haha, thanks! While my old "Animal Builds" set on Ronin Army was about as thorough as MOST people would need, I did want to hammer out the other basics.

-Overall called the "Casqueheads", these Lizards are related to Iguanas, and have large casques on their heads for display purposes, but are best known for their ability to run across water- this is because they have large feet with webbed toes enabling them to capture air bubbles. This lets them jet across the water for a period of time before dropping- an act that's given them the name "Jesus Christ Lizards". They are remarkably fast for such small creatures, easily reaching human-level speeds, even on water.

-I give the Basilisks not just Water-Walking, but Speed way beyond most animals of this size, plus Evasion & Improved Defenses- these are among the best escape artists of the type.

-Chameleons are the famous color-changers of the animal kingdom (but pale in that regard compared to Cuttlefish in particular), though this is more of a general stealth/display/body-temperature thing than the cartoonish "copy their exact background" feature. Still, it's pretty remarkable and not at all common among vertebrates, which means they're by far the most famous example of it. Chameleons also differ from other lizards by having prehensile tails AND eyes that are independently mobile, darting in big circles on "eyestalk"-like rounded bumps. Also weird, they have extendable tongues as frogs do. The Jackson's Chameleon, with triceratops-like horns on its face (used for dueling), may be the most distinctive reptile in the world. Chameleons naturally occur in Africa, Southern Europe & Asia, but have been introduced to the Americas, where they are highly destructive to native wildlife.

-Chameleons stat out as tiny lizards with a heap more stuff attached to them, including limited Blending, Extra Limb, Radius Sight (for the eyes) and extra Stealth, making them among the stealtiest vertebrates on Earth. They also have Ultravision instead of Low-Light Vision. Their tongue is also a power until itself, having far greater reach and accuracy than a frog's. All Chameleons are small, but some would fit on your finger- at this scale, size like that is barely a thing.

-Legless Lizards are actually quite numerous, but remain very obscure- they greatly resemble snakes, and live the same lifestyle, but have distinctly lizard-like heads. Most are burrowing predators who eat small animals. A handful of different families within the Lizard group maintain this body shape, making them somewhat genetically-diverse. The Grass Lizards are of the Spinytail Lizard family. Legless Lizards are a type of Gecko, and have evolved to lose their limbs, but some retain small flaps where the rear limbs would be. Almost all of them are Australian. Separate from these are the Slowworms and Glass Lizards- related to some legged lizards in their own family, they are common in Europe. Slowworms can be used to rid gardens of pests, but are easily victimized by domestic cats, against which it is defenseless. Slowworms may be the world's longest-lived lizards, reaching 30 years in the wild and up to 54 years old in captivity.

-Legless Lizards are nowhere near as quick as their legged relatives- these slug-eaters are infamously slow-moving and easily caught, especially in the case of Slowworms. Though most are burrowers, they do have functioning eyes, even the Slowworms that were nicknamed "Blindworms" due to their tiny eyes. Most, especially the Slowworms & Glass Lizards in the "Anguiforme" family, can shed their tails- Glass Lizards being named because theirs often fall into multiple pieces like broken glass.

-Blind Lizards are related to the Legless Lizards & Geckos, and are named for the fact that they are among the creatures whose lifestyle didn't require eyes, so they evolved them away! All that remains on most of them are some diminished eyes covered by thick scales. A few American varieties merely have tiny eyes left. Unlike most lizards, they lay a single egg with a hard, calcified shell.

-Also called Worm Lizards for their pink bodies and limbless forms, Amphisbaenia are almost exactly like Blind Lizards, but are their own distinct suborder of the Squamata- separate from Snakes or Lizards. Making up an enormous 300 species, they are nearly all limbless, elongated animals, most with poor eyesight. They have rings of scales surrounding their tube-like bodies, which move like an accordian through burrows. They actually live over quite a large chunk of the planet- mostly Southern Africa & South America, but little bits of North America & Europe have some, too. They have pretty ferocious-looking teeth, but mostly stick to burrows and eat larvae and stuff.

-Most lizards are really quite small, so even at this size you don't find a lot. These are part of the Tegu & Whiptail family- Caiman Lizards are among the few. These only eat snails (making them tough to care for by pet owners, which is the top source of information about the species), so aren't major predators. There's also the Gold, Black & White & Red Tegu, which have a more varied diet of small animals. Their stats are nothing to write home about- a 10-lb. lizard isn't a threat to much.

-The lizard most well-known for being venemous is the Gila Monster by far- it's part of a small group of five lizards that all have powerful hemotoxic bites that can cause respiratory failure in small animals. This is not really that dangerous to humans, but can cause localized swelling and dizziness- no deaths have been recorded after 1930, and those that died were usually heavily intoxicated or mismanaged the bite. However, what the venom IS capable of is causing the most pain of any venom by a vertebrate! Gila Monsters were slow-moving, but not prone to letting go- often the jaws had to be pried open or the animal submerged in water to get it to let go. As you might imagine, this gave the animal a fearsome reputation, especially in a place as pronet to tall tales as the American West. The Gila Monster is most well known probably because it's found in the United States as well as other regions, but the Beaded Lizards (including Mexican & Rio Fuerte varieties) can grow to be a fair bit larger- up to 9 lbs.

-These animals (the Hemoderms) are not that brutal as fighters, being akin to the "Small Lizard" build, but do have venom. Not that dangerous, but REALLY painful. So much so that it has its own effect- a solid Affliction that can Stun- it's been compared to like having lava flowing through one's veins.

-The largest Iguanas are South American vegetarians, but are among the world's largest and most spectacular lizards, with huge frills, long tails and large bulges on their throats. The Green Iguanas is typically the largest, but there is also the Rhinoceros Iguana and other Rock Iguanas of the Caribbean around the same size. The Marine Iguana is of similar scale, and has the same stats (its toes are no more webbed than that of the Green Iguana, though Marine Iguanas are algae-consumers). They are not great fighters, but are quite scrappy and VERY fast- most can hit 20 mph, which is around what the fastest humans can do!

-Many Monitor Lizards are not much larger than 5 lbs., including the Savannah Monitor, Spiny-Tailed Monitor, Emerald Tree Monitor, and many of the other Goannas of Australia. The Tree Monitors of Africa are also this size. Of a similar size is the Earless Monitor Lizard, a small reptile that's the sole survivor of its genus. Despite their tiny size, they hit PL 1 owing to great accuracy and defenses.

-Very large, these Monitors include the Lace Monitor and Perentie of Australia, and most iconically, the Nile Monitor, widespread across nearly all of Africa. The Bulky Rock Monitor is the longest and heaviest one in Africa. Crocodile Monitors are the longest of the Monitor Lizards (reaching past 8 feet), and are fairly scary, though not moreso than most mid-level predators- A Wolf or Hyena is more dangerous.

-Weighing up to 40 lbs., these are seriously powerful reptiles and a danger to dogs and cats. Overall, they're PL 1.5.

Disabled (Animal)- Lizards cannot speak to humans, nor use their claws to easily manipulate objects.

Era: Modern

-A Crocodile Monitor has more baseline stats for a big, heavy Lizard, and there's not much fancy about it.
