"Indeed..." The man muttered, adjusting his scarf a little as a spiritual chill swept through the air. Not all who died left behind ghosts, and even those that do don't always linger near their bodies. This was their biggest shot at taking this particular route though, and he was even banking on there being complications with the spirit itself.

In order to make sure their target was even there and they weren't about to waste their time first, he pulled on one of his spiritual chains. His first, and oldest friend, would be the perfect fit. They were the most modern of his congregation and wouldn't stick out so prominently to the dead already lingering.

ooc: Using spectral survilence to check out the morgue, and see if anyone lingering even matches the description we had.

The Ace County morgue is one of three such morgues in the city (as evident from signs throughout the building referring to them). This one is an offshoot of a nearby hospital. However this building is maintained, in part, by the Los Calido Metropolitan Police Department. This is largely because this is where bodies are kept when they died under suspicious circumstances.

Your spirits spread throughout the building. Spirits you find in abundance. Their voices in your head, a cacophony of voices long dead, and sometimes forgotten. It is clear that this building has housed many spirits. It takes ten minutes -- and a not insubstantial headache -- to find the final resting place of your quarry, Opal Sanchez. Her spirit is still present, but it does not roam free. You could speak to it, if you had direct access to the body.

[OOC: Your character has the ability to talk to spirits. I am assuming you already have the research portion of the ritualist action well at hand.]

[Edit: Actually, you can comprehend spirits. For the narrative, I will still require 5 minutes to talk to the spirit of Opal. So, plan on that.]

Vincent massages his temples as he hears the discordant impressions of the recent dead seep into his very being through his chained spirits. "I should've anticipated that... No mind now. I've located her body, and her spirit is still lingering with it. I'll leave it to you you girls to figure how we're getting in."

It was getting late in the day. The building was still having visitor hours, but this option might only exist for an hour longer. The building was about 100 yards from the hospital it served (separated by parking lot and road ways). There were several entrances littered around the building. Most doors having only keyed or electronic entry, or being exit only (and therefore having neither). There is also a docking bay, likely for vehicular entry. Many of these doors have security cameras.

"If you want, I can scout a way in. It's too bad I can't really take you with me. Do your spirits know where the body is?" Breach says.

The mythical woman rolled her eyes. "I shall perform this task." she declared with an air of exasperation.
Moving her wavy figure towards the entrance desk she catches the eye of the clerk at work there. "My dear boy, I shall request from you to please take me to my dearest Opal, I need to see her one last time."

"Were we supposed to follow or is she going to just drag the body out here?" Breach asks.

"I'd rather do this 'by the books' and not draw any undue attention first and foremost. If this fails, then we can see about just taking te body for ourselves." Vincent declared resolutely.

Adjusting his scarf, he walked up with the fay woman and put on his least unfriendly expression. "Yes, as my sister said. We'd like to see our cousin, before we can help her family with the funeral arrangements. It's very important for us."

The man at the counter is currently filling out a large stack of paperwork. He looks up briefly, and then not so briefly, as you approach.

"Oh!" The officer stammers as he buries his right hand in his paperwork pile. [OOC: Passive Perception: He has a ring on his right hand.] "Of course. I am sorry for your condolences. Give me a second." He sits down in front of his computer and begins typing. "We have an Opal Sanchez here. Her body seems to be on hold awaiting a new autopsy. Apparently it is being bounced between departments right now and the new group wants another autopsy done. I probably shouldn't do this..." The officer looks at Scylla in the eyes, fake guilt welling up. "... but what kind of man would I be if I didn't try to help a grieving... daughter?"

"She's a cousin of ours, but we were always close in the past." Vincent continued, wishing to keep their relationships vague enough to be familiar, but not close enough to warrant a thorough inspection. "When we heard what happened..." He trailed off, sighing and looking away.

"My poor brother cannot speak of it without breaking into tears." Scylla continued "Is there anything I could do to get you to show her to us?" she said, leaning on the counter suggestively.

Her inner self, however, was bored. "Once again showing the males the right angle gets the job done. Tsk, they could at least make it interesting..."

'Yeah, there are tears alright.' The man inwardly grimaced at Scylla's methods. As long as they got the job done without causing a scene, whatever then.

The officer briefly looked at the two of you, trying to judge the familial relation. However, he quickly dropped it from his mind. "This way, I can..." He paused, remembering that he cannot leave the desk. "I will call for someone to escort you. Give me a moment." Reaching for a radio, he called for assistance with a grieving family. It takes a few minutes, but a busy female medical assistant arrives.

"I am Dharma Bhargava. Who am I escorting?" She looks like she hasn't slept in the last 24 hours.

"These grieving family members need to see their cousin Opal Sanchez"

"What number?" The officer looks confused momentarily. "The case number, or body number. Doesn't matter which."

Looking quickly at his computer, "Case number 071900134".

Dharma fumbles through her folders in hand. "I wasn't aware she had any other family. Everyone else moved out of state." She looks at both of you, and clearly decided that this is someone else's problem. "Follow me", and she beckons you to follow her down the hall.

[OOC: As you walk down the hall, you may make a perception check.]

Vincent avoids trying to let his eyes linger on any of the wandering spirits still haunting the morgue, though at the expense of some of his personal awareness to his surroundings.
