He is about 60ft above the surface of the water at the cove's (sea-facing) entrance. That is likely too high for you to jump, but I see no reason why Nightbird would not have brought her bike. You can also fool him into coming into melee range with a successful deception check as a move action.

So this is what I am thinking: Jason move next to Nightbird, still invisible. I want to put up a shield around Nightbird and Jason just before the missiles hit, but not so early as give Catastophe a chance to blow it down first. Can I hold my action and go after Catastophie? The round changes, and the rules are muddy on the idea of holding into your next round.

I could Move and Ready an action for after his turn, but if I do that and he holds his own action, will I still go before the missiles hit?

Yes, I would say there is no problem with that plan. You can hold your action into the next round (In 2e this was explicitly an option), and personally I don't see any issue with you specifying that you want it to take effect before the missiles hit regardless of what Catastrophe does.

Apologies for the delay in posting. Something has come up at work, which has made me unusually busy for a day or two. I will update Nightbird ASAP on Friday, and hopefully things will be back to normal after that.

Sorry for not responding sooner, Orokos kept glitching on me since Saturday for some reason.

PsiStrike, failing the Grapple check by that much leaves you Defenseless, Immobile, and Impaired.

I know, I just forgot to note it under Conditions. =/ She can still act with all of those conditions, unless that wasn't your point in bringing it up.

I just wanted you to be aware of it. Defenseless is pretty big deal in 3e. Any rolled hit becomes a crit.

kenseido is right. Although, if Calamity chooses the damage option from grab, I think she doesn't need to roll to hit, and thus doesn't get the auto-crit. So at least in this case, there isn't any one around to take advantage of the defenseless condition.

And there is Gelert's update, which was intended to be on Wednesday but took me longer than expected to write; unfortunately I also haven't been available on Skype for most of this week. I have been momentarily busier this week, because the academic year ends this week and this is traditionally a busier time for me. Things are now easing up, and despite missing Wednesday's update I hope to return to normal again. I will be busy for the next few hours from now, however Nightbird and Moonlight will both be updated after that ASAP.

Hello, this is just a brief update on what is going on. There is something game balance wise I need to discuss with kenseido before I update Nightbird. Unfortunately I have not been able to get ahold of him yet, so it is being delayed slightly.

For Gilliam, regarding your stunt:

kenseido and I feel that this is not allowed, because we intend to keep perception attacks rare (none of the Anarchy Command villains have any, for example). Stunting perception attacks as a response to trying to hit a hard-to-hit target is also problematic, because it devalues high attack characters.

You can stunt a different power instead. Alternately, you can begin the chase early by mounting your bike this round. This allows you to engage him next round without needing to make any checks.

Let me know what you choose and I will update you again very soon!

No worries I will jump on the bike and take chase instead.

Note to self invest points in ranged attack or specialise Sonic Array :)

I would also add that 3e doesn't give the option of spending an HP to power stunt, like 2e did. So you would not be able to power stunt and surge, as both require Extra Effort and you can only do that once per turn without the Advantage Extraordinary Effort.

And there is what was supposed to be Friday's update, again grievously delayed. Very sorry for that.

I believe all scenes are updated now. However, given that today is both Halloween and a weekend, I expect that most people will be busy celebrating until around Monday. I will still be around to respond to any posts on Sunday and Monday, but enjoy the festivities and don't feel pressured to post.
