For whatever reason, this plot point was not in the anime, but I assume it'll be in Crystal whenever they get to that arc.

Also, regarding Brute Force, the group's return in the Deadpool bi-annual actually had quite a few inconsistencies compared to the original issues. For example, no mention is made of what happened to Brute Force's creator, Dr. Pearce. Assumedly he was arrested or something. Plus, some of the members have different names and have personality changes. For example, Surfstreak is now "Dr. Echo", and Wreckless is now simply "Bear" (because he "can't understand anything else") and was made dumber.
Yeah, the manga actually introduced a LOT of Sailors that were different elsewhere- Sailor Mars's crows, Phobos & Deimos, were turned into the Sailors of the Moons of Mars, but only temporarily in order to defend their mistress.

Disabled (Scent)- Dolphins are thought to have either no sense of smell at all, or only tiny amounts of scent capability. Their blowholes are closed when underwater, and useless in open air.
Responsibility (Saving The Environment)- Brute Force are eco-warriors.
Reputation (Destructive Saviours)- Brute Force are known for causing a lot of damage in their efforts to "save" the environment.

Total: Abilities: 18 / Skills: 42--21 / Advantages: 6 / Powers: 67 / Defenses: 13 (126)

-Surfstreak (check that Transformers-ish name) is the "Smart Guy" of the team. The Deadpool story featuring them has somebody called him "the smartest being on the planet!", though this is obvious exaggeration.

-Hip-Hop has no real gimmick, aside from being a kangaroo with sunglasses and armor (god I type some weird sentences in my thread sometimes...). He's a bit more spritely and quick than his larger teammates, but only makes his caps on Defense. Koroko describes him as a "fast-talking loudmouth" who listens to music, marking him as the "Team Fun Guy".

-Wreckless the Bear is a big, dumb brute. Despite looking like a big, green barrel in his Bio-Armor, he's extremely tough and durable, given that he's a FREAKING BEAR instead of an eagle or a kangaroo or something. Baseline Bears are PL 8 in my stats, so the upgraded Wreckless becomes a PL 9. And has a "Bearzooka".

This is such a bizarre concept... and yet, yeah, you're right, a different time and place and I can really see it becoming a hot toy franchise. The street has gone both ways, comics made about toys and yeah... some pretty nifty toys made from comics- like the Kenner DC series or the Marvel heroes.

Complications:
Disabled (Animal)- Cats cannot speak to humans, nor use their paws to easily manipulate objects.
Enemy (Hyenas, Other Predators)- Lions & Hyenas have a dark relationship with each other, frequently killing each others' infants, and stealing kills. Lions will also attack and kill other predators like Leopards and Cheetahs on sight.
Rivalry (Other Males)- Being King is nice, but every single other dude in the proximity wants to nail you girlfriends, and will fight you to do it. It's a constant struggle to keep your own genes going, and most males only rule for 2-3 years.
Normal Identity (Lion)- Without his cybernetic armor, Lionheart is reduced to being a regular lion. Which is to say, he's still hella-dangerous.
Responsibility (Saving The Environment)- Brute Force are eco-warriors.
Reputation (Destructive Saviours)- Brute Force are known for causing a lot of damage in their efforts to "save" the environment.

Total: Abilities: 34 / Skills: 32--16 / Advantages: 13 / Powers: 30 / Defenses: 11 (104)

-Lionheart is the actual team leader, but frequently argues with Soar over the role. He also looks pretty dumb, as the magestic, glorious lion is an ill fit for shining blue full-body armor. Like Wreckless, he has the bonuses of being a master predator, meaning that he's a lot tougher than his partners.

RIGHT?? And let's face it- this would HARDLY be the only "Animals With Weapons" franchise out there. Hell, it wouldn't even have been the WEIRDEST! Anyone remember Army Ants (I still remember a kid bragging to me that there were a series of "black" Army Ants- this turned out to be one of those "Kid Lies" you get a lot from youngsters who want to brag)? Or sillier, Barnyard Commandos?

Cripes, there's MUCH worse toy franchises out there. FOOD FIGHTERS was a thing! Look at these atrocities: http://www.virtualtoychest.com/f/foodfi ... hters.html

It's less of a wonder that Marvel tried something so silly, and more of a wonder why Hasbro or Mattel didn't throw money at them IMMEDIATELY, and then crank this stuff out!

Oh yeah, and special thanks goes to Spectrum & Koroko for these builds. Brute Force had ended up on "The List" under "B", and when I looked them up, I was immediately fascinated by the ridiculous idea. However, they have almost zero "online presence", meaning I had to give up on my attempts at building them.

Fast forward a year or two later, and Koroko asks me if it's okay to use my Animal Builds as a template for... Brute Force! He's actually got a set of builds planned! So I immediately agreed, promising him that I'd use his own stuff as a template for MY Brute Force builds in the future :). And so, here we are. This would have been impossible without Koroko having done the reading and research ahead of time. I only make a few modifications here and there, such as adding "Restricted" Feats to the Cyber-Armor- though really, I'm not even sure if they can be removed. And the "Restricted" Feat technically doesn't exist anymore, though it SHOULD.

-Armory, who has an AWESOME NAME, is an Octopus in power armor. Though he really shouldn't be that strong physically, as his armor only covers his HEAD. I mean, how is that suit of armor supposed to make his ARMS stronger? They're still rubbery, boneless structures!

Heavy Metal are pretty simple. Created by an evil businessman, they exist solely to oppose Brute Force. But yeah, I dunno how the armor is supposed to boost Armory either. I wasn't sure about the disparate PLs when I built Brute Force/Heavy Metal, but, well, it makes sense, given that a Lion or Bear in power armor is still going to be tougher than a Kangaroo or something. I'm wondering if Surfstreak deserves the Inventor advantage, something I didn't think about when I built him, since in the Deadpool story, he built upgraded suits for the team that are supposedly on par with Iron Man's Extremis armor, but again, that's probably just talk.

Hm, maybe.

And OH MY GOD, apparently Photobucket is now CHARGING for their photo-hosting, meaning everything I've posted from them (a HELL of a lot of stuff!) is now nuked. To the point where every single image now warns you about the problem, and advertises their site. And that's after months of piling everything they had into ads, rendering their site almost impossible to use.

Ugh, there is no way in hell I'm going to pay the amount of money that requires. What's a GOOD hosting site? ie. one that lets you host lots of images, for free, and is easy to access and use?

Thank God I never went the "put every pic on PB, instead of hotlinking from ComicVine" route.

Imgur and Gyazo are both free, with the caveats that Imgur only lets free accounts have a max of 250 images on your account (but the images will remain up), while Gyazo, on free accounts, only lets you have a certain amount of "activated" images that you can access from your account (but they can still be viewed and accessed via the image link, and will never be deleted). I use a mix of both. Tinypic is also another choice, I think.

My go to site for posting images is, appropriately enough, postimage.org

It has worked well for me, and it has no limit on amount of uploaded images (except for a maximum of 100 at once for batch uploads). I use an ad blocking extension on my browser, so I don't know if it has intrusive ads or not. It does sometimes adds an advertising link at the end of the address generated for your uploaded picture, but when it happens I just delete that last url=whatever bit.
