, had to work together to es-cape the assassins and return to Earth.

Later, after having multiple trust issues with Superman, Lex Luthor ripped the Superman symbol from his armor, claiming that Superman abandoned him. While he did not return to evil ways, he now acted as an independent hero, with plans that he would not share with Superman Family. He was then recruited into Team Entropy by Brainiac to assist fighting Omega Titans. Continuing to face mistrust from other superheroes and being called a villain, Luthor discussed his feelings about the situation with Martian Manhunter. He ended up an instrumental part of the plan to stop the Omega Titans: when Deathstroke failed to imbue Justice League's weapon with the power of entropy, Lex took it from him, and to Slade's surprise, gave it the necessary essence of entropy, despite his supposed status as a hero. This has given Lex the epiphany, regarding Earth and humanity representing the universal force of entropy, which he shared with Martian Manhunter and made an ominous promise to meet again sooner than he and the Justice League might have want-ed.

After Luthor's revelation that the main force of Earth was entropy, and that his life as a hero was meaningless, Luthor set out to see just how true this was, building a time machine and travelling one million years into the future. What he found was a world in which everyone worshiped him, where after centuries of destruction between heroes and villains, humanity found the lost journals of Lex Luthor and began to follow his teachings. In this world, people did not try to make the world a better one, but instead accepted it as it is, with faults and entropy. Shocked at this future, Luthor learned that the reason humanity went down this route was because he himself missed something, a secret, that would change everything. The people of the future could not tell Luthor what it exactly was, but they showed him a symbol that represented it.

Waking up in the present, Luthor spent time recreating all of the technology he saw on his travels from memory, and looking into all possible events he could have overlooked to bring about that future. The only thing he could find, however, was an invitation to a reunion of the Legionnaires Club in Kansas. Using the opportunity to blow off some steam, Lex bought the building and loaded it with ex-plosives, as a last way to get revenge at his abusive father. How-ever, during the explosion, Lex found a door that only he could see, with a glowing doorknob, having the symbol that the future showed him engraved on it.

Using the door, Lex found the re-mains of the true Legionnaires Club, and all of their readings on The Totality, and how it would change the world. Reading up on the seven forces of Perpetua, Lex realized that the only way to fully access this power, the power of accepting reality as it is, not as it should be, he would need a team to access the seven powers. Realizing what he needed to do to bring about 'doom,' Lex began to recruit the Legion of Doom.

Lex began to recruit members to his new Legion, starting with Gorilla Grodd and Sinestro, appealing to them with the promise of a way to finally beat The Flash and a way to obtain the Invisible Spectrum, respectively.

Soon, he found his way to The Joker, who promised to join the Legion as long as Lex never associated himself with The Batman Who Laughs, Who Lex had captured. Unbeknownst to Lex, Joker planned on playing the ultimate joke on him, to make it so that they came incredibly close to winning, and then betraying him at the last minute.

With his new Legion of Doom, including members Black Manta and Cheetah, they began to hatch their ultimate plan.

CONTACTS: Thomas Wayne (Batman II), Ted Grant, Helena Wayne (Huntress), Wonders of the World

HISTORY
Years before the Earth 2 invasion by Darkseid and his Parademon, Richard Grayson and Barbara Gordon were married and Barbara soon became pregnant with John - ostensibly named for Richard's father - and the trio lived in peace alongside the rest of the world after the Wonders of the World's sacrifice.

After Darkseid and Apokolips make their second attack upon Earth 2 the second Wonders of the World formulate contingency plans for the non-metahumans in places such as the World Army Refugee stronghold in Chicago where the Graysons are taking refuge. Whilst rations lower and tensions raise Barbara confides in Richard that she wishes she still wore her badge. However, after an attack by some ravagers within the refugee camp, Barbara deputizes several other asylum seekers to combat the lowering moral levels in the camp, including her husband, Richard and Ted Grant. In addition to the dissent within the camp a meteor shower of debris is sent from Apokolips toward Earth 2, and ultimately to Chicago. Barbara is hit rather badly, but not mortally, by some debris and the whole Gray-son family are whisked away from the chaos by Lottie, seemingly an-other refugee, on her motorbike. After an altercation on the road the foursome arrive at an abandoned Navy Pier now turned into a crude fortress which Lottie calls Gomorrah.

The people of Gomorrah knock Richard unconscious and imprison Barbara for being a cop with the intent of making her fight a chained Parademon as some form of sacrifice for "The Beast". Upon seeing his wife imprisoned Richard goes into a combative trance and frees Barbara whilst the ersatz sanctuary descends into chaos and the couple ride back to the World Army camp to find their son.

When they return and find Johnny the family attempt to board an al-ready overfilled evacuating train; whilst Barbara attempts to secure a place for her family she is shot in the chest by someone already on-board and John Constantine watches. Constantine and his allies then begin to attack Barbara's killers and they board the train to es-cape the imminent tidal wave. As the train pulls away Grayson hands his son over to Jonni Thunder and awaits his inevitable death in Chicago.

Rage fills Richard as he waits for the tidal wave to arrive, he finds himself fighting his wife's killer and only the memory of his son pulls him through, ultimately Grayson beats the murderer to a pulp with a baseball bat until the wave hits the city. At the last moment Ted Grant knocks a reluctant Grayson out and the two flee the torrent. Ted begins to train Grayson when he wakes but when the duo come across a train tunnel entrance and discover that the train John was on had derailed underground and the two race into the tunnels.

Underground Richard finds the derailed train but is surrounded by a pack of scavengers, employing the techniques Ted taught him he easily fights them off - albeit rather violently. Having arrived in Atom's Haven Richard and Ted seek out the group who last had his son and they soon encounter Obsidian and the three start to fight before Jonni Thunder stops them and explain that Brainwave had taken control of the minds of the people in the Haven. After following the crowds Grayson discovers Brainwave's plan to board a space shuttle and flee from Earth 2. After finding his son Brainwave spots Richard in the crowd and, since he cannot be controlled, orders Ted to shoot him - preventing this is Batman and Huntress who swoop in and knock Brainwave out thus releasing all the minds and causing a large panic wherein Richard loses his son again.

Having found his son again, Richard, Ted and John line up to board an evacuation ship though they are refused under the proviso of women and children first so Richard gives his son away again, this time - unknowingly - to Big Barda and K'li both of whom are on the run after having been defeated.

As the battle against Darkseid and Apokolips reaches its climax Richard flies into battle alongside Batman in one of the reacquired spaceships and later the two man an artillery gun as the Green Lantern saves all the survivors and Apokolips engulf the planet.

Moments before their destruction at the hands of Darkseid's Omega Beams Richard, Yolanda Montez who kisses Richard as he pulls her from the ground, Batman and other heroes of Earth 2 appear on a foreign planet and are accosted by a metallic fluid that prevents their movement and soon Telos himself arrives asking where they had come from. Explaining that their planet was surely destroyed by Apokolips' attack Telos becomes enraged at his miscalculations and reveals that he serves Brainiac and is beginning a war between the worlds to decree a worthy victor.

Noticing that Telos' bonds on the Wonders were weakening they escape and attack him as Grayson reflects on the events that brought him to this planet. The battle ends at a standstill and Telos fades and after the Wonders go looking for others. Batman and Grayson go into Gotham - mostly so Batman can ensure Grayson's attitude does not get him kills or ruin Alan Scott's plan and the two head for the nearest Gotham City to find allies. There they find an alternate Bat-man, Alfred and a New Earth version of Richard's deceased wife, Barbara. The Waynes reconcile and Bruce lends Thomas a Bat-plane to rejoin the others who had met Deimos. What the duo do not realize is that their plane had been followed by a variety of Bruce's rogues gallery.

Having run out of Miraclo Thomas Wayne confronts the army of villains and, luring them close, explodes a bomb hidden upon his person killing many of them. Richard, who remained away from the conflict understands why Thomas had to do this but, turning around, finds himself before the Clown Prince himself, The Joker who promptly shoots him in the stomach and severs Richards spine, disabling him. As the Joker stands above him paralyzed body, Telos appears and breaks his neck citing that of all the universal constants - such as the inevitability of a Wayne/Grayson partnership, the Joker was a blight in every time-line, and he demands to know where Richards allies has gone.

Telos can see that Richard Gray-son is fighting for his survival - and that's exactly what he wanted. Dick is sure that Telos intends to kill him, but can't figure out why he's been hesitating. The planet's sentience explains that he came to save this Richard Grayson - or at least give him the opportunity to save himself. He can heal Dick's shattered spine with his molding metal. He warns, though, that Dick and his friends must join in the convergence. The two of them need not be enemies - so long as Dick is on the winning side.

Grayson is in hot pursuit of the man responsible for the crash landing of countless survivor ships who fled from their previous homeworld after it had been consumed by Apokolips. While on the hunt for Terry Sloan as the new Batman after his Predecessors demise during the multiversal cluster pilgrimage.

Soon after; Terry has a run in with the forces of Johnny Sorrow leaving Dick to dodge their sniper fire after they double back on him; be-forehand Richard has a brief flashback remembering back 12 months ago, to the day where he and his fellow nomads found themselves on the world they now call home. While also becoming paralytic again after Telos power which restored his mobility faded once he had left. As he saw numerous ships fall towards him perpetrated by his quarry he sipped right back to reality only to witness Sloan getting away after having dispatched Sorrow and his men.

During his pause for thought over the latter asking if "HE" was the one who sent Dick after him in the first place, a desperate mid-air escape on Sloan's part had left a grappled Batman crashing against a searchlight contemplating what could have the most powerful man on their new planet cringing in abject fear.

Batman soon wakes to be greeted by a more seasoned pair of Wonders consisting of The Flash and Huntress. Having asked who all knew of Sloan's occupational terrace of their new world Doctor Impossible droops in surrounded by a techno grid stating everyone knows and has assembled to apprehend him, but Batman demanded Terrific find Sloan before the others do. Terry's words still ringing around in his mind after he picks himself up.

When Richard finally catches up to Sloan however; he's already accessed the Source Vault having activated something called a terraformer. A green metallic cube which has the power to reshape worlds to the liking of whosoever wields it and having activated it now gives Sloan the ability to re-purpose the New Earth 2, leaving Batman grumbling at this new turn of events.

The Brethren

The Brethren

Background:
After the First Host on Earth, the Celestials devised they needed to have a control on the powerful Eternals; in other words, a counter-balance.

Over 200,000 years ago, The Celestials, or at least Ziran the Tester and Nezarr the Calculator, used the bacteria (since they were the ones who kept all life in check) Bacilli, spirilla, and cocci of the planet Omega Climion Six, and mixed them to fashion a new race of humanoids, the Brethren.

Allegedly, fleets of Brethren followed Arishem the Judge, awaiting for each of his judgments and applying his sentence on unworthy worlds, leaving them lifeless, dead and infected.

Eventually, the Celestials lost interested in the Brethren, who allegedly fell out of Arishem's favors, and were let loose on the universe.

Over time, their leader took the title of Thane, and was the guardian of their secret origin.

Unaware of their origins (save for Thane and his brother), and pressed by the urge to destroy life and move on, they spread terror and genocide through the universe. Their legends made them terrors of the stars.

They caused unparalleled destruction in the cosmos, and allegedly caused the fall of thousand worlds and races, with all of it witnessed by the Watcher.

Five thousand years ago, they were captured by the Collector and imprisoned on his ship for many decades, reduced in size.

The Collector, wishing to cull the numbers of humanity in the hopes that the specimens he would collect would be the last of their kind and thus making his collection truly singular, had planned the escape of the Brethren.

Seemingly under the lead of Brethren Lord Thane Ector, they es-caped their own receptacle, traveled into the Collector's miniaturized ecosystems and killed people, specifically women, children and old ones, including Nakka's alien primitive people, as they proceed-ed before their internment, fitting the Collector's want to destroy part of his collection he deemed redundant.

At some point, they left Olar, oldest of the Brethren, to die, as he was deemed too frail to escape with the others.

The Collector then crashed his ship in the Blue Area of the Moon and was seemingly neutralized by the Brethren who then escaped the spacecraft.

Coming into conflict with the Inhumans, they captured Quicksilver, Karnak and Timberius. Thane Ector and his consort Lady Sybyl Dorn tortured them and eventually learned of Earth from Timberius. They set out to conquer it, having heard of the planet's triumph over Galactus. They were repelled and teleported away from the Blue Area by allied forces of Inhumans and Avengers, and were soon warned of the threat by the Watcher.

In the three following days, the Brethren made earth fall and Ector led several assaults against population centers, including Paris in France, while causing severe casualties. There, they were confront-ed by the Avengers who made them retreat, but not without hurting Captain America and abducting Sersi.

They then teleported the Citadel of Thane Ector to top of the World Trade Center, Lower Manhattan, New York City and officially claimed Earth for the Brethren. There, Ector made moves towards Sersi, with the intent of consorting with her.

While Brethren combated police and Avengers, Ector disregarded his people's customs, admiring the Avengers and even more so the Eternal Sersi, sensing a bond be-tween their species due to their shared Celestial origins, and willingness to overcome the origins of his species.

In the Collector's museum, scientist Avengers Beast and Black Panther, along with the Collector and Quasar followed the trail of the Brethren in the miniaturized ecosystems, eventually burying their companion Nakka, victim of the Brethren's attacks aftermaths. Nakka's grave was then attacked by Olar, hungering.

Sybyl Dorn tried to accuse Ector of treason for his proximity with Sersi, but his brother the Fool was able to undermine his efforts by revealing the alliance of the Avengers with the Collector, pushing Ector to reject the Eternal and assemble his troops.

At the same time the Brethren multitudes emerged from their Citadel and headed to the Avengers Mansion where the Collector killed Olar, in order to prevent the Avengers from discovering any-thing about his studies on him.

The Brethren attacked the Mansion, and ultimately, Ector wrestled with the Collector, who easily repelled his assailant and revealed his role in their escape.

As the Brethren learned about their origins, the Collector started blasting them, removing their sentience and spreading them to infect Earth, with the Avengers unable to repel them.

At that point, the Fool was torment-ed by his psychic link to his kind's group consciousness. Vision suggested that Ector and the Fool could reason with the fading sentience of their fellow species and that the Brethren were experiencing a primitive form of phenomena close of the Eternals' Uni-Mind.

Under the tutelage of Sersi, and protected by Quasar's force field, Thane and the Fool were able to form the Uni-Mind, allegedly proving that the Celestials had cared in the creation of the Brethren. The Uni-Mind then assaulted the Collector, and overwhelmed him to the point he asked for the Watcher's help, in vain. He was quickly destroyed, but that last effort resulted in the destruction of the Uni-Mind, while the Collector in fact teleport-ed back to his ship.

The strain of the Uni-Mind cost the lives of both the last Brethren Fool and Thane Ector, with the latter passing away in Sersi's arms while obtaining a last kiss. Captain America epilogue that the Brethren had in the end become what Ector wanted them to be.

Allegedly destroyed, the Brethren had, in fact, departed Earth, and came back to the Collector's ship with the intent of leaving a deadly surprise for him in the freeing of most of his collection, including a Mondani carrying a deadly virus.

Sersi forming a Uni-Mind with the Brethren was considered proof of her instability by her fellow Eternals, as cross-species Uni-Mind are supposed to be forbidden.

Traditions and Religion
The tradition (part of a religion to an unknown god) of the Brethren is that native blood must be spilled on each planet fall.

The Brethren formerly took no prisoners, but Thane Ector derogated to that tradition to take Sersi.

They could marry and breed only among themselves, and were not allowed to consort with outsiders, such as Thane Ector intended to do with Sersi.

Their holy text was also forbidden to non-Brethren.

The Brethren also abandoned their elders when they are not fit enough anymore to follow, with such treatment being considered an honorable death.

Thane and Fool
The Thane was the leader of this race. They are considered to be the most perfect of the Brethren and led them.

The Fool was allegedly a throw-back who should had been killed at birth, not being a "true Brethren".

Each Thane always gave birth to two brothers, with one leading: the Thane, while the other was to go mad: The Fool, and remain by his side. In this case, the Fool considered that the Thane was the one to go insane.

When a boy who is destined to become Thane reaches his 15th year, he, along with his brother, are told the truth about the Brethren, and are sworn to keep it secret to their people.

Both are granted limited telepathic powers to control the blood lust of the Brethren in battle.

HISTORY
Originating from the High Evolutionary's Counter-Earth, this version of Reed Richards lived a life similar to his Earth-616 counter-part. In his university days he attended the University of California along with Victor von Doom. When one of Doom's experiments blew up in his face, horribly scarring him, Reed stood by his friend and convinced him to continue his scientific studies. Reed later hijacked a space shuttle with his world's versions of Ben Grimm, Sue Storm and her brother Johnny. Through the machinations of the Man-Beast, only Reed was mutated by a Cosmic Ray storm that the ship flew through. Ben and Johnny only suffered minor injuries due to their exposure, but Sue remained in a coma for many years. Reed Richards continued his research, choosing to lose himself in his work so that he could forget his loss of Sue.

During a full moon, Reed Richards found that the cosmic rays he was exposed to caused him to trans-form into a creature that he dubbed the Brute. Eventually, Richards gained control over this and learned how to trigger the transformation through force of will. Richards was then tracked down by the Man-Beast, who sent him to San Francisco to track down and destroy Man-Beast's nemesis Adam Warlock who was operating in the area. During the course of the battle, the Brute nearly drowned Warlock. However the battle ended with Warlock using his Soul Gem to cure Richards of being the Brute.

The Man-Beast recaptured Richards and restored Richard's ability to transform into the Brute, then sent him after Warlock a second time. This time having full access to his powers, the Brute soon found he hungered for more energy and stole his old colleague Victor von Doom's earth-borer device in order to absorb Counter-Earth's geo-thermal energy, threatening to cause the planet to enter an ice age. When Warlock failed to stop the Brute alone, von Doom turned Counter-Earth's radiation shield into a radiation absorber, causing it to absorb the Brute's energies reverting him back into Reed Richards. This also caused the earth-borer to explode, killing von Doom in the process.

Richards relocated to Florida where he worked closely with the military. He chanced to be on hand to witness the battle between the High Evolutionary and Galactus when the latter was attempting to consume Counter-Earth. During the struggle between Galactus and Earth-616's Fantastic Four (led by Reed's Earth-616 counterpart), Counter-Earth's Reed piloted a rocket out to the High Evolutionary's ship, and was bombarded with Cosmic Rays again, restoring his Brute powers; he also suffered a blow to the head that turned him evil. When the FF defeated Galactus they returned to Earth, unaware that the Counter-Earth version of their leader had stowed away on their ship.

Arriving on Earth, Counter-Earth Reed Richards came across a newspaper ad by the Frightful Four who had taken over the Baxter Building and were seeking to recruit a new fourth member onto their team. Despite interference from Tigra and Thundra, the Brute helped the Frightful Four defeat the heroes and take them captive. However, despite efforts to ransom off the FF, the Frightful Four's plot fell apart due to the Impossible Man's interference with the Baxter Building's electrical systems, freeing the FF and their comrades. While the other members of the Frightful Four were soundly defeated, the Brute defeated Mr. Fantastic in one-on-one combat, switched their costumes and tossed his counterpart into the Negative Zone, then impersonated him.

The Fantastic Four were easily fooled as the Brute's deception came at a time when Reed had lost his powers; they found Reed's behaviour unusual but dismissed it as stress from "losing his powers". Now presented with an alternate version of his true love, the Richards of Counter-Earth sought to romance Sue. However, after sharing a kiss, Sue became convinced that the man she was kissing was not her husband, but his evil counterpart from Counter-Earth. She turned to Alicia Masters to confirm this, but while there Agatha Harkness kidnapped Sue's son Franklin.

When Thing brought the recently defeated Metalloid to the Baxter Building, Counter-Reed sent FF allies Thundra, Tigra and Impossible Man back to the battle site to investigate, and tricked Ben and Johnny into going into the Negative Zone, trapping them there as well. When Sue confronted Counter-Reed with news of Franklin's abduction, his lack of concern convinced her that he was not her husband. With his cover blown, Reed changed into the Brute once more and tossed Sue out of one of the windows to the ground below. Sue was rescued by Tigra, Impossible Man and Thundra, and the three women went after the Brute. The Brute found his hands full as the Scavenger android traveled from the Negative Zone on summons from the Mad Thinker, with Reed, Johnny and Ben not far be-hind seeking to reclaim Annihilus' Cosmic Control Rod. Seeing the powerless Reed fighting to save his wife, the Counter-Reed regained his sanity and seemingly sacrificed his life plunging into the Negative Zone to return to Cosmic Control Rod to Annihilus.

The Brute abandoned the Cosmic Control Rod and floated near the Negative Zone's Distortion Area, where, instead of being destroyed, he was rescued by the Tyannans, creatures that were long thought extinct in the Negative Zone. His evil ways returning, the Brute tried to control the Tyannans and attempted to take over the Negative Zone and open a portal between the positive and negative matter universes. This plot was foiled by the combined efforts of the Fantastic Four, Annihilus and Blastaar. The FF returned home and left the two Negative Zone rulers to deal with the Brute.

Surviving, the Brute was somehow pulled from the Negative Zone to Earth-1123 by that reality's Fantastic Four. Trapping them in the Negative Zone, the Brute Richards posed as that reality's Reed Richards, using his counterpart's fame to become the President of the United States, and clashing with Wolverine of Earth-811 and Spider-Girl of Earth-1122 who had come to warn him of the threat posed by the Celestial embryo growing in the core of that Earth. They were rescued by Namor and Susan McKenzie leading to the Brute vowing to get revenge against Atlantis for this attack.

Brute later appeared as an inmate of Pleasant Hill.

Victor Borkowski was born and raised in Fairbury, Illinois. He lived a normal life despite his reptilian features, a result of his being a mutant. The close-knit community accepted the boy for who he was until anti-mutant sentiment began to spread. For his own safety, his parents sent him to the Xavier Institute where he quickly excelled academically.

When the adviser system was set up at the Xavier Institute, Victor originally chose Wolverine, but quickly realized that was not a good fit and then switched to Karma as his adviser. However, during the formation of training squads throughout the school, he was re-assigned to Northstar's Alpha Squadron. At first, he was quite friendly with Hellion and the other Hellions, but he became closer to his teammates. He was especially close to Northstar and was deeply affected by his death. (He, like most of the students, was unaware of Northstar's resurrection until Northstar was sent by Serafina to kill the X-Men). Victor is gay, and Northstar helped him to come to terms with his sexuality.

When Northstar attacked the Institute, Anole found him and was able to temporarily snap him out of the mind control set in place by the Children of the Vault. However, Victor's joy at seeing his former mentor was short-lived, as Jean-Paul returned to his mind-controlled status and viciously beat him.

Anole was one of only 27 students at the Institute who didn't lose his mutant powers in the event known as M-Day. The squad system was dissolved, and the remaining stu-dents were merged into one group. Shortly afterwards, Emma Frost set up an all-out brawl among the remaining students to determine who would become the team of X-Men trainees; Victor was not selected, yet still resided and trained at the Institute.

Anole was asked by Mercury to cover the raid of the New X-Men against Nimrod at Forge's Dallas home, and was interrogated by Val Cooper and O*N*E Colonel Reyes. He was consequently orange-flagged by the O*N*E afterwards.

Victor was seen with many of the other students and Rockslide telling scary stories. Later, all the students started listening to a tale Blindfold made up for them. They soon realized however that her story wasn't make-believe, and she apologized just before the group was sucked down into the dimension of Limbo. They were attacked by a large group of demons and Victor argued with Rockslide, saying that he was supposed to lead them, since he was a "New X-Man". When Rockslide was mysteriously shattered, Victor attempted to take charge, rallying the students around the defenseless Blindfold, only to have his right arm severed at the shoulder by a demon. He wondered why he wasn't dead from losing too much blood and why it didn't hurt. Anole grew a huge reptilian arm that replaced the one he had lost. It seemed his mutation also endowed him with the ability to recover limbs, though they emerged as more mutated/reptilian versions of the originals. The arm itself was spiky, resembling his scalp, with razor sharp claws and appeared to be immensely powerful. After defeating Belasco, Anole and Pixie were made members of the New X-Men squad on recommendation of Rockslide, who threatened to quit if they weren't appointed.

Victor was later seen playing pool while Rockslide and X-23 tried to convince him to cut off his other arm. When he refused Rockslide called him a sissy. Anole got of-fended and pushed him out the window while Rockslide pro-claimed, "I swear I didn't know! Don't be so sensitive!" After Rock-slide refused to blow himself up Anole called him a sissy to get him to do it. He then offered to try and blow up Santo himself. Santo later outed Victor as gay to some of the other students, though Loa (a fellow member of Alpha Squadron) was already aware and said that everyone knew.

When Professor Xavier detected the first mutant birth since M-Day, the X-Men went to the baby's birth-place to protect the child. They found the town destroyed by the Purifiers, who abhorred the child as the anti-Christ prophesied by Nimrod and the late Reverend William Stryker and sought to kill the baby. Upon discovery that the child was not dead, but missing, the X-Men divided into teams to search for it. Some of the New X-Men and Armor decided to launch a preemptive strike against the Purifiers to see if they had the baby, as well as to seek revenge for their murdered classmates. Anole sneaked into the base using his camouflage powers and while he checked the Purifiers' computers, Rictor, who was undercover, con-fronted him. They were ambushed by the Reavers, who mortally wounded Hellion in the fight. Pixie managed to teleport the team out and they were spread between Washington and the Institute. It's currently unknown if he suffered any injuries.

After Cyclops disbanded the X-Men as well as the school, Victor received a warm welcome from the citizens of his hometown, stating "The town practically threw me a parade." Northstar, contacted by Cyclops, found Anole, who went into hiding after he accidentally attacked his own father. Northstar discovered Anole on a tree limb beside a tree house, the teenager not too happy to see his former mentor. At first, Jean-Paul made jokes, thinking Victor was having a problem with fitting in, as both a mutant and as a gay teen. Victor explained that his town accepted him for who he was - his problems came from Northstar, along with the other X-Men, for stealing the New X-Men's innocence. He told Northstar that they should have been playing video games and going on dates, "...not fighting the Devil!" Victor placed a lizard-like stuffed animal at the base of the tree with a note reading "Mom and Dad. I'm sorry and I love you. Vic-tor." He told Northstar that his parents would look for him at the tree house first once they began searching for him, and he called the tree house his own X-Mansion. Just before Anole departed, he elbowed Jean-Paul in the face - similar to how Northstar attacked him in the past - and told him to tell all of the former X-Men not to come looking for him.

Despite telling off Northstar, Victor accepted Dani Moonstar's offer to join the Young X-Men and move to San Francisco.

Soon after arriving in San Francis-co, Anole assisted Jonas Graymalkin, another member of the new Young X-Men team, with coming to terms with his sexuality, which had led him to being buried by his bigoted father nearly 200 years earlier. Anole and Graymalkin formed a close friendship, and Anole took on some responsibility for taking care of Graymalkin.

With the Young X-Men, Anole battled Krakoa and defeated of the Y-Men.

Anole was an instrumental member of the X-Men in combating the Skrull invasion of Earth by using his ability to camouflage. During the initial invasion, he and the Stepford Cuckoos helped evacuate the San Francisco General Hospital and later helped take intel photos of the Skrull ships.

Anole was with Beast and others during the Proposition X rallies which led to the San Francisco mutant riots. He was with the X-Men against the Dark Avengers and the Dark X-Men. During the final battle, he was shot in the abdomen with one of Hawkeye's arrows. He and Graymalkin were the ones to raise the X-Flag on Utopia.

On Utopia, Anole, Loa, and Rock-slide went looking for help, claiming that a ghost had kidnapped Mercury. Cyclops claimed that the X-Men were too busy to deal with it because of trade negotiations. Magneto stepped up and told them he would investigate, since negotiations were never his strong suit. He took the three kids into the sub-levels. The kids were unsure if they should trust him, which seemed founded when he allowed Sentinels to attack them. He eventually took the Sentinels out. When they found Mercury, they also found a recording that Magneto had set up in the case of his death. Magneto sent all the kids away. The recording said that mutants could never live in coexistence with man, and needed a place for themselves. Magneto smiled and turned off the machine. When the kids asked what it was, Magneto said it was just an old ghost, and that he gave it what it wanted.

Anole continued his Danger Room training while on Utopia, and, along with Graymalkin and Rock-slide, helped orient Dagger to X-Men training. Later Anole and the other Young X-Men helped save both Dagger and her partner Cloak from a group of anti-mutant terrorists.

Anole, Rockslide, Dust, Trance, and Loa visited the mainland to see Jubilee. Jubilee was uncertain about going to the island, since she was no longer a mutant. The kids were extremely happy to see her. Rockslide said that Anole had a crush on her. Then Surge appeared and started arguing with Jubilee and told her she should not be there. Jubilee realized that she was still a mutant on the inside, even if she did not have powers, and showed this to Surge. Surge and the other kids left, and Surge offered her to join them, but Jubilee declined. Jubilee then finished a letter to give to Wolverine and left the docks.

Anole and the younger X-Men were shown with Cannonball on Utopia teaching them how to plant their own food, to which Anole said that they were wasting their time and that they could just buy their food from the store. Anole looked at Magik expecting her to agree with him, however she didn't respond and instead teleported him to Limbo for five days without food or water. Eventually she returned with water for him. Anole told her that he had learned his lesson and that without planting their own food, the mutant race could starve to death, but Magik responded that she did not intend to teach him a lesson, she had sent him to limbo because she was sick of looking at him. Magik teleported them both back to Utopia where Anole resumed his work in farming.

When Pixie, Armor, X-23, Mercury, and Blindfold went missing, Anole and Rockslide went in search of them. They found Blindfold alone in the girls washroom. Rockslide accidentally broke the door down. Anole and Santo talked to Ruth, but found out nothing. They took Ruth to see Emma. Together with Em-ma, Rockslide, Nightcrawler, and Psylocke, Anole was able to help save the hostage mutants from Saturnine.

After the return of the Mutant Messiah and during Bastion's Nimrod attacks of San Fransisco, Anole joined a team of X-Men in rescuing Magik from Limbo after she was sent there by Bastion's forces. Cannonball chose Anole for the mission to provide moral support for Pixie, whose teleportation abil-ity they required to travel to Limbo. Anole and Pixie were extremely reluctant to risk themselves for Magik, who they believed did not deserve to be saved, but decided to go because they are heroes. In Limbo, Anole fended off demons and bickered with Cannonball; he also took out his teammate Dazzler when she was corrupted by Limbo's influence. In the end, Pixie and Anole somewhat resolved their issues with Magik and the team returned home.

After returning from Limbo and the defeat of Bastion, Anole accompanied Indra, Rogue, Magneto, and Loa to Mumbai, India when the Gavaskar family called Indra back home. While there Anole helped defeat the Children of the Vault and saved Mumbai from destruction.

In the wake of the Nimrod Sentinels siege and Vampire invasion and with the dawning of a brighter age, Rockslide was able to convince Anole to patrol the streets of San Fransisco at night as masked crime fighters. Anole and Rock-slide were successful in keeping their identities secret (commonly being confused for a Moon Knight Skrull and The Thing in a Jason Vorrhees-esque hockey mask) until their crime fighting activity caught the attention of Mister Negative who promptly sent the Serpent Society out to assassinate them.

Anole was the first mutant to con-tract the mutant flu created by Lobe and Sublime Corporation. Because of his physical mutation he began showing signs early on and was one of the hardest hit. When Cyclops decided to send the X-Men to attack Sublime Corp., Anole was one of the most determined to be a part of the team.

Anole was among the New X-Men members that protected Cyclops during the attack on Utopia by the Evolutionaries. Anole was also among the other students that saved Irma from the attack of Toad, Dragoness, Bliss, and Litter-bug.

During the Schism event, Anole was one of the X-Men who helped to defeat the Sentinel attacking Utopia. Afterward he was in the group that followed Wolverine back to the ruins in Westchester County, to rebuild the Xavier Institute.

After several adventures, Victor graduated as a full X-Man from the Jean Grey School and became Chairman of the Board of Worthington Industries.

In the wake of a massive wave of anti-mutant sentiment combined with the discovery that the Terrigen Mists spread in the atmosphere were harmful to mutants, Anole, as well as many other mutants, were sheltered on a sanctuary called X-Haven. Once the X-Men were re-built, Anole and a few other young mutants (Ernst, Glob, and No-Girl) were assembled by Colossus to be trained in order to become X-Men.

When Cerebra detected the sudden appearance of six hundred new mutant signatures in Tokyo, Storm sent Colossus and his team of young mutants to investigate. Cerebra took them to the ware-house where all the mutant signatures were coming from, and to their surprise, it served as the base of the Sugar Man, an old enemy of the X-Men. Sugar Man had genetically engineered six hundred mutant embryos in total isolation from the Terrigen Mists and planned to send them to the future. There they would be safe from the M-Pox caused by the Mists and would grow to become the next genera-tion of mutants, with Sugar Man as their leader. However, Colossus' interference separated Sugar Man from his ark and Colossus, along with his team, ended up being teleported with the embryos to the future.

Arriving a thousand of years into Earth's future, Colossus and his team ended up on Omega World, composed of what had remained of Earth after Apocalypse's uprising. After Colossus sacrificed him-self in order to save his students from the Horsemen of Apocalypse, Anole and the other young mutants spent an entire year fighting their way through Apocalypse's Omega World to try and find a way to return to their home, but in vain. While wandering a destroyed New York City, now home to one of the few races that survived Apocalypse's trials, the Moloids, Anole and his friends encountered the X-Men, who had followed them through the timestream. They were attacked by the Horsemen of Apocalypse and their newest member, Colossus, soon afterwards.

When Kitty Pryde relocated the school to Central Park in New York City and renamed it the Xavier Institute for Mutant Education and Outreach, Anole decided to attend as a student. He would later defend the Institute and mutantkind from many threats including Daken, Mojo's invasion, the Purifiers' assault on the school, and M-Plate.

Anole was later apart of Kitty's training squad, along with Oya, Rockslide, Pixie, and Armor tasked with stopping the Mutant Liberation Front from destroying a lab that contained the mutant vaccine. But before the mission could start, X-Man kidnapped Kitty by phasing her through the Blackbird, short-circuiting the entire jet and crashing it into the lab they were meant to save. From then on, the injured team is ambushed by the MLF while a Legion-possessed Multiple Man ran up to a nearly comatose Anole to question him on where Kitty had gone.

Anole was later brought to Beast's lab after the MLF were stopped by reinforcements. Unknowingly mind-controlled by Emma Frost, he stole a sample of mutant vaccine that was held in the lab to give to O*N*E. Upon being confronted on it, Anole confessed to Beast that he wanted mutants to have a chance to cure themselves so they never have to face hate for having physical mutations. Pixie then teleported over to the lab to recruit Anole and Beast against X-Man in the final battle on Quadra Island. When X-Man realized that his vision for the world would never come about with the X-Men around, he made them vanish in an instant, including Anole.

Anole and the mutants that vanished were sent to a different reality created by Nate Grey and a Life Seed, a world where everyone on Earth was a mutant and relation-ships were strongly discouraged or illegal. Glob was a student at the Summers Institute for Higher Learning in Westchester County. Like its mainstream reality counterpart, Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, the Summers Institute taught mutant children how to control their mutant abilities.

Anole was one of the students who were part of the Summers Institute's Medical Division at the Summers Institute for Higher Learning. Anole was also a follow-er of Murshid En Sabah Nur along-side Bling!. Together they burned down a building in order to disrupt what they called a "fascist regime." Anole is able to escape but Bling! is caught by Blob and re-programmed.

Anole later took a vial of Unveil in order to remember the resistance pact he had made with Maggott. He tasks Rockslide with looking up records of a 'Life Seed' while he went to go meet the rest of the resistance. The resistance, also comprised of Sister Tromette, Brother Hammil, and Scripture, reveal to Anole that to fully stop X-Man's brainwashing, he would have to bomb the Hope Summers Memorial Library.

Glob and Armor told Anole him that they knew what he was up to an if he continued to rebel against X-Man then he would disappear. Later that same day, Hisako confronted him in his dorm over his dangerous allegiances. Before he could explain himself, Pixie showed up to see an empty vial of Unveil and promptly place him under arrest before she was knocked unconscious by Armor, allowing Victor to escape. Anole meets back up with Maggott and the rebels. Japheth reminded Vic-tor that the X-Tracts' message of love and acceptance had gotten them nowhere and only radical action would change things. Anole later followed through with blowing up the Library.

Glob, Armor, and Rockslide rescued Anole from the remains of the Library before getting chased and successfully evading Department X. Glob, who had all his pre-Age of X-Man memories, brought the team to this reality's version of Quadra Island to find the Life Seed to no avail. Pixie then showed up with the Marvelous X-Men to place everyone under arrest. Jailed in the Danger Room Prison Complex with his memories wiped, he accepts Beast's offer to join his gang of mutants with physical mutations. Psylocke, fed up with X-Man's makeshift reality, unleashes everyone's memories that she had taken away which creates a riot between the prisoners and the guards.

After Nate Grey transformed all of the mutants back into their main-stream counterparts, Anole was shown standing in front of a portal in the Danger Room Prison Com-plex with Armor and Glob Herman, ready to return to their regular uni-verse.

Anole later became a resident of the new mutant nation of Krakoa. He and the rest of the Krakoa celebrated when Krakoa was recognized as an official nation.

HISTORY
Aron was a relatively young member of the Watchers, an alien race of immortal observers of the uni-verse. When Uatu, the Watcher assigned to Earth (and incidentally Aron's uncle), was brought to the Watcher home-world for trial, Aron became intrigued by Uatu's break from the Watcher's traditional code of non-interference. Initially hesitant, the elder Watchers allowed Uatu to mentor Aron while watching Earth. The rebel Watcher Uatu could be a better teacher for a re-bel youngster than other, more conservative Watchers. Uatu instructed Aron on the non-interference and the passive observation.

Excited about adventure, Aron attempted to interfere on behalf of the superhero team Fantastic Four, while they were aiding the race of Inhumans who lived on the moon. Aron was prevented by Uatu. However, Aron decided that he wanted to live adventures, and the first step to do so was avoiding being noticed by the Watchers. He devised a means to do so, with a special uniform.

Aron secretly traveled to Earth and found residence in Empire State Building from which he watched the Fantastic Four's activities. Aron found out about the formation of a new version of the villain team the Frightful Four. Their leader, the Wizard, decided that they needed new members and sent an invitation for new, powerful members. Aron formed an alliance with the Frightful Four with the robot Drag-on Man in tow, so that he could collect tissue samples from the Fantastic Four. Although the Frightful Four were in the bad end of a fight against the Fantastic Four, Aron's timely arrival changed the tide: Aron defeated the Fantastic Four nearly single-handedly.

The Wizard tried to order Aron to destroy the Fantastic Four, but Aron was not interested. Aron took this opportunity to take cell samples from the unconscious Fantastic Four to make clones of them. Soon, the Fantastic Four were awake and defeated the Frightful Four, but Aron's clones were ready.

Soon after, Aron replaced the Fantastic Four, Frightful Four, and the Ms. Marvel (Sharon Ventura) with their respective clones, placing the others in suspended animation (The false Fantastic Four included the "spiky" version of the Thing and the rocky version of Ms. Marvel). With these pawns, Aron acted out his desires for adventure, allowing the clones to relive the real team's earliest adventures.

But Aron also managed to spoil the Fantastic Four's reputation after they performed several acts against the public interest, because the clones were fanatic and lacking the mercy of the originals. Nobody suspected from the change, but the team managed to turn Mole Man hostile again and tried to impose a Fantastitax of 50$ to every New Yorker.

The superteam known as the Avengers investigated the Four's behavior, uncovered Aron, and released his captives, who defeat-ed their counterparts. Aron allowed everyone to return to their respective places on Earth, and placed the clones in suspended animation before teleporting his entire facility to a cave on Jasper National Park, Canada.

There, they discovered that the Fantastic Four and the Frightful Four had escaped and were fighting again, while Aron was frozen and helpless due to his own actions. Both teams of Fantastic Four believed to be the original and they fought, but the real Fantastic Four prevailed, and defeated the Frightful Four too.

Aron then revealed that he had never been really helpless. He teleported the Frightful Four to the Vault prison and the false Fantastic Four to his own headquarter, where they would be placed in suspended animation. Aron would analyze their dreams and get the excitement he longed. He then teleported all his base to an unrevealed location, probably still on Earth.

At another time, the villain Doctor Doom managed to discover Aron, and siphoned a portion of Aron's cosmic energy for himself.

In an attempt to regain it, Aron masqueraded as Uatu in order to manipulate the Fantastic Four to defeat Dr. Doom and have him relinquish his power. Once the elder Watchers learned of Aron's disobedience to the code of non-intervention, they brought him to the Watcher home-world to stand trial, but he managed to escape their grasp.

Later Aron was involved in a scheme with an evil Reed Richards from another timeline who called himself the Dark Raider. Eventually Uatu converted Aron into energy into recreating The One after he was destroyed by the Celestials.

HISTORY
Basil Elks was a common criminal from Norristown, Pennsylvania who was trying to steal a mystical gem known as the Alpha Stone from a museum when he was shot at by a security guard. Instead of striking Elks, the bullet hit and shattered the gem.

The shards of the gem struck Elks, transforming him into the Basilisk: his skin became green and scaly and his eyes large and red.

As the Basilisk he possessed superhuman physical attributes and could generate and manipulate energy via beams projected from his eyes; this energy could generate heat and ice and allowed him to fly. The gem that empowered him was actually a Kree artifact called an Alpha Stone which had crash-landed on the Earth millennia ago along with another gem, the Omega Stone. The Basilisk sought the second gem to increase his powers. He managed to obtain it during a fight with Spider-Man, Captain Marvel and Mister Fantastic, but fell into a pit of magma.

Instead of being killed by the lava, Basilisk was encased by the Omega stone and was swept away in the lava stream. He was eventually found by Moloids who began worshiping the stone. He was freed when a Moloid touched the stone, causing a volcano to rise in the Savage Land. There he fought the Thing before causing another volcano to rise in the Hudson River. He was defeated by Spider-Man and the Thing and once again fell into magma and was petrified.

Upon resurfacing, he decided to attack Four Freedoms Plaza, the headquarters of the Fantastic Four, the group to which the Thing belonged. However as soon as he appeared he was shot and killed by the vigilante called the Scourge of the Underworld.

Years later, the Basilisk was resurrected by the Hood to murder Frank Castle. He was recruited in the Hood's criminal army. He was one of a number of villains who took part in a mass jailbreak from the superhuman holding facility called the Raft. He was apparently the cellmate of the Man Bull for a time, and the pair briefly assisted Hercules against a common foe. Basilisk teamed up with the Looter to steal the Ellsworth Sonic Reducer for Hydra but were stopped by Spider-Man.

BACKGROUND
Real Name: Frederick “Fred” J. Dukes
Occupation: Former Professional criminal, terrorist, circus performer, federal government special opera-tive
Legal Status: Citizen of the United States with a criminal record.
Identity: Public
Other Known Aliases: Horseman of Bounty
Place of Birth: Lubbock, Texas
Marital Status: Single
Known Relatives: None
Base of Operations: Krakoa, Pa-cific Ocean; formerly Mutant Town; Freedom Force HQ, the Pentagon, Arlington, Virginia; Department X Headquarters, New York, Age of X-Man
Past Group Affiliations: Formerly Horsemen of Salvation, Department X, Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, X-Cell, X-Corps, Factor Three, Freedom Force, Defenders; frequent partner of Unus the Untouchable
Present Group Affiliation:

KNOWN POWERS:
Immovability: Fred can bond him-self to whatever surface he is standing on (usually the ground) through force of will (requires one round of concentration). Once he sets this mono-directional gravitational field, he is literally an immovable object. It requires Class 1000 or better Strength plus a red Strength FEAT roll to budge him, and even that pulls up the ground around him. Fred can never be Slammed or Stunned during combat, no matter what martial art or attack column is used.

Note: If Blob can be caught off guard and knocked off-balance (perhaps when he is moving), and his feet isolated (perhaps by being surrounded in a force field or anti-gravity device), he cannot adhere to a surface.

Bodily Expansion: Blob can expand all of the cells of his body's fatty covering at once. This destroys any tight-fitting body restraints of Excellent (20) Material Strength or less (if he is sound in simple iron chains, iced up, etc.)

Body Armor: Blob has Unearthly (100) body armor against physical attacks, cold, and tire. He has Monstrous (75) body armor against energy attacks. His eyes, nose, mouth, and ears are not so protected, and he may be temporarily blinded or hurt by called shots in these areas.

Soft Body: Blob can absorb physical impacts without harm to him-self. Similarly, he can absorb and hold a being who is physically attacking him (with a fist, kick, etc.). This requires a Psyche FEAT roll to relax his body around his opponent. Once grabbed, the opponent is held (as in wrestling) with Monstrous (75) Strength. Blob's skin is so resilient and replaces its cells so quickly that he has Monstrous (75) protection vs. skin diseases.

CONTACTS: Unus, Magneto, Mystique, Freedom Force, Toad

HISTORY
Fred Dukes, alias the "Blob" is a mutant whose latent superhuman powers manifested themselves when he reached puberty. His major weaknesses were his short temper, lack of foresight, his lack of intelligence, and his easily-manipulated self-esteem. Thinking of himself as no more than, in his own words, "an extra-strong freak," the Blob used his superhuman mutant powers as a performer in a carnival.

The original X-Men came to the carnival in their everyday identities to invite him to meet with their mentor, Professor Charles Xavier. Attracted to the beautiful young X-Man Jean Grey, the Blob accepted, and went with the X-Men to Xavier's Mansion. There, Xavier asked the Blob to join the X-Men, but the Blob arrogantly refused. Xavier then knew he had to use his men-tal powers to erase the Blob's knowledge of the X-Men's true identities. But the Blob had no intention of letting this happen, and, after fighting the X-Men, escaped back to the carnival.

The Blob had learned through meeting Xavier that he himself was a superhumanly powerful mutant. Believing himself to be superior to normal people, the Blob took over the carnival. Knowing that the X-Men considered him dangerous because he knew who they really were, the Blob decided to strike out at them first. He led the other members of the carnival on an attack on Xavier's mansion. The Blob hoped to steal whatever scientific discoveries and special weapons that the X-Men might possess and use them against ordinary humans. However, the X-Men defeated the Blob and his allies, and Xavier wiped out their memories of the X-Men.

Later, Magneto attempted to recruit the Blob for his Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. A severe blow to the head restored the Blob's memory of the X-Men, and he joined Magneto's Brotherhood in an attack on them. In the midst of battle, Magneto launched a powerful torpedo at the X-Men, not caring that the Blob was in the way. Torpedoes struck the Blob but did not seriously injure him. The Brotherhood escaped, and the Blob, feeling betrayed, swore never to trust anyone again and returned to his job with the carnival.

Months later, under the behind-the-scenes influence of the alien Lucifer, the Blob met another super-humanly powerful mutant, Unus the Untouchable, and the two of them attempted to frame their mutual enemies, the X-Men, as bank robbers. This was the start of the Blob's long and close friendship with Unus, which ended only with Unus's apparent death several years later. The two mutants next joined Factor Three, an organization of mutants that attempted world conquest.

Blob and Unus became members of a new Brotherhood of Evil Mutants along with Mastermind. This Brotherhood was later claimed by Magneto as he prepared to create Alpha, the Ultimate Mutant. Alpha turned against the Brotherhood, however, turning Blob and the others into infants. Months later, the Shi'ar agent Eric the Red restored Magneto to normal on Muir Island. The radiation he used leaked through and affected Blob and the others as well. They briefly continued operating as the Brotherhood before splitting up.

Eventually, the Blob was recruited by Mystique for her new Brother-hood of Evil Mutants. Although the Blob continued to operate independently of Mystique's organization since then, he remained a member of the group. Mystique soon became aware of the United States government's increasing anti-mutant activity, and offered the Brotherhood's services to the government, renaming the group "Freedom Force." The Blob participated in Freedom Force's first official mission for the government: the capture of Magneto, his former leader in the original Brotherhood.

As a member of Freedom Force, the Blob was involved in missions that continued to bring him into conflict with superhuman crime fighters, most notably the X-Men, X-Factor, and the Avengers. The Blob enjoyed the fact that he could continue indulging his violent tendencies and fighting his old foes while drawing a government paycheck. However, after a disastrous mission to the Middle East, the government disbanded Freedom Force, and the Blob was once again a free agent.

The Blob soon joined yet another version of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, headed up by his old teammate from the original Brotherhood, the Toad. This team was defeated by the outlaw mutant strike team called X-Force.

The Blob allied himself with another mutant, the Mimic, and battled members of X-Force under the orders of an as yet unknown benefactor. Later, Blob was apparently recruited by Onslaught, who taught him the mass-controlling, quasi-shapeshifting aspects of his powers. Blob later got some help in controlling those powers from Sledge, for which Blob owed him some favors. Months afterward, Blob was among the mutants comprising the second incarnation of the Brotherhood of Mutants, who were on a mission to find Professor X so that he could protect them from the rampages of the sentient Cerebro. Finally, Blob was re-recruited into the Brotherhood by Mystique to take down X-51, the Machine Man. Later, he was involved in the group's failed attempt to kill Senator Kelly.

Following that mission, Blob was incarcerated but was sprung months later by Multiple Man, who brought him into Banshee's X-Corps. Blob resisted Banshee at first, but a well-placed sonic scream put him in his place. Thanks to Mastermind's telepathy, his villainous impulses were con-trolled, and he functioned as the group's strong man until Mystique released Mastermind. Blob then attacked his "heroic" teammates and was finally put down by Stacy X's pheromone control. It is unknown whether he was arrested or detained, but months later, after he was "left out" of a Brotherhood at-tack on the X-Men, he appeared in a therapy session with a Dr. Garrison, who advised him to be true to himself. Garrison, himself a mutant with pheromone powers, apparent-ly induced Blob to attack the X-Mansion. Needless to say, Blob was defeated, mostly by the students, who managed to put him to sleep with telepathy and pheromones.

While at the Starlite-Casino in Atlantic City, the Blob was one of the thousands of mutants to lose their powers due to the Scarlet Witch's spell. His skin did not shrink to compensate the loss of his bloated mass, however, giving him huge folds of loose skin all over his body and causing him to become suicidal.

Back in New York, he came to meet, in a back-alley, Sally Floyd who was working on the Ex-Mutant Diaries. Unwilling to be interviewed himself, he gave her the tip to investigate the Ravencroft Institute.

Eventually coming to blame the government for M-Day, he joined other former mutants in the terrorist X-Cell. After mistakenly getting into a fight with Rictor and Multiple Man and getting in a cheap shot on Rictor, he stole a car. With fellow X-Cell member, Fatale, he attempted to flee, eventually hitting an open manhole (left open earlier in the day by Strong Guy and Wolfsbane) and causing the car to crash.

After getting rid of his excess skin folds somehow and reinventing himself as reality TV star Freddie Dukes, he was later seen with Magneto as he went to the High Evolutionary about regaining his powers.

With his powers seemingly re-stored by the MGH produced from Dazzler, he joined Mystique in her attempts to turn Madripoor into a mutant sanctuary. After hearing that Magneto was also on the is-land, Blob welcomed him and brought him to meet Mystique. To Blob's shock, however, Magneto reacted violently to the plan, believing that Mystique and the others were traitors to their species, in part due to allowing the use of Mutant Growth Hormone to run rampant in the streets to fund their operations. He heavily injured Blob and the Brotherhood, and left after making their base collapse. Later Blob was shown checking out the condition of the comatose Dazzler, as he needed more MGH to boost his failing powers, when he was interrupted by Mystique and Sabre-tooth.

When Miss Sinister started experimenting with a power-bestowing virus known as Mothervine, she abducted Blob and tested it on him. Fred's unconscious body was left behind by Miss Sinister in her laboratory so that the X-Men would find it when they investigated her activities. The Blob woke up shortly after Angel and Jimmy Hudson broke into the laboratory, and he attacked them. During the fight he manifested a secondary mutation caused by Mothervine, the ability to stretch his body. How-ever, it quickly went out of control and he painfully melted into a literal blob that went down a drain.

Blob's body was reconstituted, and he appeared alongside many other mutants with secondary powers at the service of Miss Sinister. He helped carry out an attack against Magneto's X-Men to stop them from interfering with Miss Sinister's plans to release Mothervine on a global scale with the help of an alliance she had formed with Havok, Emma Frost and Bastion. In the end, Miss Sinister's mutants were defeated by the X-Men and restrained.

In the reality created by Nate Grey and a Life Seed, a world where everyone on Earth was a mutant and relationships were strongly discouraged or illegal, Blob was the leader of Department X, the police force in charge of investigating and arresting dissident mutants. Counter to his mainstream personality, this reality's version of Dukes was a kind and caring soul, invested in the wellbeing of his team and mutants on the whole. He also was an excellent baker.

One day Department X was tasked with capturing recurrent love criminals Luke and Nezumi Sen. After a brief skirmish in the couple's home and their subsequent capture, Nezumi revealed to Blob while being loaded into the police van that she was pregnant, the first pregnancy that the group had encountered in their careers. Flummoxed by her revelation, Blob consulted with his teammates for confirmation of the pregnancy and what to do with their pregnant charge. The group reacted with a mix of disbelief and disgust. Eventually the group opted to unfreeze Nezumi upon their return to headquarters and decided what to do with her there.

On a following day, Blob led Department X in a controlled burn of a nearby woodland, in order to give the X-Men a catastrophe to man-age. Later that night while working alone together, Psylocke confront-ed Blob with her knowledge of his feelings toward her, offering to erase them for him and even im-plant mild feelings of disgust to-ward her. Startled by her revelation, Blob dashed out of headquarters and called out of work "with strep" for three days. On day three Psylocke discovered a note from Blob asking for her forgiveness and his desire to keep his memories. That night Psylocke confront-ed Blob at his home over his tardiness and feelings toward her. He confessed his feelings for her, that he would never impose them upon her, and that he clung to said feelings as an anchor to get him through the day. In the end Psylocke let him keep his memories.

The following day at the office Blob and Psylocke continued as if nothing had happened. Detaining an-other criminal mutant, Psylocke wiped the memories concerning his feelings. Moneta soon accused Betsy however of only pretending to wipe the prisoner's memories. Blob quickly came to Psylocke's defense, chastising Moneta for her accusations and pulling rank to quell her disobedience. After sending Moneta home, Jubilee revealed to Blob the inhumane treatment of their prisoner Nezumi at Moneta's hands and the continuing uncertainty of how to deal with Nezumi's pregnancy. That night, following the stress of the day, Psylocke and Blob shared a relaxing evening together reading and commiserating over their feelings for one another.

Days later, Department X investigated a tip of a dissident teenage party at a ramshackle former library. The team soon discovered a group of teenagers, who Moneta insisted were in fact part of a "dangerous retrograde cult". Although the teenagers initially opted to flee, some members of their group rallied their cohorts to fight Department X, inspired by revolutionary Murshid En Sabah Nur. The trained officers quickly and reluctantly defeated the riled teens. Upon inquiry Moneta revealed that she had set up the encounter to prove the existence of resistance. Furious at her deception, Blob fired her from the department.

While cleaning up the mess from the fight, Blob and Psylocke shared an intimate moment. Unbeknownst to the pair, teammate Northstar picked up on the intimacy between the two and was deeply bothered by this revelation.

After a series of events, the Department X team began to regain some of their memories from the mainstream reality. Furious, Jubilee used her powers to burn down Blob's house, after observing him and Psylocke cuddling on a love seat. Standing outside the blaze, Psylocke revealed to Blob that Moneta was right and she hadn't actually taken away the memories from any of their past arrests, merely kept the memories within her mind. With Blob's support, she released the thousands of trapped memories inside her, causing her to faint. When a group of angry victims threatened to at-tack the duo, Blob scoffed at their audacity and reminded them that he was "*expletive* indestructible". Sometime later Blob was seen sitting across from the burned out and graffiti Department X head-quarters. After Nate Grey returned all of the mutants to their main-stream identities, Blob and Psylocke were seen standing in front of one of the portals back to their home universe.

Blob was of the many mutants that joined the mutant nation of Krakoa upon its creation. He was seen alongside many other Krakoans looking on at Charles Xavier's corpse after his death at the hands of anti-mutant superhuman criminals who had infiltrated Krakoa's defenses and killed many of its residents, including Xavier.

I came across this 'legally distinct and totally not the same game for legal purposes' book the other day.
