Yeah, pretty much any polygonal graphics before 2000 or so now look so god-awful compared to even 16-bit SNES graphics. It's very weird, given how much "better" they clearly looked in 1995. Nowadays playing something like Toshinden or or Jumping Flash! would be like pulling teeth.

Oh yeah, and this set will be semi-"spammed" through- I just want some of the much older stuff posted onto here. My Toshinden builds were entirely on the old ATT.

-Tracy's a cop character with a pretty good, anime-style design. She's similar to Leona Heidern from King of Fighters with the whole Military Fatigues/Blue Hair thing, but the quirky design additions (the giant badge, tonfa rods and hat) make for a much stronger overall look. She fights using Flash Kicks, a Spinnig Uppercut and a weird little ground-travelling Blast.

-Ellis is the by-now-common Fighting Game Stand-By of the Adorable Pedo-Bait Speedster, revealing Japan's creepy obsession with skirt-wearing underaged girls in a see-through-dress-wearing green-haired girl using a pair of daggers. Her special moves are HIGHLY-athletic, and feature tons of rapid-fire shots combined with Blanka-like Spinning Roll attacks that can change direction in mid-flight, resulting in a high Acrobatics Score. As the weakest Toshinden fighter, she doesn't do a heck of a lot of damage (nor can she take a lot- Toughness 2 is REALLY, REALLY BAD for someone who does a lot of one-on-one fighting against Weaponmasters), but she's accurate and hard to hit.

Enemy (Adam)- The robot Adam was set against Rungo in the third tournament.

-Rungo was a bit like Zangief combined with Guile's personality, being the heavy-hitting powerhouse of Toshinden, but also a Family Man. He was a burly MFer with a huge Club as a weapon instead of an elegant blade, marking him as the token "Big Slow Guy" of the series. Apparently he's also buddies with Gaia, but takes up a pretty tangential role to the story, merely being "there" doing his own thing as an ally. As the Powerhouse of the series and still PL 8 like the others, Rungo comes across as a bit inaccurate and easy to hit, but keep in mind that in a world where the best Toughness is usually +3 or +4, hitting with a DC 21-23 damage attack is a big friggin' deal, and the math can REALLY come out on your end in a big hurry.

Relationship (Naru)- Kayin's adopted daughter is the most important person in his life. He killed her father the same way his own father was killed.

-Kayin is a rather uninventive Ken knock-off who is the Rival/Pal to Eiji, but is also hunting Sho for killing his father. He had one of the better designs of the video game worlds' Kens, though. Despite wielding EXCALIBUR, he's still leaning towards the accuracy side of things, like most Toshinden fighters.

-Mondo was a pretty forgettable background character, just being an Assassin/Spy for a rival Organization, investigating the Himitsu Kessha. His design was a dud (just a generic purple outfit and a spear), and his motivation was weak. I guess they just wanted a Ranged Fighter to sorta be like Dhalsim, with a giant Extending Spear. At least he has some semi-unique moves, like a Spinning Spear (he moves slowly forward while spinning it like an electric fan), extending Spear attacks, and a giant Area Effect that spreads a plume of fire over the battlefield below him.

-Fo, like Ellis, is a weaker fighter, but his dangerous Reach (those claws are like three feet long!) and giant Energy Spheres (which are very hard to dodge, as they're wider than your character is tall- you'd better Sidestep in a HURRY) can really mess you up. And his Flying Kick can really come out of nowhere- he justifies that Improved Initiative. He's REALLY annoying to fight in other ways- namely his horrible voice acting, with the same "EE-KUDOH!" every time he takes a hit, or his goofy laughing. He was at least delightfully creepy, like his stated motivation of killing young people (Kayin defeated him in the first tournament, preventing this from happening), or the fact that he trained Bayhou to be a killer, then willingly turned his back so his student would kill him.

-Chaos is the "Crazy Guy" of the group (speaking of a character type that's in EVERY Fighting Game), an operative of the Himitsu Kessha driven insane and brainwashed, and pushed to murder their enemies. Wielding a giant scythe and laughing like a loon, Chaos was pretty entertaining and a good design. It's likely he was killed during the 3rd Toshinden game, as his Shield thingie was used by Genma in the fourth. His moves include weird stuff like a spinning attack, falling forward (which actually hurts the other guy and is weirdly timed, making it oddly effective), a Fireball, an Energy Ball he holds out in front of him, and more.

-Fighting games are weird. No less than THREE blonde women in fighting games are amnesiac Spy Chicks who are also ultra-fanservicey- Nina Williams of Tekken and Street Fighter's Cammy are cut from the same cloth. Add in that another pair of sexy blondes are also in the Spy/Detective business (Sarah Bryant and Sonya Blade), and you've gone into straight-up knock-off territory, with everyone ripping off the same source. Sofia is the Fanservicey prostitute-dressing Whip Chick with a hyper-annoying Russian accent ("AURORA REVOLUTIOOOOOOONNNN!"), REALLY annoying laugh, and a range & slap-happy fighting style (a repeated Bitch Slap is her preferred grappling attack).

-But her stage's theme song in the second game is AMAZING, basically an epic disco version of Rocky IV's theme song.

Motivation (Getting Stronger)- A true Shonen hero, Sho only wants to get stronger, and is willing to abandon his brother and son to do it.

-Sho is quite standard for Fighting Games- the Secret Boss who's an elite version of regular characters (much like Reptile, Smoke, Noob Saibot & Akuma all were by point). Sho is Eiji's big brother, and operates like a super-fast version of Eiji & Kayin. He was LIGHTNING QUICK in the game, and if you played as him, you could pretty much immediately circle around any enemy and back-shot him before he could get you. Sho is elite enough to make PL 10, and could easily join the ranks of the World Warriors with that level of skill.

-Gaia (for some reason they gave that name to a manly dude) was a high-level Himitsu Kessha member, but betrayed the group after the new Uranus killed his wife (the last Uranus), and set up his own Toshinden tournament, which is the point of the first game. WHY he did this is beyond me, as it made him an outcast from his own group. In the first game, Gaia was HUGE, wielding a giant sword and wearing a suit that had an extra pair of arms on top, but by the second, he was merely some muscular long-haired dude. His voice was BAD-ASS in the first game, with this ludicrously-deep basso profundo that echoed in his weird floating stage- I thought he was TOTALLY wicked back in the day.

-Uranus was an odd Sub-Boss, in that she came mostly unexplained in the story, looked like an Angel, shot Arrows at you, and flew around instead of rolling or cartwheeling like the other characters. It turns out she's a remorseless killer, having murdered Gaia's wife (and nearly his daughter Ellis) in order to gain more power in their organization, and the ex-lover of Duke, giving her links to the rest of the cast. Alas, before anyone could get any revenge, Sho anticlimactically killed her & Master. Who WROTE this stuff?

-In the game, Uranus fought with a super-fast Bow (making her one of the few characters PL 9 with a RANGED attack- most in the game are utterly snail-like in terms of speed) and gigantic Wings that gave her a big reach advantage over most characters.

-Master is a truly bizarre Boss Character- a tiny woman with odd hair, she is nonetheless the ruler of the Himitsu Kessha corporation at the heart of the game, and throws out GIANT SWORDS as a standard weapon. Alas, despite this odd choice for a Boss, she never got any real characterization- Uranus gets all of the focus and character relationships, while Master... is just the person in charge. Nothing to her at all, really. She's PL 10 by virtue of being the Big Boss character, and is one of the more Damage-focused fighters as well. Plus she can float.

-Vermillion was an AWESOME hidden character in Toshinden 2. I mean, most Hidden Characters are Pallete Swaps or just otherwise enhanced versions of regular characters, but THIS GUY? Vermillion is a guy in a Swordfighting game... who uses GUNS as a common weapon! You don't even have to DO ANYTHING- those are his REGULAR ATTACKS! This makes him a pretty huge Game Breaker, since he can hit guys at high speeds from far away (whereas everyone else can only use slow-ass Chi Blasts), pretty well instantaneously. A PL 10 Blaster in a Fighting Game is a pretty huge deal, which is why it's a good thing he was just a Secret Character.

OK that's it for the Toshinden builds! Oddly, I still did only three posts a day back when I first posted them (in 2014, very soon before the ATT shut-down)- I was thinking it was pretty lazy as they're not that tricky to do... until I looked at the next set I did- The Simpsons. Now THAT took some research.

PS: HOLY FREAKING BALLS THAT SHERLOCK EPISODE.

An East Wind certainly blew in. And REDBEARD OMG.

That's not in any official canon books, either. The existence of this East Wind is what I was referring to as the spoiler, Batgirl- not feigned illness.
