Indius nods to Ericka's concern. "We're not so far off from Elvnir, but the phisicker doesn't think the afflicted have that much time, so Sepulcur is closer. I can't turn the entire caravan around and risk it on the landbridge again, so my options are limited, but these people are my responsibility, so it's a risk I'll have to take."

"In any case, I'll see to the preparations of the wagon that will be returning. You'll be leaving early to catch the landbridge during low tide, so get some rest." and with that, he heads off to get to work arranging the wagon, rearranging goods that still need to stay with the caravan, making sure some medical supplies stay with the returning wagon in case they are needed on the short trip back, remembering it's only a few hours back once the landbridge is uncovered by the ocean.

Lady Moira Sterling

Moira was silent all through the conversation trying to figure out a solution to their problem. They were Wielders, darnit! Capable of amazing things! There *should* be a solution! But try as she might, she could not think of a way that both the cart and the caravan were as protected as they needed to be. Maybe after the cart was safely at Sepulcur she could fly Bearrage after the caravan. The much swifter bird form of her Bond could catch up to them in maybe a weeks time, then they'd at least have one Wielder at their disposal. But who knows what they would encounter at Sepulcur that may waylay that idea.

Sashura Vlasova

Sashura had to think about this situation for a bit.

"On the one hand, if me and the other Wielders escorted the wagon back to Sepulcur, it would leave the main caravan without major defenders for a few days.

But it would be for a few days. And caravans have been doing this for quite some time, and know the risks involved.

Whereas the sick merchant's best chance of living is to get to Sepulcur as quickly as possible. It's just a few hours away once the tide goes down, but much can happen in just a few hours.

Or a few days.

Splitting us up would give both the caravan and the wagon some protection; but if something attacked, two or three Wielders may not be enough. What was that old quote : 'if you defend the left flank, the right becomes weak. If you defend the right flank, the left becomes weak. If you defend everywhere, you become weak everywhere.'

It looks like the best chance to save the most lives would be to escort the wagon back, and hope Indius can move the caravan along fast enough to avoid any major threats."

"I wouldn't worry too much. You don't get to have this much money, or people, without being competent. At least not out here," Dog takes another bite of his meal then grins, "I bet you Indius has a plan to link up with another caravan in the area. Pay them a little, get the benefit of their wielders, and they get the benefit of numbers."

Moira nods. "If there are others in this area that'd be a great option. Either way it's his call and I respect him for prioritizing the infirmed. His people will too and he'll get more repeat travelers." she ventures.

"I look forward to seeing what new journeys await us." she says cheerily

The night goes by without incident and shortly before first light, you are woken to start heading back to Sepulcur with the wagon that been prepared for the trip back with the ill merchants settled inside, some medical supplies, even though the trip should only be a few hours, one could never been too careful, and a driver of course.

Dog awakes to a surprise, as he finds his bond weapons among his equipment, if a little haphazardly place among them, as if someone has hasteily come by and dropped them there before spiriting away lest they be noticed. The weapons seem no worse for wear, though his firearm is empty of shot and powder, but otherwise in a condition Dog himself would find acceptable to employ.

Your group arrives at the edge of the landbridge a little early and will have to either risk taking the landbridge before the tide has lowered to a safe level, or risk it, knowing you'll be swept by waves for at least a short time, but save the better part of an hour. For the moment, aside from the tide, there are no other obvious threats present.

Moira would send Bearrage in raptor form to scout from a decent height. What can she see through Raptor eyes? Any sign of the Silver figure? Any sign of 'pets'?

(No roll necessary)

Nothing stands out to Moira as she borrows her bond totems senses though rising sun does cast a golden glare from the water. But she can make out no movement besides the waves, nothing standing sentinel along where the land bridge will soon be uncovered by the surf. If there is anything, it's either invisible or too far under the water to spot.

Moira reports the lack of obvious threats. "Still, the waves concern me. Can we think of ways to navigate more safely?"

Not a river. You're at the ocean where a land bridge connects two continents. It took you a few hours to cross initially, with the akuma encounter being somewhere past the midway point, and that was moving at a reasonable pace. For a caravan.

As a single wagon, you can move a bit faster, but the tide isn't quite down. It will slow you and possibly cause troubles. You can wait, but each hour might make a difference in how many of the merchant's survive! So waiting that hour could make a difference.

So it's a question of whether you risk the hazardous path, or take your chances waiting.

Dog grunts.

"Well, I guess the best bet is to tie some ropes to the wagon, hitch it to our belts and go for a nice cold walk," He says giving the water bridge a nasty look.

Moira looks doubtfully at the water flowing over the pathway. "An hour in that? Ericka, what's the risk to them if we wait?" She asks, indicating the sick cart and those within.

"Erm, whell... Last I checked on their conditions, it looked like..." She spoke, going into some detail about her thoughts on the matter at hand.

Well, Ericka can tell Indius' physicker wasn't exaggerating. They wouldn't have made it the next few days. Just the next few hours seem shakey. One single hour could make a difference here.

Lloyd Milhaus

"Let us try water before they get sicker." The Uhyrian woodsman says in his accented speech, his tone indicating that is his vote rather than a command for immediate action. "We can tie rope to one another. In event of the loosing of feet I will make an unmoving tree." He hefts Heartwood.

"Good?"
"Something pithy this way comes."
