And that’s the last of the Kim Possible builds! That was an interesting set, bringing out a lot of nostalgia. I didn’t remember as much of the show as I’d like, which is possibly why I hesitated on it for so long, so I’m glad this set went over well. Here’s hoping it starts airing on Disney again (a good chance they will, with the TV movie being made), so I can properly re-watch the whole thing.

Doing wiki-based builds was a bit tricky, as the KP Wiki is oddly under-sized for a show that once had a monstrous, very vocal online fandom. They don’t have descriptions for a lot of episodes, and Summer Gale doesn’t even get a page! But I’m glad I got as much as I did.

Determining a posting order was tricky, as Drakken & Shego are overwhelmingly the most popular villains, and even get quotes BEFORE I can post them, but I didn’t want to post all the best characters immediately.

The show’s creators have moved on to the Big Hero Six cartoon, though it’s top writers and show runners haven’t, which is possibly why I never got into that show as much.

Huh... So does that mean Ron has the highest kill count of the entire series?

Marvel- The Letter “L”:
-The letter "L" has pretty much always made the same sound. It is notoriously non-existent in Japanese, with the "R" and "L" being one sort of combo-sound that sounds like both and neither at the same time.

Only a very tiny amount of major Marvel characters' names start with this letter. Big-ish names include The Lizard, The Leader, Longshot, The Living Tribunal, and The Living Monolith. A curio is that there are seven+ characters named "Lady _____" (denoting an English hereditary title through marriage) or "The Living ______", giving us a Brain, Eraser, Laser, Lightning, Totem, Mummy, Monolith and Tribunal.

Old Builds (With New Commentary):
Lady Punisher
The Living Mummy
Lady Lotus
Living Monolith
Lucifer
Lionfang
Lunatik
The Living Brain
Layla Miller
Longshot
Lifeguard

New Builds:
Lectronn (Thomas 'Tommy' Samuels)

Lockdown
Locust
Lynx
Lord Moses
Living Totem
Lava Men
Lady Daemon

Lady Daemon

Post by Jabroniville »

LADY DAEMON (Megan Daemon)
Created By:
Chris Claremont & Michael Golden
First Appearance: Bizarre Adventures #25 (March 1981)
Group Affiliations: None
Role: Magical Girl

-Lady Daemon hails from a strange Chris Claremont story in Bizarre Adventures, featuring some of his favorite things: Occult Mysticism (his wife is/was apparently a practicing witch), Hot Women, Weird Shit, and The UK. Mary Daemon's sister Alisabeth sacrificed both of their parents at different times in order to gain more power, then intended to sacrifice Mary as well, but she and her male friend, Ian McGinnis, fought her off. Ian shot Alisabeth, while Mary refused to succumb to the same dark forces her sister did. Their battle caused the fire that destroyed the Hindenberg. None of the characters ever reappeared, and her link to the Marvel Universe is tenuous at best- a brief mention of the Picts (the mysterious people said to occupy Scotland when Rome invaded) means that it COULD be the same Picts who show up in Robert E. Howard's Conan mythology. Though given this is a nearly 40-year-old black & white story, I doubt she'll ever reappear.

Defenses:
Dodge +7 (DC 17), Parry +8 (DC 18), Toughness +12 (+7 Impervious), Fortitude +11, Will +9

Complications:
Relationship (Jessica Jones & Baby)- Luke Cage is now a proud husband and father, and would do ANYTHING to protect them.
Relationship (Danny Rand)- Cage & Iron Fist go way back, and are the best of friends. He is also quite close to Misty Knight & Colleen Wing.
Reputation (Criminal & Thug)- A reformed criminal, Cage was framed for heroin dealing, and his status as an escaped convict still haunts him and causes others to mistrust him.
Enemy (Willis Stryker, aka Diamondback)- Cage's best friend framed Cage and put him in jail after thinking that Cage was responsible for Stryker's girlfriend leaving him.
Enemy (Various)- Cage has numerous low-key enemies: The first Bushmaster, various Chemistros, Discus, Stiletto, Coldfire (Cage's own brother) and Hardcore. Also, since The Purple Man once mind-raped his wife, he's rather pissy with Zebediah Killgrave.

Total: Abilities: 72 / Skills: 44--22 / Advantages: 18 / Powers: 23 / Defenses: 11 (146)

-Cage is strong (Class 12- a notch above Spidey in damage) and tough as hell, nearly-matching guys like Ben Grimm & Sasquatch on the "hard to hurt" front. You've got to do more than +7 Damage to even SCRATCH him, and even then he can modify many of his caps to come out looking tougher than his stats would imply. He mixes streetwise nature, investigative skill and raw mental & physical toughness into a build that is very capable at the PL 10 level, despite JUST missing his points-cap. He's usually not the major ass-kicker on any team he's in, but I have seen him brawl it out with Wonder Man thanks to his toughness and fighting skills.

-Cage in the '70s is much lesser than his present-day self, keeping the general strength & toughness but falling a ways behind in accuracy. He's a good, all-around PL 8 in this form.

-Lifeform is a pair of A.I.M. goons who got turned into the "Lifeform" after exposure to an experimental virus- he became insane, super-strong, and incredibly dangerous. Its two personalities include a suicidal pacifist and an eternally hungry maniac, causing it to become a constantly-mutating creature. George had wanted to become an actor, but his far-right anti-government father forced him to become a scientist- while working for A.I.M., he was supposed to steal the virus that gave him powers. George kills his father when he returns home, and is thought-dead when the Punisher targets him with a rocket launcher.

-He later reappears in a Daredevil Annual, where Typhoid Mary sees him off by appealing to his peaceful side, as he now has two personalities. Lifeform is then attacked by the police, much to the horror of Daredevil, and disintegrates thanks to boatloads of tranquilizers and firearms. Now popping up in The Incredible Hulk Annual, it's offered suicide by Mercy, who acts as some kind of super-Jack Kevorkian. He ultimately refuses death, however, and fights the Hulk, nearly dying after getting knocked into a fire. He later begs Mercy for death, but she refuses, as only half of him wished to die. Re-forming into George, he later meets the scientist who created the virus, mercy-killing him when he's dying of an illness obtained while creating it. Growing gigantic and even more unstable, Lifeform is hunted by Mr. Fantastic and the Silver Surfer, who throws it into a dead world already consumed by Galactus. The Surfer, unwilling to kill it despite the wishes of the good half, there abandons it, while the other half complains of hunger.

-This is... weird. He actually takes place in a series of 1990 Annuals, which is why he appears to fight four unrelated sets of characters, and is written by four sets of writers.

-In his first form, Lifeform has no Growth, and is thus only mildly super-strong.

-Oh yes indeed, there WAS in fact a girl version of The Punisher. Created during Frank's peak in the early-90s, Lynn Michaels was a "good cop" who turned vigilante after some busts went awry due to the usual "you didn't follow procedure" stuff (a child-murderer gets away with it when their evidence is deemed inadmissable), she started dressing like Frank and killing criminals alongside him. She even helps the vigilante named Payback when he's targeted by the police (he himself was an ex-cop). However, she faltered under the pressure and the nastiness of it all, and she vanished once The Punisher became a less popular character (most of her stories are only tangentially related to Frank's- she's often fighting people he's fighting, but in a side-story). The character has not appeared much at all since 1995, despite a big Punisher revival since that time- she merely appears in a War Journal story as a deep-cover agent, earning the respect of G.W. Bridge, but she is arrested for giving a man the chance to murder Jigsaw while he's in S.H.I.E.L.D. custody.

-Lynn's creator, Chuck Dixon, would later get a LOT more recognition taking over a lot of the Bat-Books in the mid to late-'90s. He came up with Birds of Prey and is by far the writer most associated with Nightwing, having written it for 70 issues. A guy at the local comic shop told me a story about someone asking him about Lady Punisher, and he blurted out "Well I'd use her if they haven't KILLED HER yet!", perhaps worrying about the status of his low-tier character.

-She fits in as a PL 8 version of The Punisher, and is less dangerous all around (she was more of a hanger-on than a major-league partner).

You can just say "Distaff Counterpart". or Rule 63'd, or Genderbent.

I tried getting away from “TV Tropes”-speak after some feedback saying I was doing it too much :). I mean, I’m aware Distaff Counterpart is used elsewhere, but people might not get it :).

Lord Moses

Post by Jabroniville »

Image

LORD MOSES
Created By:
Tom Brevoort, Mike Kanterovich & Dante Bastianoni
First Appearance: Fantastic Force #2 (Dec. 1994)
Group Affiliations: The Havenites
Role: Forgotten Villain, Armageddon-Creator

-Lord Moses was created for Tom Brevoort's failed Fantastic Force (a spin-off of Fantastic Four starring an adult Franklin Richards). He's a scientist who worked on the Manhattan Project who, horrified by what he'd wrought, went on a spiritual journey to find greater meaning in his life. Because this is the Marvel Universe, he discovered an alien craft which transformed him into some grey dude, and he decided to steal a virus from an old colleague in order to wipe the Earth clean of all mankind except those "Havenites" of his choosing. With his spikey head-thing, flowing cape, and grandiose suggestions, he basically looks drawn from The Great Box of '90s Super-Villain Cliches. He uses the Battle Elite as his top minions, and Zarathusra as a special agent- she is captured covering his retreat, but he never reappears in another comic.

-He's a scientific genius who appears very tall and strong, with a Blaster Staff capable of KO-ing several heroes of varying durability (the toughest ones probably being Vibraxas and the Black Panther).
