Man, SF EX sucked, as far as I'm concerned.

As for comments on the new people from SF IV and V, as I said, I hate the artstyle of those games, and thus have played very little of them (especially the incredibly lacking in number of characters and playable modes SF V, when I have MK X here).

SF EX doesn't have detailed enough move lists AND danielsan thinks it sucks?

Build challenge accepted! :)

(Though not really: it's going to take a *long* time to do all of KOF's roster.)

SF EX may not be great, but it gave us Skullomania. That I am grateful for.

BELOW-AVERAGE SIZED FIGHTERS
Role:
Low-End Speedsters
PL 7 (83)
STRENGTH
2 STAMINA 3 AGILITY 5
FIGHTING 8 DEXTERITY 2
INTELLIGENCE 0 AWARENESS 0 PRESENCE 0

Skills:
Acrobatics 8 (+13)
Athletics 7 (+9)
Close Combat (Unarmed) 4 (+12)
Expertise (Martial Arts) 5 (+5)
Perception 4 (+4)

Advantages:
Improved Critical (Special Moves), Move-By Action

"World Warrior" Fighting Style: Accurate Attack (Jab), All-Out Attack, Defensive Roll, Extraordinary Effort, Fast Grab (Grab), Improved Critical (Unarmed) 2, Improved Defense, Improved Hold, Improved Trip (Throw), Power Attack (Roundhouse), Takedown, Withstand Damage (Block)

Powers:
"Martial Artist" Strength-Damage +1 [1]

Offense:
Unarmed +11 (+3 Damage, DC 18)
Initiative +5

Defenses:
Dodge +10 (DC 20), Parry +10 (DC 20), Toughness +3 (+4 D.Roll), Fortitude +5, Will +4

Complications:
Motivation (Stuff)- Whatever it is, it involves beating the $#!% out of people.

Total: Abilities: 40 / Skills: 28--14 / Advantages: 2 + 13 / Powers: 1 / Defenses: 13 (83)

-There are only two characters this size in the games, but they're a minor upgrade in power from the "Speedy" characters. Just a little bit easier to hit, but still faster than normal.

Below-Average Sized Characters:

Image

SKULLOMANIA (Saburo Nishikoyama)- PL 7 (94):
ST
2 STA 3 AGI 5 FGT 8 DEX 2 INT 1 AWA 0 PRE 2 [6]
Skills: Expertise (Salaryman) 2 (+7), Expertise (Performance- Tokatsu Shows) 4 (+6) [3]
Powers: "Special Moves" Damage +2 (Inaccurate -1), "Throws" +1 to Hit Opponents Who Parried Last Turn [2]

-Easily the series' most iconic character, Skullomania is a Japanese salaryman who fights as a superhero by night, complete with Japanese-style hero tropes like the scarf (taken from Kamen Rider, and basically given to EVERY Japanese superhero since then) and a full-body Sentai-style costume inspired by a famous Luchadore, La Parka. A crappy salesman, Saburo was forced to perform in a "hero show" at a department store, but putting on the costume awakened a "fighting spirit" within him that allowed him to fight some of the world's greatest fighters! This AMAZING origin actually makes him a PROPER "Comedy Character" for the series, and his awesome costume puts him over the edge. Skullomania is awesome.

Image

HAYATE- PL 8 (94):
ST
2 STA 3 AGI 5 FGT 6 DEX 2 INT 0 AWA 2 PRE 0 [0]
Skills: Close Combat (Unarmed) +2 (+12) [1]
Advantages: Equipment 1 (Sword +3) [1]
Powers: "Special Moves" Damage +2 (Inaccurate -1), "Throws" +1 to Hit Opponents Who Parried Last Turn [2]

-Hayate is descended from a slayer of the Orochi (an origin story also used in King of Fighters; it's part of Japanese mythology), and is a current guardian of its prison. He, unlike most of the EX2 characters, did not appear in most of the latter games. He fights wielding a KATANA, but unlike say, Vega or Rolento, may not use his weapon at any point other than while doing a Special Move.

AVERAGE-SIZED FIGHTERS
Role:
"Ryu"-Type Guys
PL 7 (77)

FIGHTING 7 DEXTERITY 2
INTELLIGENCE 0 AWARENESS 0 PRESENCE 0

Skills:
Acrobatics 4 (+8)
Athletics 6 (+9)
Close Combat (Unarmed) 3 (+10)
Expertise (Martial Arts) 5 (+5)
Perception 4 (+4)

Advantages:
Improved Critical (Special Moves)

"World Warrior" Fighting Style: Accurate Attack (Jab), All-Out Attack, Defensive Roll, Extraordinary Effort, Fast Grab (Grab), Improved Critical (Unarmed) 2, Improved Defense, Improved Hold, Improved Trip (Throw), Power Attack (Roundhouse), Takedown, Withstand Damage (Block)

Powers:

Initiative +4

Defenses:
Dodge +8 (DC 18), Parry +9 (DC 19), Toughness +4 (+5 D.Roll), Fortitude +5, Will +4

Complications:
Motivation (Stuff)- Whatever it is, it involves beating the $#!% out of people.

Total: Abilities: 40 / Skills: 22--11 / Advantages: 1 + 13 / Powers: 1 / Defenses: 11 (77)

-The bulk of the fighters in the game are decently-built dudes who fit that Ryu/Dee Jay level.

Average Sized Characters:

Image

D. DARK (Doctrine Dark)- PL 7 (90):
ST
3 STA 4 AGI 4 FGT 7 DEX 2 INT 0 AWA 0 PRE -1 [-2]
Skills: Expertise (Military) 6 (+6) [3]
Advantages: Equipment 4 (Electrified Wire, Blades, Assorted Gear, Explosives), Ranged Attack 6 [10]
Powers: "Special Moves" Damage +2 (Inaccurate -1), "Throws" +1 to Hit Opponents Who Parried Last Turn [2]

-D.Dark is a gasmask-wearing psychopath, formerly of Guile's group, but he went nuts after being injured fighting a gang of Rolento's.

Image

ALLEN SNIDER- PL 7 (85):
ST
3 STA 4 AGI 4 FGT 7 DEX 2 INT 0 AWA 0 PRE 1 [2]
Skills: None [0]
Powers: "Soul Force" Blast 4 (Reduced Defenses 2), "Special Moves" Damage +2 (Inaccurate -1), "Rising Dragon" +1 to Hit Jumping Opponents [6]

-Allen Snider is based off of Chuck Norris, and has a pretty cool "story"- he's one of the top fighters in America, but came across the mighty Ken Masters, and found himself humbled and easily defeated. Working on his legs (after misinterpreting when Ken told him he was a "Frog in the well"- similar to "a big fish in a small pond"), he develops a style similar to Ken & Ryu in competition with them.

Image

VULCANO ROSSO- PL 7 (92):
ST
3 STA 4 AGI 4 FGT 7 DEX 2 INT 0 AWA 1 PRE 2 [6]
Skills: Expertise (Soccer Star) 6 (+10) [3]
Powers: "Volcanus" Blast 4 (Reduced Defenses 2), "Special Moves" Damage +2 (Inaccurate -1), "Rising Dragon" +1 to Hit Jumping Opponents [6]

-Rosso appears in a later game (EX2 Plus), and is a soccer star turned martial artist with crazy hair. His girlfriend was killed by a mysterious organization that Rosso used to belong to. His moves actually use LAVA and volcanic eruptions for some reason.

Image

Ace & the Cycloids. Which would be a pretty bitchin' name for a rock group.

ACE- PL 7 (119):
ST
3 STA 4 AGI 4 FGT 7 DEX 4 INT 1 AWA 3 PRE 3 [18]
Skills: Deception 6 (+9), Expertise (Secret Agent) 6 (+7) [6]
Powers: "Cards Installed In Spinal Cord" Variable 3 (Moves of Others) (Flaws: Limited to 7 Options) [18]

-Ace is the sole new character from the final game in the series. A secret agent sent by the government (??) to fight, he can copy the moves of other fighters by "purchasing" them in the game's "Store Mode".

CYCLOID-γ- PL 8 (128):
ST
3 STA -- AGI 4 FGT 9 DEX 2 INT 0 AWA 0 PRE -2 [-18]
Powers: Immunity 30 (Fortitude Effects), Protection 6, "Chun-Li's Lightning Kick" Strength-Damage +0 (Extras: Multiattack 4) (Flaws: Distracting) Linked to Affliction 4 (Toughness; Dazed & Vulnerable/Stunned & Defenseless) (Extras: Extra Condition) (Flaws: Limited Degree), AE: Strength-Damage +2 (+2 to Hit Jumping Opponents) (Inaccuate), Strength-Damage +1 (Inaccurate) [69]

-"Cycloid Gamma" is a wireframe robotic creature that copies the moves of other fighters, much like Virtua Fighter's Dural. He was created by Pullum's grandfater as a weapon for Shadaloo, and now flees them.

CYCLOID-β- PL 8 (128):
ST
3 STA -- AGI 4 FGT 9 DEX 2 INT 0 AWA 0 PRE -2 [-18]
Powers: Immunity 30 (Fortitude Effects), Protection 6, "Ryu's Hurricane Kick" Strength-Damage +0 (Extras: Multiattack 4) (Flaws: Distracting) Linked to Affliction 4 (Toughness; Dazed & Vulnerable/Stunned & Defenseless) (Extras: Extra Condition) (Flaws: Limited Degree), AE: Strength-Damage +2 (+2 to Hit Jumping Opponents) (Inaccuate), Strength-Damage +1 (Inaccurate) [69]

-"Cycloid Beta" is a shiny version of "Cycloid Gamma", with slightly different moves.

Hefty Guys & A Goddess

"World Warrior" Fighting Style: Accurate Attack (Jab), All-Out Attack, Defensive Roll, Extraordinary Effort, Fast Grab (Grab), Improved Critical (Unarmed) 2, Improved Defense, Improved Hold, Improved Trip (Throw), Power Attack (Roundhouse), Takedown, Withstand Damage (Block)

Initiative +3

Defenses:
Dodge +8 (DC 18), Parry +9 (DC 19), Toughness +4 (+5 D.Roll), Fortitude +5, Will +4

Complications:
Motivation (Stuff)- Whatever it is, it involves beating the $#!% out of people.

Total: Abilities: 40 / Skills: 18--9 / Advantages: 2 + 13 / Powers: 1 / Defenses: 12 (77)

-Another large batch of fighters are heavily-built, muscular fellows. And one Goddess.

Hefty Characters:

Image

When you're so bitchin' you don't even need to put your tie over your clothes.

C. JACK (Cracker Jack)- PL 7 (96):
ST
4 STA 4 AGI 3 FGT 7 DEX 2 INT 0 AWA 1 PRE 3 [8]
Skills: Expertise (Bodyguard) 6 (+6) [3]
Advantages: Equipment 1 (Baseball Bat) [1]
Powers: "Special Moves" Damage +2 (Inaccurate -1), Deflect 8 (Extras: Reflection) (Flaws: Source- Baseball Bat, Reduced Parry 2) [7]

-Cracker Jack is a pretty stylin' dude in a pimp's outfit, and clearly based off of Jigen from Lupin III. He became the bodyguard of Blair Dame after leaving his Las Vegas-based organization. He fights similar to Balrog's.

Image

EPIC.

SHADOWGEIST- PL 7 (92):
ST
4 STA 4 AGI 3 FGT 7 DEX 2 INT 1 AWA 3 PRE 2 [12]
Skills: Steatht 2 (+5) [1]
Powers: "Special Moves" Damage +2 (Inaccurate -1), "Throws" +1 to Hit Opponents Who Parried Last Turn [2]

-Shadowgeist is a masked vigilante and rival of Skullomania's, arguing with him over the best way to dispense justice. His wife was murdered by the government of an evil dictatorship, and his daughter went missing as well.

Image

KAIRI- PL 8 (92):
ST
4 STA 4 AGI 3 FGT 9 DEX 2 INT 0 AWA 1 PRE 0 [6]
Powers: "Nature Spirit Vortex Wheel" Strength-Damage +0 (Extras: Multiattack 4) (Flaws: Distracting) Linked to Affliction 4 (Toughness; Dazed & Vulnerable/Stunned & Defenseless) (Extras: Extra Condition) (Flaws: Limited Degree), AE: "Divine Soul Invocation" Blast 5 (Reduced Defenses 2), AE: "Demon Dragon Rending Light" Strength-Damage +2 (+2 to Hit Jumping Opponents) (Inaccuate), Strength-Damage +1 (Inaccurate) [9]

-The long-lost brother of Hokuto & Nanase, Kairi is all scarred-up and off on a journey to find himself after some amnesia left him without a personality beyond "Fight to get stronger!". In the first sequel, he becomes darker as a result of contracting some kind of demonic power. He fights using a "Shotoclone"-like fighting style. His power upgrades in EX2 Akuma-style, giving him 2 more ranks of Fighting and some boosted hitting power in his moves, making him PL 10 overall.

Haha, don't worry- I can go at least a week between instances of being creepily overly-into a fictional woman. There's nothing worse than running a joke into the ground.

...

OH, BABY! PUNCH ME IN THE FACE AND CALL ME WORTHLESS!!!

BLAIR DAME- PL 7 (90):
ST
4 STA 4 AGI 3 FGT 7 DEX 2 INT 1 AWA 1 PRE 2 [8]
Advantages: Benefit 2 (Wealth) [2]
Powers: "Special Moves" Damage +2 (Inaccurate -1), "Throws" +1 to Hit Opponents Who Parried Last Turn, "Shoot Upper" +2 to Hit Jumping Opponents [3]

-A wealthy woman from the Principality of Monaco, Blair nonetheless defies the archetype of "rich girl" by being INSANELY RIPPED, to the point where she's one of the few female powerhouses in Fighting Games. Also, she wears a v-necked wrestling singlet, hip boots and MY HEART.

  • AE: "Powerbomb" Strength-Damage +3 (Feats: +2 to Opponents Who Parried Last Round) (Inaccurate -2, Reduced Parry 1) (1)
Offense:
Unarmed +8 (+6 Damage, DC 21)
Initiative +3

Defenses:
Dodge +7 (DC 17), Parry +8 (DC 18), Toughness +5 (+6 D.Roll), Fortitude +6, Will +4

Complications:
Motivation (Finding Zangief)- Darun wishes to find "real competition" in the Red Cyclone. This involves beating the $#!% out of people.

Total: Abilities: 42 / Skills: 16--8 / Advantages: 2 + 13 / Powers: 4 / Defenses: 11 (80)

-An Indian counterpart to Zangief, Darun is based off of The Great Gama, a superstar Indian pro wrestler from way back when (like, 1900-1930 "way back when"). He acts as Pullum's bodyguard, while also seeking out Zangief for a match between "true equals", finding his own countrymen too weak.

Just in case anyone wanted to gaze into the depths of my insanity when it comes to posting order, here's what the bottoms of the page in my WordPad typically look like.

Posting Order:
1) DS Preamble, Demitri, Victor, Sasquatch----------------(BDE)
2) Felicia, John Talbain, Rikuo------------------------------(CCE)
3) Morrigan Aensland, Lord Raptor, B.B. Hood-------------(ADE)
4) Donovan Baine, Lilith, Bishamon-------------------------(CDD)
5) Pyron, Huitzil, Hsein-Ko-----------------------------------(BDE)
6) Anakaris, Q-Bee, Jedah------------------------------------(DEB)

Oh, and the space between the names and the letter grades is "Strikethrough" so that it leads directly from one to the other. And once I actually stat up the character, the name becomes bold, so I know where to go next. And yes, Morrigan is the only Darkstalkers character worthy of being in the "A" class, which is why I stuck her in the middle.

THIS IS HOW MY MIND WORKS.
