Brandon Warren
HP: 2, LP: 2 (-1=1), Condition: Fatigued at end of turn

Brandon's head snaps toward the van as the door closes next to him. Seeing the figure under the dash brings a glare.

Is this some kind of joke?

His hand makes a simple motion as he says "Forzare. The door lock mechanism switches and unlocks the doors.

Brandon opens the doors. "Excuse me, but do you really want to add grand theft to your lift of charges."

Before they can react, Brandon motions again while calling "Forzare." Invisible tendrils grasp and bind the would-be thief.
Spend an LP to counter fatigue
Standard action to use TK to open locks
Forzare: 1d20+10 29
Move action to open door.
Extra Effort to take another action to grab the would-be thief with TK
Forzare: 1d20+10 30
Forzare Grapple check: 1d20+16+5 31
If he wins, Brandon will Pin the guy.

Well, thank you Dice Gods. That was very generous of you.

Conner Flanagan
HP: 1
CND: Fine

"Clear the area! Explosives somewhere.", exclaims Conner with the urgency of one trained in stressful situations yet still controlled. Seeing in the the smoke was difficult, but he had to work through it to find the explosives. They had to be somewhere.
Notice 24(with take 10) for trying to track down where the explosives are
If he gets a whiff of a location he'll move to it

@ Conner, there are a pile of bags and stuff where the magical wind blew them..

BTW‐ Have a HP for the sheer ridiculousness of that last move.

Before you can go and check the guy you smashed in the face pulls something out of his clothing. You recognise a detonator when you see one.

He shouts, "nobody move or I detonate the bomb."

People freeze like deer in the headlights.

@Danni - your action.

Danni Morgan

Danni had had some basic EOD training, but it was mostly more crude, IED-like devices. Even so, between the look of the detonator and Conner's statement, this added up to "Nothing Good". She blinked her eyes again, clearing the last lingering gas, and brought the stock of her rifle up to her shoulder in a smooth, practiced motion. The world around her faded, dwindled, drawing down into a tiny circle around the blade of the front sight. Her breathing slowed, her finger tightened ever so slightly...

Ready.

>OOC:
-Move action, with Deadeye, to Aim; Concentrate DC 15 1d20+10= 28, roll https://orokos.com/roll/916825
-Standard Action: Covering with an Aimed shot- in this case, Aimed at the detonator, and she will take a shot if his hand comes off the switch (or possibly if other things happen, since the Covering shot can be made at any time, but the 'hand off the button' is a definite trigger to save time/back-and-forth). Ranged rifle attack (Aimed) 1d20+10+2 (Aim)+4 (Improved Sunder, since she is targeting the held item)= 17; roll https://orokos.com/roll/916835 (Oh look, another natural 1- she will use her HP to reroll that; reroll 1d20+16= 25, actually 35, since the reroll boost that from a 9 to a 19, though I don't think that makes it a crit like a normal 19 would be, roll https://orokos.com/roll/916837
(She also has Precise Shot 2, so it negates defense bonus for anything less than total cover, and miss chance for anything less than full concealment)

so we're in what, a 300-mile from Mexican standoff? ;)

Douglas Reach
HP: 1 - 1 gain Feat for scene = -0
CND: Fine

Douglas, ignoring the threat, raised to a standing posture after checking out the the under side of the prison transport and maneuvers to the side of the transport. Using the corner of the vehicle as cover he brings his rifle to bear on the man with the denotator.

"This isn't going the way you planned is it? You denotate that bomb and you kill yourself and your partner. Are you ready to die just to get at a couple cops?"

Douglas's tone emphasized the futility of the situation. The inequitable trade of the assailant's lives for their targets. Then his voice turned commanding.

"Hand over the denotator. Drop your weapons. Walk away and call it a day."
OOC wrote:Assuming the bomb isn't detonated when Douglas outright ignores the threat ...

Using 1 HP to have the Distract (Intimidate) Feat for the scene.

Douglas uses Distract to try to prevent the person with the denotator from triggering it (canceling their Standard Action/Ready Action): Distract (Intimidate): 1D20+6 = [3]+6 = 9

The bomb guy's Will/Intimidate/Sense Motive is DC 9.

The guy glances at Douglas. 'F**k you. Let my partner go and we will get our asses out of detonator range. We would rather die than get taken alive. Honour demands it.'My hand is starting to get tired. Don't screw around."

Douglas Reach
HP: 0
CND: Fine

In a raised voice Douglas addressed the man with the denotator. He wasn't primed to trigger it for simple maneuvering. His test had revealed that much.

"Sure, you can walk away as soon as you hand over the denotator and drop your weapons. You haven't killed anyone yet. We can afford to let you go as long as you don't pose an obvious threat to these civilians or the prisoners."

Then, lowering his voice he smoke quietly over coms.

"Knight, when you get a bead on the bomb point Bishop to it."

@Douglas, you are a master at reading people. You see the lack of tension in his body, the focused gaze, the measured assessment oh his situation. You see a person who has resolved himself. You do not think he is bluffing. You think he would rather die than be taken prisoner or let his partner be taken.

Conner Flanagan
HP: 2
CND: Fine

"You had to be one of those suicide bombers huh? What happen to criminals who weren't suicidal? Hold on a sec, gotta listen to someone who doesn't want to kill themselves.", says Conner. He wasn't a negotiator and now wasn't the time to play one either. Given his time in the force, he didn't feel like dying right now either to protect some dirty cops. Duty was duty though.

Lowering his voice Conner speaks over the comms. Bombs in a pile of bags., says Conner in a low voice so as not to be overheard adding where the pile is located.

Lifting his voice again, Conner decides to start backing away from the man with the trigger. "You might want to die today, but I don't feel like going down with you.", says Conner.
