Zyzzak
HP:2 LP:0 CND: Presumably Rested and Healed
Scanners: Senses; Vision gains penetration, extended
Pattern Array: Computer integration
Defensive: Repulsion field
Wrist Emitters: Concealment, except radio

Zyzzak reports that the remaining staff are running from the Agents' point of entry and all electronics are currently powered off and it may take some time to boot them up. He can stop and try to do that or go further in to try to find a more central and likely important computer.

Evelyn "Bulwark" Gracen
HP: 2
Cnd: Healthy

Zyzzak's duo of questions received a combined response from Evelyn. Her tone even. The pacing of her words steady. Though she spoke in answer to the Xeno's questions, Canadian Shield was kept in on the dialog.

"They are actively retreating. Don't get bogged down trying to turn a random terminal or intercom system on. Priorities are the teleportation system, their leadership, and critical data stores. In that order."

Hearing Luke's comment she turned her head and brought metal coated eyes to bear on the roguish man. A subtle nod was offered.

"That is the idea. In the meantime, get the police up to speed. If Phoenix still hasn't gotten them awake by the time you finish with that, see if you can get any information on this tunnel system. It looks old."

OOC wrote:May we assume that Silver Phoenix heals one or both of the welders so that they can be interrogated?

Evelyn is also effectively asking Luke to make use of his Contacts to see if there are any maps or information he can dig up about the tunnels.

All

Zyzzak couldn't make out where any of the three priorities mentioned are. He can make out which corridors to go down to go in the general direction they are retreating toward.

Silver Phoenix heals one of the men and he comes to. His eyes go wide as he sees himself surrounded by heroes. He gulps and visibly forces his lips together, shaking his head no.

There are about 3 levels, but your Perception check and Mental Quickness covered them all.

"Cool" Luke
HP: 2
CND: Ice Cold

Seeing the man come to, Luke gives it straight. "So sealing us out didn't work. Yo seem like one of those guys who comes on, does his job, and wants to go out with his mates for a few pints after a day of villainy. Not one of those let's destroy a hospital with exploding robot types. Heck, a court might even give you some leniency if you help us. I can be pretty convincing when I want to be and some of the others can work literal magic. Having us saying give you a break would go a long way to not spending the rest of your life in a cell.", begins Luke. Try and make friends and offer carrots first. Usually worked in his previous negotiations.

"Heres the deal though. You gotta tell us what this place is and which computers turn off the teleport. Also, be good to know where everyone is running plus where your fearless lets kill wounded people in a hospital are. Just as a start.", inquires Luke.

Cool Luke

The man just shakes his head and keeps his lips pressed closed. Luke has seen that look on someone's face before. Somebody got to him first, and they scared him pretty severely. Maybe you could get through with time, but it's not going something that just happens now.
Take an HP. You can't persuade or intimidate any of them into helping you.

Silver Phoenix:
[Harper Zhao]
Condition: Fine
HP: 2

Madame Macabre wrote:Looking over to her martial-artist teammate, she cracks a slight smile.  "I'll leave the robots to you.  It takes me a bit more effort and creativity to take them down.  Anyone else though...I got 'em."
Silver Phoenix nods her head. I will do what I can should there be anymore of those metal menaces."

The martial artist watches as the group's "raid" commences, noting that Zyzzak didn't follow his instructions and the irritation it caused their leader. She says nothing as doing so would only make the issue worse, but she wondered if her alien peer still was having difficulty understanding things.

After the lid was removed and Bulwark led the way down, Silver Phoenix followed quietly.
Evelyn "Bulwark" Gracen[/quote wrote:Once the others came down into the tunnel she looked to the team's martial arts specialist: Silver Phoenix.

"Take a look at them. If they aren't dead, see if you can help them regain consciousness."
"The Invigorating Flames of the Phoenix should easily handle that." Silver Phoenix answers as her hands glow with her namesake's flames and she lays them upon one of the men. The result is nearly instant as his eyes open fully to take in his new situation.

His reaction added further questions in Silver Phoenix's mind as to why the Horde had terrified their agents so much. Would it not be easier to ensure their loyalty another way? What forms of punishment  did they threaten their people with to cause such reactions? Threats to family members and loved ones? That was the most likely choice in the martial artist's mind, or perhaps a threat of death to those without such emotional bonds?

"Cool" Luke
HP: 3
CND: Ice Cold

He could maybe press harder, but something told him that pressing more wouldn't work for now. Not with the base being evacuated or whatever was going on. "Not one for talking huh?", remarks Luke to the captive. He looks around again, not quite sure of the next steps.

Finally, he breaks his silence. "So yeah, talking failed. Guess its charge towards the room that looks the most important and see what we can find. Maybe some masterplan document or something to tip us off to wha they want with our base. I hope they aren't going to blow the base. I mean if this guy dies because of some nuke at the heart of the bas going to go off or some explosives, I'd feel bad.", thinks Luke out loud.

Looking at the others Luke shrugs. "Unless someone has an idea, I'd say we go my left.", suggests Luke.

Evelyn "Bulwark" Gracen
HP: 2

Evelyn watched as Silver Phoenix applied her healing energies to the two men. A thoughtful expression creased her features and his gaze lingers on the martial artist until Luke comments on the unresponsiveness of the two men.

"We can't get bogged down hauling out every prisoner we take when time is an issue. Right now the exit is close. Go ahead and get these two clear if you want."

A slow shake of the head followed when Luke advised aimlessly heading out into the maze of tunnels as a group.

"Wondering around blindly isn't going to do any good. Any documents of import are going to be burnt. Computers they've already cleared are going to be wiped, or in the process of being wiped. We need to get ahead of them. Zyzzak, can you tell where these people are fleeing to? Is there a route we can take to cut them off?"

All

Moving in the direction they are going to it's final destination in the base is easy enough. But to get ahead of them is extremely problematic without an full layout of the base.

Luke know that if any of his contacts could find such a layout, it would take hours, if not days for them to do so.

Bulwark could check with AEGIS, but in all likelihood, it would take an hour to find them and get them to you if they even exist in AEGIS records.

"I can tell the general direction they are fleeing to but I have not come across a layout of the facility in order to direct our movements to intercept. While I can phase through walls to get in front of them, the process of molecular transmigration is slower and runs the risk of me hitting an electrical conduit and... that would be bad." he says over comms.

Madame Macabre

HP: 1
Cnd: Normal

After teleporting to the bottom of the shaft, Elizabeth sees all of the fleeing personnel. Pausing only for a brief moment to take in information from her teammates and orders from Bulwark, Elizabeth brings her right hand up to her temple, mumbling a few words in some strange tongue. She repeats them as she looks ahead to the area where the workers are fleeing.
OOC: Since the Horde use the bodies of dead people in some of their cyborg-like creations, could Elizabeth use her "Sense the Departed" spell/power to try and "see" any beings ahead who are dead/partially dead? The power penetrates concealment so it could help prevent an ambush if any of those zombie-machine hybrids are anywhere up ahead of the team.
Edit: Here's the requested Perception Roll for "Sense the Departed": Perception Roll in the Horde Base: 1d20+10 13. So, a 13. I'll spend a HP and try again. Reroll for Perception Roll: Reroll for Perception in Horde Base: 1d20+10 30. A natural 20 +10 for a total of 30.

"Cool" Luke
HP: 3
CND: Ice Cold

"So it's a chase than somehow unless anyone knows a way to get the plans of this place?", inquires Luke. "I don't know why the leaders of this group wouldn't just pop off with their teleport devices, but hey a chase might work. Could someone track some others going through the tunnels maybe just in case there is some secret exits they'd pop out of?", adds Luke.
