Look, up to this point there's builds I like, to be sure. There's builds I genuinely love. But this. This is the spot where the Blendarama started living up to its name. And it's the original reason I say you can put anything in a Battlesuit. They don't need to all be Iron man knockoffs. The thing that's always tickled me, and kind of remains here in 3E, is it's virtually invulernable to Area Damage. With Impervious 10 and Evasion 2 on tap, you got to throw a high rank at 'em to do damage. I think Speedster Battlesuit is an incredibly fuckin' rad idea. I hope you do too, Dear Reader.

Cloud 9 is, I think, one of the things that's wrong with modern comics in general. She came out of the Initiative. Civil War's follow up. She was part of a big group of brand new characters, aka problem one. She had a unique power with a likeable personality. But said power required some imagination to be made useful, and modern comics battles are quick punch ups with no real strategy beyond who's stronger, so strike two for poor Cloud 9, who could only fly. Strike three and the nail in her creative coffin was when someone decided to make her useful in modern comics battles, they turned a cheeful, likeable, and nice girl into a sniper. There's character arc territory to be mined there, but not for a secondary character in a tertiary book. So now, instead of some girl happily flying on her own personal cloud, she was a cold sniper with her own personal sniping platform. Wearing a ugly ass generic armored costume that completely erased her original visual identity. No wonder she doesn't appear much anymore. Crammed firmly in the background. Sigh.

Still. I liked her. So I built her. And you'll probably recognize her as the source for STG Squad A's Nimbus, over in the Phoenixverse.

First, I agree with you on the Cloud 9 character from Avengers Initiative; while I actually often enjoyed that series, her moral slide down into callous sniper/assassin never moved past anything BUT an example of "descent into darkness". Also, the book basically told that story several times over with various characters. I suppose it reflected the era, but a Cloud 9 who recovered her psychological bearings would be a nice coda to the series, one who focuses on using her abilities for search and rescue missions, or concentrates on non-lethal weaponry and the tactical advantages of her powers to rescue hostages and kidnapping victims.

The Powerhouse Archer is a nice variation, one which would work well for myth-based heroes such as Herakles, or the Celtic Strongbow.
