The girl brightened at seeing the real Manhunter. She flew up and hugged him. "I never really got the chance to say thank you and Superman for saving me and taking me back from Ceres." she said. "I'm in a good place now." she added.

He and Superman were in the same group investigating the Death Star. They found Helena on the way back. Even though she doesn't remember it, she would have been told the basics.

J'onn smiles somewhat reservedly, though he does reciprocate the hug.
Stark, on the other hand, clearly does not seem to be all that comfortable around teenagers while the Starfleet officer stands at the ready but overall seems pretty relaxed.
" I suppose you know Mr. Stark and Mr. J'onzz", Winters says, nodding to the two guests.
The officer then says, "I am Cmdr. Robert Douglas. Pleased to meet you."
" Now that the pleasantries are over...", Stark immediately chimes in, " it seems we've poked a hornet's nest here."

The officer then says, "I am Cmdr. Robert Douglas. Pleased to meet you."

Anna knew Stark (or at least one version of him- who could tell if it was this one) but the other two were strangers...

There was the soft 'pop' of bubble gum from the corner where Anna had leaned up against the wall. "Maybe 'you' have poked a hornet's nest..." She waved a hand lazily around, indicating her fellow students. "WE haven't done much besides wander around with, like, a giant target painted on US. Not exactly the best way to spend a day in the city, huh?"

ooc: Manhunter might know CJ personally as her parents (Beatrix and Tori) were merged into Fire and Ice of the JLI. My question is does CJ know the Manhunter personally? Or is this a different J'onn J'onzz?

"When you say 'we', Mr. Stark, you don't mean us students," CJ says. "Right? As I think we've only been on the receiving end of angry hornet stings that we had nothing to do with poking."

M'Att remains silent - his self assurance that assuming the Manhunter's form and persona was a good idea at the time rapidly dissolves. He tries to inconspicuously not look at J'Onn, but as a result keeps glancing back.

Commander Douglas piques his curiosity though, and provides a welcome distraction.

"I guess you're here to escort some of our guests home? But, I'd love to know what ship you're from." Yes. He was trying to stall his inevitable conversation with J'Onn J'Onzz.

"We've found at least two infiltrators. It seems your security is no such thing. Especially since it seems they can get to relatively high ranking people." she nodded to Mergebane. "If not for friend Ryou, we would not be able to trust you." she looked at Ryou for confirmation or not. "Can we?" she asked him.

"You erred badly in this." she said. "You did not tell us what we were up against, nor how to protect ourselves from it. You did not even give us a picture of the situation, much less the full picture. Had we known, we might have been able to discover the mole earlier. Instead, the lack of knowledge led to infighting and nearly destroyed the trust between us. Now two people are dead or as good as dead because of it, for from what we know, these beings tend to kill the people they masquerade as." she shook her head.

"I am disappointed to put it mildly." she said, keeping her voice level and soft. It was the best way to keep control of a situation, her father told her. In highly charged meetings, never raise your voice. If you do, then the other side will and soon, it'd devolve into a shouting match and nothing will get accomplished.

"I am against sending them with you or anyone except maybe to New Mechanisburg and or Latveria. At least The Lady Heterdyne and Lord Doom take security much more seriously than you seem to." she said pointedly.

"I picked this up from the debris after the explosion." He produces a small chip.



"I have a pretty good idea what this is, but not how to get to any information it might contain..."

Here's hoping the results outweight the Manhunter's ire at the usurping of his identity...

Per her suggestion, Ryou took a closer examination of the feelings he was experiencing in their presence. He knew how each of them were meant to feel, even if he struggled to put it into words the way a universe's lingering presence felt on an Ex-Dee. The Martian Manhunter was of DC, Tony Stark was from Marvel, and the commander should be of Star Trek. Then there was their headmaster, who he wasn't sure where she was actually meant to be from.

OOC: Basically just using Analytical portion of his Mergesense to confirm they're actually from their respective merges.

" May I?" Stark asks, motioning to the chip. " Shouldn't be too hard to decrypt what's on it."

The Starfleet officer raises a brow. " I am from the CJS Sito Jaxa. But no, we are not here to escort our guests back to their homeworld. The exchange program should continue. I'd also like you to know that there was no falsehood involved in sending the four here. However, things will have to change from here on out, that much is certain."

M'Att meanwhile, feels Manhunter's gaze on him and hears a voice inside his head.

Possessing the power to change shape comes with a lot of responsibilities. I do not believe I have to remind you that impersonating another being against their will just to avoid an inconvenience is not in line with those responsibilities.

ooc: CJ's mental awareness is acute and analytical. Did she catch any of that? Or is she merely aware that Manhunter said something to M'Att.
