As the team gathers and makes their initial introductions, the rest of the students file into the school. There's a lot of familiar faces by now, even if there's no names to go with them. By now the usual school tropes could be easily identified around the first years. The football team in their letter-man jackets, the skaters, the nerds, all were easy to spot now with their little time in school now.

There is a flash of blue-white energy as Mat appears from no where. He appears with one arm draped nonchalantly over J.D.'s shoulder, the usual smirk on his face. "Sup losers, ready for some real business today?" The boy in the leather jacket turns to examine the newcomers. "Who're the new chicks?"

The heavy stomp of Joseph can be heard close behind as he wades head and shoulders above the crowd. He and Mat had been placed on the same team, and the pair were often seen together. Dressed in one of his many fleeces (today's being a mossy green), the boy offers the group a beaming smile and wave. "Hey guys' he says nonchalantly.

As Sarah feels a little left out, she spots Lucy and her pair of friends skirting around the crowd. As impeccably dressed as ever. Sarah catches Lucy's eye, and sees the girl offer her a small smile as she passes by. The pair following her don't extend the same courtesy, but don't seem to be ignoring her. They just seem preoccupied.

Before lessons, the students had form time. Form for this team and a number of others was run by Mrs Hofland. A stern but fair dwarven woman. She taught one of the hero classes, though which it was, she had not said. Something on the theoretical side of the subject apparently.

JD Daniels

JD raises an eyebrow at the casual familiarity of Mat's arm across his broad shoulders. Trouble was, he didn't know if this was normal or not. It certainly was nothing he'd experienced being either home schooled or church schooled. He let it be and answered with an awkward but light-hearted "Hey there, Mat." JD gestures as he speaks. "If you refer to the Young Ladies," he emphasizes, "Sarah you know, but you may not have seen her new look. Meghan you've probably seen flying around, Audrey has usually just been quiet and in the back of some of our classes. And Tessa is a recent addition. She seems to be a teleporter like you. And you didn't ask about them, but John you know, and Joseph... is your squadmate, I believe." he finishes gesturing at the two named male students.

"And we don't want to be late for Mrs. Hofland. She's only waist high but I think she can benchpress a truck."

Audrey Yates

Audrey eyed the flashy newcomer warily. Cocky attitude and flashy powers were a recipe for disaster. When the boy refered to them as 'chicks', Audrey was tempted to make him go deaf. Only the nagging voices of her parents and counselor in her head telling her never to use her powers in anger made her hold back. Instead she nodded a greeting and pasted a half smile on her face.

Meghan Monroe

Meghan tilted her head to the side as she cooly regarded Mat. He was kinda cute in a jock sort of way.

Joseph on the other hand got a larger, real-er smile, actually daring to meet his eyes before she flirtily glanced back away, not looking at him, definitely not. Nope. No way. Unless he was looking at her. Was he looking at her? She better check.

"So Sarah? Audrey? What do you think? Chicks? *eww* Young ladies? *double eww* Babes? *shrugs* I kinda hot hotties. *turns on her scintillating aura for a brief flicker*."

Tessa Davis
HP: 1; LP: 1; Condition: Normal

Tessa had sighed ever so slightly at Mat's opening quip- though she did flick a glance at the board when JD made his introduction. After Meghan's response, though, maybe she didn't need to play nice, to get along. Maybe it was time to stake our her space in this social experiment...

She turned from the board back to face the group, smiling brightly- the kind of smile that, if she were a cat, would show fangs... "I WAS gonna let that slide, i deference to your obviously challenged condition but like, NO." She waved one hand lazily around the group, encompassing Audrey, Meghan, and even Sarah. "WE are not chicks. We are f-ing refined and cultured young ladies..." She stated, casually dropping an F-bomb into the conversational battlefield.

Casually she waved towards JD. "Shall we go?" (Since, for now, she didn't know where they were headed, and he did).

>OOC: See, she was all nice and restrained an everything- didn't even turn that into a Taunt to crush his spirit...

>OOC 2: I'm a bit amused by the occasional translation/culture tic. Is our GM British?

"What she said," Sarah says referring to Tessa's f-bomb. "I'm neither chicken or infantile."

Meghan Monroe

Meghan blinks as she turns back towards Tessa, a little wince. She makes a gesture, gesturing downwards, 'turn it down?'

"Uhh, yeah, what she said!"

JD Daniels

It was his own sense of respect for those of the female persuasion drilled into any good Southern gentleman that prompted his response to Mat but his teammates seemed to dial it up to 9 and a half. JD gives a 'there ya go' look at the cocky male teleporter.

"Keep that up and we'll definitely know what the 'A' in your Team-A, stands for." JD smirks. "Abstinence, if nothing else."

"C'mon C-Team." he says, shooting Joseph a thumbs up to show no hard feelings were meant by the trash talk.

Meghan pauses, lifting her pointer finger in the air, a pause, a wince, taps it against her forehead.

Probably a good thing that JD didn't instantly think of what the C in C team might stand for.

Matt glances between the others as they rally to defend each other, his smirk seemingly frozen on his face. After a moment he manages to formulate a response, that amounted to "pfft, whatever. It was just a compliment Have fun with Mrs Hofland. I heard that dwarves eat metal. Still better than Mr Mills though, I think he's a literal zombie, there's something wrong with him". He slaps JD on the shoulder as he glances back at Joseph and nods before turning to the group. "Alright, I'm off, see you losers at the freshers fair!" He flashes Tessa a wink before disappearing in that flash of electrical energy once more.

This leaves Joseph stood there a little awkwardly, still smiling absentmindedly. He smiles at Meghan in response to her reaction, but as he doesn't seemed to have stopped since he arrived, it's very difficult to tell exactly what kind of reaction he is giving off. "Good to see you to Joseph! I better go find the others." He turns to leave, almost knocking a poor first year into their back as he wheels his sizeable frame around. Seemingly not noticing, he meanders through the crowd and disappears (as best as he can).

As C-team make their way to the form room, the corridors slowly empty as the various teams disperses into their respective rooms. Their form room had around fifteen students alongside them. The door was locked, but shortly after they arrive there is a clack from the lock before the door is swung open by a short and heavily bearded woman.

"Alright, everyone in, we have some announcements to get through this morning". Mrs Hofman stands to one side to allow the students to walk past. Despite her height, there was a definite presence and feel of strength coming from her. He golden blonde hair was immaculately kept and braided (both on her head and chin). Her beard actually reached down to her knees, but had been tucked into the belt of her light grey pants suit.

Moving in behind them, Mrs Hofman hoists herself into the seat behind her desk, feet handing off the ground a little. The room was well kept and organised, it was one of the few room where the walls weren't coated with old art project or posters that were years out of date. Here the walls had carefully selected pictures from historical events.

"Alright, as you know, or should know, we have the freshers fair today at lunch time, so be sure to make time for that. I've also been told to say that the 'fire society' has been discontinued, due to the arson case last year. So if you've been hearing about that from the older students, I'm afraid it won't be an option this year. Next, you will have your first super P.E. lesson today. The school can provide protective gear as needed to start with, but there will be some letters to go to your parents about purchasing your own for custom fitting and requirements. Do not forget to get those off my desk before you go! Let's see, is there anything else, ah yes. Final period today there will be an assembly for all first year students, so you'll all need to be there for that". When she speaks, Mrs Hofman has a very faint accent, something that wasn't american. It's difficult to make out though.

JD wonders if he needs protective equipment since he had his stone armor. He'd be sure to get one of those forms and read over the requirements.

Audrey Yates

Audrey half listened to her new teacher. Whatever she was, she wasn't human. Tempted as Audrey was to make a wisecrack or mock the teacher, something in her subconscious told her it would be a very bad idea here. Of course her subconscious also reminded her that there would be other, better opportunities. Perhaps the lame assembly later?

Audrey considered the forms her teacher mentioned. Did she need protective gear? She had the force field generator her parents had bought her. Maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to look into the option of protective gear as the generator could be broken or stolen.

She dreaded the freshers fair. She supposed it might be okay for most students. For her, it was yet another time she would have to see and probably interact with, her goody goody sister.

"Another super PE class? I wasn'tsure I was going to survive the first one." she commented quietly.

John gives, himself an internal reminder to grab one of those sheets before he leaves. He focuses on his teacher and writes down her instructions. Trying to ensure that he doesn't miss anything that could be important.

Meghan Monroe

Meghan more danced into her spot, swinging around to take her assigned seat. She tried to stay 'in the moment', to stay involved, to stay.. present. Her attention soon started to falter though. There were other students to be aware of. There were the historical pictures, she might even recognize some of them, maybe. But oooh shiny, her eyes flickered away to pay attention to something else.

It wasn't so much that she was noticing things, she was. The problem was that she was noticing too many things, that her attention was too scattered, too undirected, and that she couldn't focus on any one thing instead.

If her head on a swivel wasn't enough, she started to tap her feet, her fingers against the desk before her, her pencils, oh yeah, paper. What about..

What about..
What about?

With a wince, she closed her eyes again, trying to stare right at Mrs Hofman. She knew that what the teacher was saying was important, probably. But then again, so many other things were too. She was missing a lot, she knew it.. but squirrel!
