Extremely Envious of the Stormfather’s Much Greater Powers
Ask has become extremely envious of living in his youngest son’s proverbial shadow. Once the direct ruler of millions upon millions of terrified worshippers, Ask was slowly shoehorned by the Stormfather into giving up his primacy and turning to guard Ymir’s Door. The Stormfather has since skyrocketed in power, while Ask metaphorically marches in place now for millennia. This anger at his youngest son’s ‘trickery’ burns brighter and brighter as years turn to decades turn to centuries.
Lives in Terror Ymir Will Escape
Perhaps fortunately, Ask’s fears of Ymir’s escape overwhelm his jealousy at the Stormfather’s ascent, and he never acts on this bitterness towards his youngest son. Ask refuses to leave Ymir’s Door (which itself is physically within Ask’s palace in the City of Bronze), guarding against the First One’s potential return!
Quote: ”It is I who should sit upon the Yggdrasil Throne...”

Complications:
Blindly Loyal to Her Son the Stormfather’s Rulership of Lulultulul
She’s so full of pride and maternal love for her youngest son that Embla will move heaven and earth to help the Stormfather maintain his dominion over Lulultulul—-even when logic and sanity both dictate this might not be what’s best for Perpendicular-1. Embla’s impervious to any arguments not in favor of the Stormfather.
Highly Suspicious of Ve and Vili
In contrast, Embla sees her two other sons as schemers and manipulators. She keeps tabs on them as best she can, and Embla always looks for hidden motives with Ve and Vili.
