Follow up questions for Ericka might be how often is a Warden chosen and where can she find past Wardens to honor/speak with?

The mayor had said "this year's warden" when presenting Miriam. This one is a freebie since he had already said it, but it's evident to be an annual occasion.Flynnarrel wrote: ↑Mon Aug 08, 2022 4:01 pm Follow up questions for Ericka might be how often is a Warden chosen and where can she find past Wardens to honor/speak with?

Just waiting for confirmation from Gunmetal that Dog would hear it.
Got a response in mind already ;~)

Yeah, it's fine. The position of characters through this investigation is pretty fluid, so Dog can have been near by.
For future reference, Range L is 18 hexes, or 36 meters, or 100ft (roughly)

Re: Tales from the Trails (Soulbound) - (Full)
The only thing I can think of at this point is coming around the corner, going full intimidate (pray for a high roll) and act like I'm yelling at Lloyd for running amuck before apologizing for their poor misguided hillbilly friend to the guards.
"He means well, he's a good kid, but he just doesn't quite get it. He was raised in the sticks, didn't get much common sense. He was doing so well we figured he could go around on his own. He didn't break anything did he?"
Basically try to act as scary as possible without making it threatening towards the guards, and then trying to be friendly with the guards in the hopes that they're like "Okay, this guy isn't worth the risk, and he's being nice, let's just let this slide as long as he keeps things under control".
... I may be delusional.
I'm pretty sure I'm delusional.

pretty...
I know you have more research opportunities. Maybe Dog can get information on how the Warden 'protects' the town.

I'm not too worried about skills rolls for how you go about things. It's more the what you ask as players, and who your characters try to get information from.
Keep in mind, you HAVE a resource you can ask about the Warden's. The recently crowned warden that you're meeting up with.
I'm gonna give one more day to think of any last minute questions before getting this ride moving. You guys have collected a good amount of information as is.
I have you guys lots of questions to use in case some got used in ways that didn't turn out to be helpful. You're definitely not in a situation where you need to make every question count. ^^;

Re: Tales from the Trails (Soulbound) - (Full)
Hey guys... I just got some really not ideal news about my employment in regards to my impending move... long story short, I need to scramble to find a job within the next two weeks in order to try and find a place to live in the next two weeks.
My stress at this moment is panic-inducing and I can't keep this game up for the moment until things clear up, so I'm going to need to put it on pause for at least two weeks and hope I can get things sorted in the time.
I'm really sorry the posting schedule has been so turbulent, especially for you Arkrite as you had been planning to bow out after the current adventure so I had been wanting to try and keep it from extending for longer than necessary.
I'll check in if I get more news, and I'll understand if anyone is wanting to bow out in favor of any games that come up in the meantime.

Re: Tales from the Trails (Soulbound) - (Full)
Just wanted to drop in with a quick update on my situation in case any of you was worried about me.
I'm over the initial shock of being blind-sided so my stress levels are less in "panic attack" territory. My situation itself hasn't changed, or really improved just yet, I've just been able to process it and focus on doing what I can do.
Otherwise, I've got several feelers out for jobs, and once I actually get there, I can canvas door to door style looking for work while staying with my sister. It's not a great circumstance because I have a cat and she has a part pitbull breed dog that has way too much energy, and my cat doesn't really like other dogs/cats, but it should only be for a short time, and it's better than living on the street.
So that's my update. Hopefully I can report better news soon.

Re: Tales from the Trails (Soulbound) - (Full)
Quick update since it's been a while...
Move went more or less successful (a few roadbumps, but we got there)
Job hunt was a bit nerve wracking with a lack of replies, but got a bunch of calls all at once and got hired. Doing orientation and starting as of yesterday.
Next step is getting out of my sister's place and into my own. Once I get that done (hopefully within the next two weeks) I can start to get back to some normalcy. I have an appointment with a leasing specialist this week, so we will see what is available.
That is ultimately the last hurdle at this time. Well, I guess aside from making sure I get internet set up in a timely fashion
Thanks for your patience everyone.
