She's a female cop, half-American Indian, half-African mixed heritage, the only regular human companion to the gargoyles, and she was obviously much beloved by the fanbase. Today the fact that she's a female cop would come up constantly to showcase how white, male cops are evil, both sides of her heritage would have been used to talk about the evils of white men, of cultural appropriation, and she would have been some unstoppable Mary Sue constantly calling the all-male gargoyles out for their "problematic" behavior.
Funny thing is, Weisman DID have an agenda when creating the show, and intentionally put in a ton of multiracial characters. But the thing with him was and is, he's never preachy or annoying. Hell, we even had a Typical Native American "The Old Ways Are STRONG" episode that was only mildly annoying.

Weisman, like Al Ewing at Marvel, knows how to do it RIGHT.

And the big reveal about the entire plan, and entire episode, being just an excuse to get Xanatos' girlfriend out of jail? Well, it really set the tone for me that Xanatos was a villain of note. He always seemed to have a plan hidden under the main one, and while the good guys saved the day, Xanatos still got his prize.

I always got the idea that maybe Fox didn't blast Oberon. That maybe, just maybe it was Titania acting through Fox to keep her daughter from losing her child.
Mind you there's no evidence to support this, but it does seem strange that they're so confidant she has no magic, she suddenly gets some... and then nobody tries to train her as well. Seems odd.

Also got a good chuckle in regards to her meeting with her Dad where he notes that she doesn't have to keep stealing from him, he'd happily give her everything if she just asked him for it. And, of course, she wouldn't do that because it's not as much fun.
Yeah, I think he mentions something like "I'd have already GIVEN you my company if you hadn't married that SNAKE Xanatos!"

Xanatos's multiple plans were always fun. If only because they kept him a strong villain, in spite of his constant failures against the Gargoyles- it let the heroes win, but Xanatos retained his dignity and never looked foolish.

Enter Macbeth: This one's fairly infamous for it's bad animation (which Weisman said was actually WORSE in the original format- many things had to be redrawn, and it forced Disney to re-run the opening Five-Parter only three episodes later, which was pretty unheard of). Too bad, because it introduces the show's OTHER big villain, Macbeth. Everyone just kinda... MOVES funny, and many face shots are off-model. Giant-Head Syndrome abounds while Macbeth schools the entire Clan at once using Smoke, judo and electrical stuff (Gargoyle-Bane, essentially). We get a shot of Goliath flying from a crouch, which isn't supposed to happen, either. We do get a nice bit of continuity (Weisman frequently jokes that he snuck that into things- Disney wanted an easily-syndicated show of stand-alone episodes, and instead they got an episodic but VERY continuity-heavy piece that changes the status quo around constantly), as the arguments over the Gargoyles' stay at the castle grows over time- eventually they settle into the Clocktower, which was a pretty perfunctory base (nice exterior, but it was basically just a big brown room on the inside), though well-located above a police station. Hudson gets pretty embarrassed here, taken down by Macbeth, and then OWEN (well it's just a trip, but c'mon). Bronx shows standard Lassie-level intelligence with "Go, get help!" being understood.

An odd moment, as Goliath & Bronx appear on a major street in front of hundreds of witnesses, complete with photography- they're still supposed to be kinda secretive at this point, mind you. How'd they manage that if THIS happened nine episodes in? Turns out Macbeth wants to capture the Clan to bring out Demona, whom he hates. How freaking strong IS Macbeth? I can buy him tossing Broadway with Judo Power, but Goliath jumps from 20 feet in the air with a FREAKING MACE, and Macbeth just does the standard "hold sword up to block" move. Goliath can tear through metal walls like cardboard, mind you.

DOCTOR ANTON SEVARIUS

Disabled (Cane)- Sevarius walks with a cane, and will be slowed considerably without it.
Quick note, Sevarius needed the cane when he was pretending to be an older man for the episode introducing Talon. In his true younger form he does not need it, i would replace it with something to indicate that he can be easily threatened into performing tasks or providing information.

Oh, wow, I don't even remember writing that in the first place, or him ever using a cane. Damn- must have been building him based off of his debut :).

-Jackal is the token amoral "Crazy Guy" of The Pack, being retooled later into a clawed, creepy-ass cyborg. He's still obsessed with money, though. He & Hyena were basically the Jobber Duo of the show, frequently appearing without the rest of The Pack to do some robberies, assassination gigs, etc., and then get beaten down by the Gargoyles in a straight fight. I found him a bit hammy and over-the-top at points (Matt Frewer played him with a really phlegmy voice with lip-smacking glee), but he was a perfectly-suitable-jobber. He was as nuts as Hyena, but seemed to know when and how to commit murders, whereas Hyena was more wonton with it.

-Jackal's a pretty good fighter, and has some nasty claws. With his cybernetics, he's a MUCH deadlier opponent than he was at first, and can give most of the Gargoyles a pretty good fight (he's a bit higher than the Clan, but below Goliath). He's got a surprising amount of tricks thanks to all his weird cyber-crap (thanks to Catsi & Psion way back in the 2e thread for giving me encyclopedic detail on them- I watched the DVDs like six months ago and seemed to have forgotten it all- and GargWiki is oddly lacking in specifics for everyone's powers), so he's fairly pricey given his level. He's now roughly a match for any Gargoyle one-on-one, though still got his butt kicked alot in the show once they got wise to his tricks. His Claw Blast is a neat trick (and rechargeable!), but does less damage than a full-on claw swipe.

-As a normal human, he's much less powerful- The Pack did well against Goliath & Lexington with their weapons, but the SECOND the Gargoyles got close to them, it was over, and that was just early-season Lex & Goliath against FIVE Pack members.

Complications:

Motivation (Greed)- Hyena likes money in addition to murder.
Relationship (Jackal, Brother)- The two are twin siblings, and partners-in-crime, but tend to bicker and fight.

Total: Abilities: 60 / Skills: 34--17 / Advantages: 16 / Powers: 49 / Defenses: 10 (152)

-Hyena (breaking the canine-themed aspect of the group, but most people just throw dog-like traits onto Hyenas anyways) is pretty similar to her brother as a character, showing a similar lack of morality with a bent for dark comedy and laughing about people dying and stuff. Greg Weisman differentiates them in that Hyena is a psychopath, while Jackal is a sociopath. She, like him, was mostly a Jobber Villain who could be beaten pretty regularly by the end of the show. However, she had the added characteristic of being REALLY creepily in lust with Coyote, who was of course a ROBOT without any of the requisite equipment (at least, I could hope so).

-Hyena's more or less similar to twin bro Jackal in her stats, trading out some Ability Scores for the extra power of a Plasma Blaster, and more Combat Advantages. She's actually got quite a few cap-switching Advantages on her, and is really good at bluffing and working as a team.

Complications:
Honour (Believes in Law & Order)
Responsibility (Must Atone)- Dingo authentically feels bad at what he did in his past, and disgust for what his Pack teammates did to their own bodies. He feels as if he doesn't belong in "this freakshow" by the end, and goes off on his own.

Total: Abilities: 62 / Skills: 36--18 / Advantages: 9 / Powers: 42 / Defenses: 9 (140)

-Dingo was a nice little character, actually. While most of The Pack were one-note angry mercenaries, he was portrayed as the most level-headed and 'normal' of the bunch, an Australian guy who still preferred just being a Merc, and hated the Pack's descent into common crime. He ESPECIALLY despised the way Wolf, Hyena & Jackal all mutilated their bodies in a grotesque manner, just to be able to combat the Gargoyles one-on-one. Dingo just went for the simple approach- Power Armour. Eventually, he split with The Pack entirely, and was developed farther in a nice Outback-based episode, where he tried to atone for his past misdeeds, and aided the World Tour Gang in stopping a computer intelligence from destroying Australia (and possibly the world), developing into a hero of his own. I kinda get a kick out of recognizing Jim Cummings' voice with Dingo, seeing as how he's been in every Disney project basically EVER (including being the singing voice for Scar & Rasputin during their respective Animated Epics' "Villain Songs".

-Dingo in his Power Armour is a pretty effective PL 8 kind of guy, having more interpersonal skills than his psychotic teammates, being quite strong, and being equally good in Melee & Ranged Combat. Oddly, he has very few Advantages, mainly because he had no real "specialty" in combat: Hyena was fast, Jackal was fast, and Wolf was big and strong. Dingo was kind of a bit of everything, so he can't manipulate his caps like the others can (aside from Power Attack. His Power Armour is a pretty weak version compared to others I've built, but then- this is the Gargoyle Universe, where a gang of guys with guns might actually be a threat to someone. It does the job, in any case, and lowers his defenses enough that he doesn't break PL 8 caps in it.

-With the boost from Matrix (a sentient nanotech colony), Dingo gains even more power, effectively duplicating his suit with some additional powers (Extra Limbs 2 in one instance), but we didn't see the most of it's capabilities. Matrix himself could basically use Weaken Toughness on a Continent-Wide Scale, so I don't know what Dingo was capable of with the boost.

I loved the fact that events in previous episodes carried weight in later episodes, and that characters weren't always locked into being any one thing.
I was happy to see Dingo rise above what was going on and do a face turn.
