The Seventh Original Brainstorm & Notes

The Seventh Original
Premise: A single difference can change everything! During the battle in the Department of Mysteries, Harry Potter gets caught in the destruction of the Time-Turners and ends up being sent back to the middle ages. How will this affect the future for both the Wizarding World, and the denizens of Mystic Falls?
Required Inclusions:
- The backlash caused by the destroyed Time-Turners must simultaneously send Harry to the Middle Ages and de-age him to the point where he is, at most, ten years old.
- Harry must be found by Esther, who convinces her husband, Mikael, to adopt Harry as one of his own children, who will forevermore be known as Henrik Mikaelson.
- Henrik must possess a latent werewolf gene from his mother’s side of the family that manages to save him when he is attacked by a transformed werewolf.
- Out of all his siblings, Henrik must be closest with Elijah and Rebekah, even if Elijah wasn’t all that close with the canonical Henrik Mikaelson.
- Esther must include Henrik when she creates the Original Family of Vampires; which, in this story, could be inspired by Henrik’s near-death experience, rather than his untimely demise.
- Henrik must fully activate his Werewolf Gene at around the same time as Klaus, while also avoiding the fate of having his lycanthropy bound by the wiccans.
- Henrik must be the only original, other than Elijah, who manages to avoid being staked by Klaus prior to the first episode of The Vampire Diaries.
- Henrik must at some point travel to Great Britain and deal with Voldemort once and for all, though it is preferable if this occurs after his temporal counterpart travels to the past.
- Henrik must arrive in Mystic Falls at around the same time as Elijah, though they do not need to be sharing company with one another when they turn up.
Preferred Inclusions:
- Henrik should be romantically involved with at least one of the following girls: Rebekah Mikaelson, Katerina Petrova, Davina Claire or Hayley Marshall.
- Henrik should possess a similar moral code to Elijah, meaning he values trust, honesty and loyalty, which would only be natural for someone with an active Werewolf gene.
- The prejudice that wand-wielders hold for werewolves and vampires should make it very difficult for Henrik to rebuild any relationships he had prior to his jaunt through time.
- Harry should travel to New Orleans at around the same time as Klaus, Elijah, Rebekah and Hayley, though whether they travel as a group, or not, is up to the author.
Optional Inclusions:
- Henrik could have an antagonistic relationship with his elder brother Kol, and also possibly with Klaus, with the latter rivalry being the result of Klaus nearly getting him killed.
- Harry could possess perfect control over his vampiric bloodlust, though whether this control extends to his predatory instincts as a lycan is up to the author.

- Henrik being romantically interested in men.
- Henrik engaging men in carnal activity.
- Henrik the pathetic emo doormat.

Complications
- Blood Dependency: Henrik must consume blood on a regular basis, or else his body will desiccate, leaving him Defenseless and Immobile.
- Honor: Henrik's solemn word is as good as a magically binding contract, and once he gives someone his trust, he will show them his loyalty until their dying day unless they do something to betray his trust. Furthermore, he will put his all into protecting those who he recognizes as a part of his pack.
- Invitation Required: Henrik must receive a verbal invitation to enter the home of a living creature; though municipal dwellings, such as hotels, do not offer this protection.
- Motivation: Protector: Henrik is highly motivated to use his powers to protect others. He willingly puts himself at risk to defend innocents and those he cares about.
- Power Loss: Henrik's Toughness is not Impervious against magical attacks, wood taken from the White Oak tree, or the bite of an Upgraded Original vampire. He is also unable to use his Vampiric Gaze power on anyone who is wearing, or who has ingested, the herb known as Vervain.
- Relationship: Henrik is the adoptive son of Mikael Thrainsson and his wife, Esther Helberg, which also makes him the youngest of their seven children. Furthermore, he is the time displaced son of James and Lily Potter, and heir to the Peverell legacy.
- Weakness: Henrik is vulnerable to certain herbs that can cause him to lose consciousness and will suppress his magic, as well as to the blood of a shamanic huntress, which deprives him of his magic and functions as a slow-acting poison.

Complications
- Accident: Davina is the vessel for the combined magical energy for three other young witches, and only a very limited magical education, meaning that she has great difficulty controlling this power, and may even kill herself if she channels more power than her body would normally be capable of handling.
- Hatred: Davina absolutely despises her mother, as well as the other members of the French Quarter Witches Coven, since they fully intended to kill her right along with three other girls, all in an effort to retain their communion with the local Ancestral Spirits.
- Motivation: Thrills: Davina grew up living a quiet and very sheltered life, which caused her to become a hot-tempered and impulsive young woman who exults in the joys which come from the sort of high octane adventures one only gets as the future mate of an Original Vampire, or Hybrid in this case.
- Power Loss: Davina must retain a strong conviction that her powers will work, or else they will begin to falter. She must also be able to concentrate on her spells in order to succeed in casting them.
- Significant Other: Davina has effectively become the ward of Henrik Mikaelson, since it was his intervention in the Harvest Ritual that saved her from an early grave, and he is also the one who has taken on the task of teaching the young woman how to properly channel her newfound magical abilities.
- Weakness: Davina is vulnerable to certain herbs that can cause her to lose consciousness and will suppress her magic, as well as to the blood of a shamanic huntress, which deprives her of her magic and functions as a slow-acting poison. She is also vulnerable to the Mystic Falls Founders Bell, which when used in conjunction with the Staff of Arcadius and Maxwell Striker will give Davina an excruciating headache (i.e. the Dazed condition).

The Watcher on the Walls
Premise: After the War with Voldemort, Harry was approached by a mysterious organization who gave him an offer he would have been a fool to refuse; but The Watchers Council should have done a better background check on their new member’s character. Had they done so, they would have known that even as a Watcher, Harry would always play fast and loose with the rules.
Required Inclusions:
- After the War with Voldemort, Harry will be recruited and trained as a new member of the Watchers Council, which supervises the young women collectively known as the Slayers.
- Harry’s first assignment will be to replace Faith Lehane’s deceased watcher, and he will be instrumental in keeping her aligned with the good guys.
- The Watchers Council and Wizarding World must be aware of each other’s existence, but usually opt to keep their interactions to a minimum, until the Watchers see Harry’s potential.
- Harry will need a valid cover story after his arrival to Sunnydale, and what better way than to create one by starting a business? Which kind of business will be left to the author’s discretion.
- Instead of sending Wesley to replace Giles, Harry will step into the recently freed position since he will already be in Sunnydale.
- Harry must be a few years older than the Scoobies, but not so old as to make a romantic relationship with a select number of young ladies ill-advised.
- Harry’s main romantic partner will be Faith Lehane; other women will be allowed should they obtain Faith’s permission to join in on the romantic activities.
- While Harry won’t be as physically able as a fully realized Slayer, his innate Sorcerous Resilience will allow him to fight against the dark forces more easily than a normal human.
- Harry must be willing to hear Giles’ advice, since the man has a significant amount of experience, even if the younger Watcher won’t always listen.
- While Giles seems beholden to the Council, that won’t be the case for Harry. He can and will do what he thinks is best even without their approval, like when he hires Giles as a consultant.
- One of the side-effects of the various Hellmouths must be the impracticality of enforcing the International Statute of Secrecy in such places.
- Harry and Buffy will often butt heads over who should be trusted and who shouldn’t (e.g. Spike, Angel, Drusilla, etc…)
Preferred Inclusions:
- Harry should enjoy playing “Dodgeball” with vampires by using magical balls of fire as his ammunition of choice. Bonus points if this catches Spike completely off guard.
- Harry should have undergone lasik surgery, or the magical equivalent thereof, in order to fix his chronic myopia; or his myopia could have disappeared when the Scarcrux was destroyed.
- Even if Wand wavers and Wiccans are from two different schools of magic, Harry should be able to help Willow and Tara understand the risks of using their powers irresponsibly.
- Harry should have learned how to use magic without a wand, that way he can still fight even after being disarmed, or in the event that his wand is destroyed (again).
- Harry should erect powerful protective enchantments around his place of business so vampires can’t enter it all willy-nilly, like they can in other public places.
- The difference between Oz and the Potterverse werewolves should be the fact that Oz is one of a small number of muggle werewolves, since most of his kind won’t survive the transition.
Optional Inclusions:
- After Harry learns the true extent of Buffy and Angel’s relationship, he could quip to the young woman that she should be the one staking the vampire and not the reverse.
- Vampires could be a gray area, jurisdiction wise, between the Watchers Council and the various Ministries of Magic.
- The assumption that vampires are soulless creatures could be proven false after a vampire falls to a particularly well-aimed Killing Curse. The question is, who would fire off the spell?

- Harry engaging Buffy in a romantic relationship.
- Harry being romantically interested in men.
- Harry pandering to the Council’s whims.
- Harry being transformed into a vampire.

Complications
- Androphobia: Not only does Faith believe that every male on the planet is secretly a pervert who would like nothing better than to have their way with any woman who enters their field of vision, but she feels extreme discomfort whenever she is touched by a man. The problem is that the act of slaying monsters causes Faith to enter a state of hyper-arousal that can only be relieved by a man.
- Enemy: The vampire known as Kakistos would like to find Faith so that he can finish the job he started when he murdered her original Watcher, Diana Dormer.
- Motivation: Acceptance: Faith wants both family and friends to call her own, as well as the respect that would normally be given to a Slayer for protecting the masses. The problem is that she despises her parents, grew up without any friends, and likes killing just a little bit too much to be concerned about protecting the masses.
- Nemeses: Faith is the daughter of Pat and Janice Lehane, both of whom are alcoholics, with her father also being indebted to "Handsome" Jimmy Mulligan, who is the leader of an Irish mafia gang that operates out of Boston.
- Significant Other: Faith has begun to develop romantic feelings for her new Watcher, Harry Potter, and it would seem these feelings are mutual. It needs to be said that Harry is one of the only men in the world who Faith would willingly settle down with because they suffered through equally traumatic childhoods.

Complications
- Age: Gabrielle is still below the age of Wizarding Majority, and thus unable to use her wand outside of Beauxbatons without drawing unwanted attention from the magical government of whichever country she happens to be in when she casts the spell.
- Honor: Gabi will always keep her word once she has given it to someone, strives to uphold the common good, and is never underhanded in her dealings.
- Motivation: Recognition: Gabrielle would like nothing better than to be claimed as a mate by her childhood crush, Harry Potter. She firmly believes that no one else can possibly satisfy her.
- Power Loss: Gabi is unable to use her "Allure" descriptor effects while in her Battle Form.
- Prejudice: Slayers tend to react very badly towards Veela, since every single Slayer is a woman, and Veela tend to steal romantic attention away from other women without even really trying to do so. It probably doesn't help matters that Veela have their own variation on a Vampire's infamous "Game Face."
- Relationship: Gabrielle is the youngest daughter of Apolline & Jacques Delacour, which makes her the younger sister of Fleur Weasley (nee Delacour) and sister-in-law to Fleur's husband, William 'Bill' Weasley, as well as the aunt to their cute little girl, Victoire Weasley. She is also one of several grandchildren to the current Queen of the Veela Nation.
- Weakness: Gabi suffers an additional degree of effect from Cold-based Attacks. She also becomes Vulnerable when exposed to an Intensely Cold environment, and Defenseless when in an Extremely Cold environment (the latter of which was Fleur's problem in the Black Lake during the Second Task).
