Tamati "Taheka" Stevens
HP: 2 LP: 1
Condition: Normal

"Maybe .." Tamati offered he was never a big planner himself but with the skills in this team perhaps there was more they could do " thoigh does anyone have any means of spying into the meeting space so we could get a lay of the land before we charge in to cart them off to jail?"

Sky Guard
HP: 5
Cnd: Healthy
Favored Environment: Defense Focus [24 to hit]

Sky Guard listened to Kit's proposal, and the longer it went on the more distant his gaze got until by the end he was staring blankly at the teleporter. Ven blinked a few times in rapid succession, as though as though baffled by something. When Taheka spoke up, trying to introduce some tactics, he offered a singular nod as though to indicate that the fresh voice had the right idea.

"Kit has proven himself to be adept in stealthy matters."

Shifting his sky blue eyes over to the feline Torako he raised a a gloved hand in her direction, as though inviting the woman to speak and share what she knew.

"Cronus mentioned someone named Orleander. You appear to recognize the name. Are you able to tell us anything about them?"

"Oleander," she says, "Like the flower. She was my mentor in the Society, and second only to the Rose Master. She's conniving, ambitious and a manipulator. I did a lot of damage to their Miami operations, she may have used that as cause to unseat the Master as head of the Society."
I'm sorry, it's been a long couple of days. I've deliberately kept myself from reading any more of the module than I had to, so Kenseido, can you fill in what Torako knew about the society and Oleander before she left?

All

Oleander is a French woman and head of the US branch of the Black Rose Syndicate. He is disciplined, ruthless, and a master of martial arts.

As Torako replies, providing the information on Oleander, Sky Guard listens. He remains silent and introspective, considering what is said a short time after the female feline had finished. When he speaks again it seems to be half to himself.

"We should expect Oleander to be present. A martial leader would want to be present when making the demand for the other gangs to bend the knee to them. As they possess no powers, it is likely there will be a second major combatant present as well: the powered individual Cronus mentioned."

Then, looking to each of the Guardians he goes on, posing another question.

"Have any of you heard a news about a new powered person in the area?"

Kit Ferryman
HP: 1
Cnd: Fine and Dandy

"I could go in and scout maybe sure, but one slip up and its going to get messy.", says Kit. "They probably aren't expecting us in some office like the managers office or something. We could all pop into there and try to catch their trap by surprise.", adds Kit. He wasn't that bit into sneaking around when they could do surprise attacks, but that was what got him into trouble before. perhaps sneaking could work.

Whatever the group said, Kit was agreeable to most things. He still riding the high of past victories. It was that familiar feeling where he got cocky and was ready for anything.

It's relatively easy to get a layout of the opera house for Kit to use for teleporting. It's also easy to tell where the gangs will be at. There are also many offices away from that area that you could teleport to, but there is no way of knowing which ones will be used by Black Rose. The farther away you get from the event, the less likelihood of surprising anyone by accident. But it also makes it harder to sneak into the event and see what is going on.

Tamati "Taheka" Stevens
HP: 2 LP: 1
Condition: Normal

Starting to feel excited about the upcoming fight Tamati couldn't see how this Oleander was such a threat, a martial artist just couldn't compete against them as they didn't have any superpowers so this wouldn't be a problem for them was the logical conclusion Tamati came to while looking at the maps of the area round the opera house.

But Sky Guard was right there could be someone else new to the scene, Tamati took a moment or 2 to try and recall if there was anything he had overheard or seen somewhere before.

Tamati is using an intelelct check to try and recall if he can recall anything about any new supers that could be the hired help for the Black Rose, if he does come up with anything useful he will share it with the team
"Yeah while I like the thought of charging in I still think we need some sort of idea of the lay of the land if possible." Tamati added.

Taheka

Tamati isn't aware of any supers new on the scene. There isn't a lot of super activity in New Orleans, but supernatural stuff does tend to run high here.

Sky Guard's lips pursed together into a thin line when Kit continued to push the idea of charging in fists swinging. The winged warrior had done that a lot under the command of another and see lives wasted needlessly. It left him with heavy lump in his stomach. His response was more mild than the negative feelings he felt at the time, however.

"Leaping before you look is a sure way of falling down a hole. Bear in mind Kit, the rest of us are not acclimated to teleporting as you are. Blindly teleporting us into a room will leave us doubly vulnerable to counter attack. Further, we will remain uninformed of the enemies' disposition."

A nod was given in Taheka's direction what he reaffirmed his stance that he wanted to get some information, the lay of the land as it were, before jumping into a fight. When no one spoke up about knowing any new powered people showing up in New Orleans, Sky Guard spoke on.

"There are other tactical concerns than punching criminals to consider. First, these gangs are being coerced into joining a larger more dangerous organization, but they have not yet joined. Forcing a fight immediately may unify them out of necessity. There may be those among them that wish to remain independent, and if given the chance, may simply leave. Meaning we have fewer foes to fight on scene ... and as they leave law enforcement officers waiting in ambush could capture them. If we secure the cooperation of local law enforcement."

"There is also the device that the Black Rose Society is creating. We do not know it's purpose. It is possible that the Society may reveal this during the meeting with the gangs as a means of demonstrating they have a plan for gaining control of the city. It would benefit us to give them the opportunity to divulge their plan and for us to hear them doing so."

"that does sound like something Oleander would do," Torako adds, "but I think we should take the chance anyway, because if she is showing off her new ace, it'll be demonstrated on anyone who's spoken out against the Roses, or just taken too long to commit, and nobody's going to die if I have a say in anything."

Kit Ferryman
HP: 1
Cnd: Fine and Dandy

Kit was not a strategist. He fashioned himself a man of action and when it worked it was spectacular. When it didn't, well stuff happened. "We can get in anywhere in the building we want if we want to scout, but without eyes inside we might pop into a room full off goons. However we approach it, we'll need some way for all of us to get in there and the front door probably isn't the best idea. Might be able to get others in through the roof, but they might be watching that.", remarks Kit.

"Getting the cops involved should be easy enough. Keeping them from alerting the gangs or the Black Rose is another issue. I'd like to think most of the cops are good, you just never know. Al it takes is one. Plus, the gang members aren't doing anything wrong meeting up. So, the ones without warrants can't be touched by the cops.", adds Kit. He may be impulsive and in it for the rush, but he wasn't for apprehending people who weren't doing a crime.

"So sounds like we let the cops know either after the fact or as we go in, although if they don't really trust us then they might not turn up at all" Tamati muses after Kit's comment about possible bad kiwifruit in the police force.

"Pity the opera house is not near any water then I could have snuck in, I'm pretty much invisible in the water."

Given your encounters with the local PD, they have been cooperative enough to be trusted to follow your lead in this situation as a whole. That doesn't mean everyone on the force is on the level; there may be individuals who would betray you.

Your problems have almost entirely been with the press and now AEGIS.

Listening to Kit's concerns about bringing in the police Sky Guard is quiet for a moment. He wanted to give the law enforcement personnel the benefit of the doubt, but the teleporter's concerns were valid. When Taheka mentioned calling police in after the fact there, a brief sour expression crossed Sky Gaurd's face. It sounded akin to treating an ally like janitorial staff, even though he doubted the watery Guardian meant it as such.

"If you are concerned about corruption and the legalities of detaining criminals, contact an officer that you trust. See if they can select a team to support us. You can also discuss legal concerns with them. We have time."

After looking briefly between Kit and Taheka to see if this suggestion addressed their concerns to a satisfactory degree he look at the details they had on the opera house. Playing heed to the plumbing. Taheka's comment about sneaking through water gave him an idea.

"Could you navigate your way through plumbing to a sprinkler system? That may offer you some height advantage to peer down from without entirely exposing yourself. It'd also serve as an advantageous launching platform for an attack."

If the information they have on the building includes plumbing, he presents it to Taheka to look at, as though it were a map. After this proposal he looks back to Kit as he circles round to the topic of scouting once more.

"A bathroom is a possible entry point for you. I can join you, if you like, though your skill exceeds my own. Regardless, the bathroom should be less trafficked. From there you could look around. Get positions and numbers of enemies. See if there is anything on site we need to worry about like a destructive device."

At that statement he looks to Torako, as though addressing her comment about taking a chance and not waiting. Then his eyes shift back over to Kit as he continues.

"Something that could be dealt with before a fight and would be bad to learn about in the middle of one. That is my prime concern. You can also look for a suitable location to teleport the team to as a group before we launch our attack."
