Ah, so that's what that was. I saw a clip with girls as Lagoona and Venus, but didn't know it was for... movie makeup?

Yup, that's Face Off, for you. Basically, the episode was a giant advert for the toy line.

Complications:
Relationship (Father- Lord Armageddon)- Trauma is a dutiful son, but his father openly disrespects him and considers him a fool. He only appreciates his son after he died.
Relationship (Atalanta)- Trauma fell in love with The Pantheon's lady member while chasing her across the Earth- he later abducts her in order to marry her against her will.
Enemy (The Hulk)
Total: Abilities: 76 / Skills: 24--12 / Advantages: 12 / Powers: 57 / Defenses: 13 (170)
-Trauma is the son of Armageddon, an Evil Emperor and Hulk foe- he had a twin brother, who was killed fighting one of The Pantheon (Hulk's team at the time in the David-written book)- Atalanta, whom Trauma actually LOVED, to boot! When chasing her all vengefully, he fell in love with her- she mocked him, he tried to kill her AGAIN, and The Hulk buried him in an avalanche. Later, he went all King Kong and abducted her, intending to marry her in a big ceremony- The Pantheon staged a rescue, and Trauma was killed accidentally while fighting The Hulk. He died in his father's arms, begging the monarch to allow the heroes safe passage, and Atalanta actually mourned his death. Armageddon allowed this, but later fought the team again in order to resurrect Trauma- it failed.
-The Hulk's Jobbers are a bit trickier than your standard Jobber, since The Hulk is a staggering PL 12 under normal circumstances, and rapidly upgrades to PL 14- I assume Trauma fought the Professor/Banner-Hulk, who does that. So despite the fact that Trauma jobbed twice (dying in the latter incident- he fell onto his own costume spikes- one of the perils of being an early '90s villain), he's got to be a pretty high level to even be CLOSE to The Hulk enough to job. So PL 11 seems about right- the guy could fight on an even keel with The Thing, Sasquatch, Warpath or any numer of other Super-Heavyweights, and that's enough to last for a good while against The Hulk. Unlike MOST Big Powerhouse dudes, he actually has a COSMIC BLAST on him, as well as Armour that upgrades him considerably (giving him Impervious Toughness and Penetrating strikes). He's also a fairly-skilled Tracker.

I don't know anything about that time, unfortunately. Though those heroes would be four PL 12s and two PL 10-11s, so he could at least threaten them at PL 14. Heroes who technically have no upper limit (the Hulk; Superman when written by Jeph Loeb) tend to be trickier.Goldar wrote: ↑Tue Feb 14, 2017 9:47 pm Jab, where would you place Hulk in his early 300's issues--- those issues where Hulk was raging and all the Avengers of both coasts plus She-Hulk and Doc Samson could not stop Hulk?
Hulk was the angriest ever, fighting 4-7 of the strongest characters simultaneously: Wonder Man, Hercules, Namor, Iron Man, Subby, Doc Samson, She-Hulk plus all of the other members.
Would he need his own stats, or at Green Scar level?

Yeah, that was one of the best explanations ever- Quicksilver just goes into all the people that annoy others (guy at a restaurant who can't comprehend your order; guy who can't get the ATM machine to work and holds up the line), and then says that EVERYONE is like that compared to him. "You'd be suffering from PMS, too".greycrusader wrote: ↑Wed Feb 15, 2017 2:38 am PAD did more than one of these terrific ret-cons (just "unrevealed character history", really)-in X-Factor, he actually made Quicksilver somewhat sympathetic when he let it be known Pietro couldn't slow down his perceptions or thought processes. The whole damn word was in slow motion from his point of view, ALL THE TIME.
I still SOOOO regret his original X-Factor run ended before the payoff to several story arcs, both major and minor. The second time around was just...really odd.
All my best.

The X-Men tie in to WWH was my personal favorite part of that whole event. Just had a lot of really memorable and funny moments like that. My favorites though had to be when M tried to talk smack (M: "I'm invulnerable!" Hulk: "Go be invulnerable in New Jersey!" *punches her TFO*), and the return of the *real* Juggernaut. You know you've got cred as a powerhouse when one of the strongest incarnations of the Hulk can't beat you in a slugfest and has to resort to a tactic akin to something *Spider-Man* had to use in order to win.FuzzyBoots wrote: ↑Wed Feb 15, 2017 5:01 amHeh. -When Trauma was killed in battle against The Hulk, his father Lord Amageddon swore revenge. Also, Agamemnon of The Pantheon made a deal with him for immortality, so Armagedon is owed all of Agamemnon's offspring. I... have no idea how powerful he's supposed to be, because I can't find any evidence or pictures of him fighting. But I assume he's at LEAST as tough as his son is, if not stronger, so I gave him two more ranks of Fighting & Cosmic Blast, making him an ass-kicking PL 12.
-And thankfully, somebody DID read an issue or two, so I can surmise he's powerful enough to utilize New Villain Stink to temporarily bring down The Hulk AND The Silver Surfer with his Cosmic Blasts. He ends up as PL 13.5-ish, with a Blast equally Norrin Radd's. Though it's a bit odd to think that a Split Blast could hold down TWO guys with such high Toughness, given the limitations of Split in a Blast (and it's not like he'd have 30 ranks or anything, to justify Splitting it enough to hurt them), but then, Split works kinda funny compared to how it is in comics or real life- it's obviously for balance reasons, but then there's STILL Multiattack. So I threw in both, just in case (or you could just call it a one-off; it doesn't make TOO much of a difference in his final cost).

Re: Jab's Builds! (Roswell Conspiracies! Hulk Builds! U-Foes! Brian Banner!)
The best thing about the issue with the Lord Armageddon and Silver Surfer face-off was-after his "New Villain Stink" allowed him to knock the Surfer down a peg or three with a power-blast-Norrin Radd basically shakes it off and says "You wield great power-but I AM GREAT POWER"-and promptly blasts the Troyjan general six ways to Sunday.
But yeah...the New Villain Stink was evident in later appearances, when the post-PAD Hulk treated him like any other jobber (well, more like a PL 12 jobber who was mostly hapless against the Hulk without Troyjan weaponry backing him up).
All my best.

-As Marvel's "2099" line grew, it was inevitable that it would eventually add a Hulk to the roster. He debuted in the 2099 Unlimited title, an anthology when the "Unlimited" titles replaced the Annuals, and appeared more often (in order to sell the special-looking issues). He then got his own series, which only lasted ten issues before the whole 2099 line was dumped, considered a failure. He was a studio exec for a movie production company, doing research on the Knights of Banner- migrant worshipers of The Hulk. When they refused to sell their story to him, he reported them to the police, who killed many of the Knights. Guilt-ridden, he joined the Knights, but one of them set off a gamma device, causing John to transform into a new Hulk.
-At the time, I thought this guy looked pretty cool- unlike most Hulks, he was COMPLETELY inhuman, being more beast-shaped, with a pronounced muzzle, fangs and claws everywhere- basically a Hulkverine. John/Hulk would run around, righting wrongs and protecting the Knights, while having to deal with workplace issues as well- as time went on, the Hulk became more heroic, while Eisenhart grew more ruthless and calculating. He is killed in the 2099 A.D. Apocalypse series, being shot by special-energy guns from S.H.I.E.L.D. in the event that capped off the entire "2099" thing.
-Eisenhart is essentially a weaker, more animalistic Hulk, but retains his intellect while transformed. So he's still a bit pricey, but ends up a PL 11.5 Powerhouse who can still be shot to death by whatever was in those guns (they really just kind of tossed this guy aside).

I think the most ridiculous 2099 characters (that I know of) are probably Ravage 2099 (not related to the other guy named Ravage) and Punisher 2099.

-I swear they invented this guy just so they could have someone they could always put at the back of the Official Handbooks and not worry about getting it wrong (alas, The Shi'ar Imperial Guard now has a guy named ZZZXX). I have a similar theory about Aardwolf. Zzzax is an occasional Hulk foe who sometimes threatens other heroes, and is mostly without personality. A sentient Electrical Elemental, he buzzes around, draining high-tech electrical devices and power plants of their energy to strengthen himself, and drains people's mental faculties to build his smarts up a bit, and then he fights guys like a giant monster. He never amounted to anything big due to his lack of personality, but his sheer power level assures at least a handful of appearances here and there- he can brawl with '80s Hulk on an even keel, and could be trotted out to meet ANY hero of that level without looking out of place.
-Hulk threats can be hard to figure out, since Hulk himself varies in PL so much (early '60s Hulk was barely ahead of other heroes, while '80s Hulk would still be challenged by costumed humans at times), yet has to brawl with most of his enemies on some kind of even keel for a while. I generally just assume all his baddies are PL 11-ish, and Hulk has to push himself with his Boosts to defeat them. Hence guys like Zzzax, who are very powerful, but not overwhelmingly so (if guys like Luke Cage & Cable can often defeat them solo). Zzzax is a combination Elemental/Blaster/Drain-based guy, who can wipe out people's brianwaves (Drain Mental Stats), emit a powerful Aura of energy, and also beat the crap out of super-strong beings for a good long while. He needs to enact a Drain on two separate things to get the most out of his powers, but once he does, he becomes a major temporary threat.
