Real Name: George Gains
Height: 6’ 6”
Weight: 340 lbs
Hair: Brown
Eye Color: Brown

Complications:
Fighting Is His Business: Deadknight seems to wholly enjoy fighting and will sometimes “play” with his opponents simply to prolong their conflict.

More Than Just Another Magical Weapon: Members of the Lodge recognize the axe named Bonereaver as part of a set of artifact weapons forged during the Magi Wars. There seems to be a presence held within the weapon that has a long reaching goal that is a mystery at the moment, but the Lodge elders are sure the other artifact weapons are set upon the same goal.

Not In Control: George Gains has been completely taken over by the spirit that inhabits Bonereaver.

Temper: Deadknight has a short fuse and is easily angered.

Background: George Gains, a prison guard at New Alcatraz took possession of the mystical axe, Bonereaver, from the storage locker at New Alcatraz. Within a few days the supervillain Deadknight was fighting with Draco of the Vanguard and while it was a short fight thanks to Deadknight’s inexperience, he did manage to retain his freedom. From there Deadknight has traveled across the country doing random acts of destruction which brought him into conflicts with various heroes over the years. Deadknight seems to enjoy the fighting more than anything and it is considered by criminal psychologists to be a major reason for his committing criminal acts.

However, the Lodge knows otherwise, and they have been discreetly keeping tabs on George as they know some of the history of Bonereaver - it is one of the legendary artifacts made during the Magi War centuries ago. The Seventh Circle, the leaders of the Lodge, know that Bonereaver has taken over George to pursue some secret agenda and want to take possession of Bonereaver and lock it away where it can do no harm.

Members of the Lodge realize that there is more to Bloodspill than meets the eye as she possesses the twin artifact daggers they know as Deathdealers, magical knives forged during the Magi Wars centuries ago. Their agents seek to capture Bloodspill and take Deathdealers from her but have yet to come close to succeeding. The Lodge is also aware of several other artifact weapons that have taken over other people as well and they suspect that the weapons have a long-term plan that they are slowly working to achieve, however they have no idea exactly what that plan might be.

Real Name: Natasha "Tasha" Jackson
Height: 5'8"
Weight: Unknown
Hair: Red
Eye Color: Green

Complications:
More Than Just Another Magical Whip: Members of the Lodge recognize the whip named Flayer as part of a set of artifact weapons forged during the Magi Wars. There seems to be a presence held within the weapon that has a long reaching goal that is a mystery at the moment but the Lodge elders are sure the other artifact weapons are set upon the same goal.

Not In Control: Tasha Jackson has been completely possessed by the spirit that inhabits Flayer.

Secret Identity: The fact that Tasha Jackson is the supervillain known as Lashtasha is a secret she keeps.

Background: How and when Tasha Jackson came into possession of the cursed artifact weapon Flayer isn’t something she has shared, and given the fact that Flayer has taken control of Tasha it is doubtful she ever will.

None the less, like the other cursed artifact weapons, Flayer seems to be enjoying the mayhem and chaos it is causing. Those actions of brought Flayer, and Tasha (better known as Lashtasha now) to the attention of the members of the Lodge (an secret society of mages that seek to mediate the efforts of various supernatural creatures) and its leadership (the Seventh Circle) are sure there is some kind of an overall plan that the corrupted weapons are subtly working on but have yet to figure out what that plan might be.

For the time being the Lodge continues to watch Lashtasha’s actions in the hopes that they can deduce the overall plot as well as take possession of the cursed weapons and lock them away so they can no longer threaten humanity.

Plunder Inc.

Post by Tattooedman »

Plunder Inc.:

A group of supervillains who gathered together to support one another in committing various crimes – preferably in robberies and other similar crimes, as they have no interest in world domination as several other “super villains” seem so interested in. What also sets them apart from their peers is a code of conduct they maintained - they do not kill and refrain from any kind of drug usage or crimes involving them. While they lack the wider name recognition of the villains who regularly opposed the Vanguard, they formed a distinctive group through their unique blend of colorful costumes, diverse powers, and unusual abilities. They lack any single defining element or theme between them and had no significant ambitions in their criminal enterprises beyond straightforward robberies.

Real Name: Tiffany Caputo
Height: 5’4”
Weight: 135 lbs
Hair: Brown
Eye Color: Blue

Complications:
Motivation ~Greed: Dragonfly just wants to make money.

Prejudice: Alpha criminal.

Relationships: Dragonfly is friends with the other members of Plunder, Inc.

Background: When Tiffany Caputo’s Alpha abilities manifested she immediately understood that her life was never going to be anything close to normal again due to the obviousness of her powers – it’s hard to get a job when you’re sporting a pair of reptilian wings. For the first couple of years she was more than happy pulling low-end robberies to support herself despite those actions earning her the reputation of being a “jobber” (someone who normally jobs out (i.e. loses regularly) to super heroes) despite the fact that Tiffany rarely ran afoul of superheroes.

She would eventually become tired of barely making ends meet, wanting to go after bigger and better jobs to make more money and live truly comfortably but realizing that she lacked the personal power to be as effective as she wanted to be. With that in mind, Tiffany sought out other jobbers and pitched the idea of them working together to increase their profits to levels they never thought would be possible – creating the super crook team of Plunder, Inc.

Always viewed as the “brains” of the group, Tiffany displayed an impressive talent for planning heists and making sure the rest of the group were taken care of (helping them invest their ill-gotten gains to “clean” their profits, as well as making sure none of them went to jail). Now years later, Tiffany, now better known as Dragonfly, has a reputation for a skilled planner and leader as the members of Plunder, Inc. have barely spent any time in New Alcatraz.

Real Name: Kyle Tyler
Height: 5’10”
Weight: 200 lbs
Hair: Brown
Eye Color: Brown

Complications:
Motivation ~Greed: Kangadude just wants to make money.

Prejudice: Alpha criminal.

Relationships: Kangadude is friends with the other members of Plunder, Inc.

Reputation: Kangadude is known for being kind of an idiot (for example - he once took the $1,000 he stole and bought every scratch off ticket at a corner store for a $1,200 payoff [yes he got arrested because of this]).

Background: Kyle Tyler had always been a carefree and easy going kind of guy, not a bad person by any means but he never was really all that motivated to be a responsible fellow. If he could cut a corner to get what he needed done he would do it without a second thought. This is why Kyle was delivering pizzas at the age of twenty-one and still living in the basement of his parent’s house.

However, Kyle’s life took a radical turn one night when he did a late-night delivery to one of Noxxor Industries labs. Making his way through the darkened halls Kyle misread the door number and walked in on an experiment involving radioactive isotope which exposed him to a nearly lethal dose. In the hospital Kyle discovered that his accident had triggered the manifestation of his Alpha abilities. Already possessing a questionable morality, Kyle quickly decided to use his newly gained powers to embark upon a life of super crime, however his laid-back attitude and preference for simple robbery kept him on the lower end of the spectrum of super villains, not that that really bothered Kyle, he just wanted money.

It wasn’t until Dragonfly reached out to Kyle and a few other profit motivated criminals to form Plunder, Inc. that that Kyle really started to have any real success in his criminal ventures. For Kyle the goods times are rolling, and he intends to enjoy them for all they are worth.

Real Name: Brett Kincaid
Height: 5’10”
Weight: 181 lbs
Hair: Blonde
Eye Color: Blue

Complications:
Motivation ~Greed: Combustor just wants to make money.

Prejudice: Alpha criminal.

Relationships: Combustor is friends with the other members of Plunder, Inc.

Background: Brett Kincaid thought he had his life on track – he’d graduated from Firefighter school, gotten hired on the NYFD and had been on the job for just over a year when he found himself trapped in a burning building when responding to a call. Surrounded by the flames and smoke something deep inside Brett welled up and protected him, he didn’t understand what was happening to him, but he happily walked out of the building without any injury.

However, his appearance of being set aflame was enough to cause bystanders and his fellow firefighters to think he was a newly empowered Alpha that had caused the fire for some reason, and they tried to apprehend him. This quickly went bad for them as Brett instinctively used his powers to defend himself and escape from the scene.

Now labeled a dangerous Alpha criminal, Brett had few options left open to him and he soon turned to super crime to support himself. The fact that he possesses one of the more commonly feared types of powers but uses it “responsibly” (doesn’t cause uncalled for collateral damages, never tried to hurt bystanders) even when he fights against self-appointed super heroes brought him to the attention of Dragonfly when she was scouting out potential members for the team he was trying to put together.

For Brett, he views his membership as a practical matter – the other members help to keep him from being in jail and over the years he has grown close with a few of the other members of Plunder, Inc.
Artist is unknown, but if anyone does know please let me know (via PM) so I can give proper credit.

Motivation ~Greed: Goo just wants to make money.

Prejudice: Alpha criminal.

Relationships: Goo is friends with the other members of Plunder, Inc.

Background: When Gordon Johnson’s Alpha abilities first manifested, he spent over a week as a puddle in his living room before managing to resume his humanoid form. Despite gaining control over his powers, Gordon's body was still composed of a slime-like substance, and he knew he'd never be able to have a normal life. Thus, beginning the super criminal career of Goo, the grossest crook you'll ever meet.

Goo spent several years pulling off all kinds of minor robberies, more concerned with making sure his basic needs were taken care of rather than wanting to take over the world or get revenge on someone for some wrong done to him. While Goo was successful in his endeavors, he was considered to be a “jobber” by his peers, and thus looked down upon to some degree. That is until he was contacted by Dragonfly to become part of the group she wanted to put together, which ended up becoming Plunder, Inc.

While Goo doesn’t need much, he does enjoy having the kind of money he’s been making as a part of Plunder, Inc as well as the friendships he has developed over the years since joining the group. It almost makes him feel normal, and when you’re a human sized wad of whatever he is, that matters.

Prejudice: Alpha criminal.

Relationships: Reflecta is friends with the other members of Plunder, Inc.

Temper: Reflecta has problems controlling her anger.

Background: Eva McLintock was empowered by the Ahriman Wave, somehow she was merged with pieces of a mirror in her house. Eva's personality was changed by the empowerment - she went from being a law-abiding secretary to an aggressive Alpha who wished to use her abilities however she pleased, which typically involves her forcibly taking some valuable or another that did not belong to her.

Despite her tendency to be a bit too violent sometimes, Dragonfly realizes that Reflecta is at heart a thief. She just wants her payday and nothing more, and that was something the elder criminal could work with. Plus working alongside Reflecta while on a job gives Dragonfly the opportunity to actually moderate and channel her anger in a productive way.

For her part Reflecta enjoys having the support the rest of Plunder Inc. provides her and the increase in her profits are greatly enjoyed.

Motivation ~Greed: Splinter just wants to make money.

Prejudice: Alpha criminal.

Relationships: Splinter is friends with the other members of Plunder, Inc.

Background: When Eric Dale manifested his powers he decided that his best option was to use them to rob others, but that was the extent of his criminal goals. He did not want to rule over others, run his criminal empire, or anything like that; he just wanted to make large amounts of money, nothing more.

That mentality led to Eric being labeled as a “jobber” by his peers, but not everyone in the super crook community looked down on him for his simplistic criminal goals. In fact, Dragonfly respected the fact that Eric just wanted to increase his own finances and nothing else. It was a way of thinking that she could easily understand and wanted for the group she was planning on putting together – Plunder, Inc. After hearing the other crook’s pitch, Eric agreed to join as he liked the idea of making more money than he already was and having others to watch his back in case some random hero showed up to stop their robbery was definitely a good thing.

Complications:
Motivation ~Greed: Luchasaurus wants to make money, and is willing to break the law to get the large sums he wants.

Motivation ~Revenge: Luchasaurus seeks to prove he is better than the hero la Lagartija.

Prejudice: Criminal Alpha.

Background: Austin Devlin had always been involved with sports growing up; from track and field, basketball, football and even gymnastics. In fact he did so well that he earned himself a scholarship to college, choosing to go to the University of Texas. While there Austin discovered Lucha Libre and became fascinated by the athleticism the wrestlers displayed.

During the summer Austin joined a training program and quickly impressed the teachers with both his physical size, conditioning and dexterity as he stood over six feet tall and was able to perform the high flying moves his smaller peers were able to do. As a result, Austin was pushed through the program; given a mask and the ring identity of Drago, he played a monstrous humanoid dragon character. Again, Austin's unique physical attributes drew large amounts of attention from the fans.

Fame quickly followed, and like so many other young men, it went to Austin's head. He soon developed a backstage reputation for being difficult to work with, but his employers overlooked it due to the money Austin was bringing in for them. When the Cartel forced their way into a partnership with Reino de Campeones de Lucha to launder their ill-gotten gains, Austin was among the wrestlers who enjoyed the increase in money they received to buy their silence. He supplemented this by sometimes acting as a part-time enforcer for the Cartel.

When Miguel began to cause problems for the Cartel, they tasked Austin with making an example out of him. Already jealous of the other man's fame, Austin readily agreed and beat Miguel within an inch of his life. That had the unforeseen side effect of causing Miguel to manifest his Alpha abilities, which he would use to force the Cartel out of the Reino de Campeones de Lucha as the hero the Lizard. During that time Austin squared off against Miguel again but this time Austin lost and was arrested along with several members of the Cartel.

Months later the Cartel got Austin released from prison and they offered to empower him so that he could defeat Miguel once again. Seething over his imprisonment Austin agreed and within days he was in a lab being injected with a serum and exposed to a specific wavelength of radiation that granted him superhuman strength and resistance to injury. Dubbing himself Luchasaurus, Austin attacked Miguel and fought him to a near stalemate, but the other man's experience gave him the edge over Austin.

However, this time Austin managed to avoid a second stint in prison thanks to his criminal benefactors. Over the following years, Austin has repeatedly fought the Lizard with varying degrees of success. Although he did sever his ties to the Cartel as they tired of his inability to totally defeat the hero. Now their fights are more a matter of pride for Austin, he is determined to get a clear-cut victory over his rival and will take any job offered that will allow him a chance to do so.

Artist unknown, if anyone does know who is responsible please let me know (via PM) so I can give proper credit.

Real Name: Miguel Gutiérrez
Height: 5'6"
Weight: 176 lbs
Hair: Black
Eye Color: Brown

Complications:
Enemy: Luchasaurus, the Cartel.

Local Hero: La Lagartija is beloved by the people of Mexico City.

Motivation ~Responsibility: La Lagartija believes he should use his skills and powers to help others.

Secret Identity: La Lagartija conceals his identity as Miguel Gutiérrez to protect his family and friends.

Background: Miguel Gutiérrez, the man who would become La Lagartija was the son a very popular técnicos luchador in Cosio, Aguascalientes, Mexico who was known for his great acrobatic skills known as El Fantasma (the Phantom). On Miguel’s fourteenth birthday, his father took him to the gym he owned and began training the boy in lucha libra and Miguel discovered that he possessed a natural talent for the acrobatics involved.

By the time he was twenty, Miguel had been wrestling professionally for a few years and was considered by many of his peers to be a rising star in the business and was well on his way to becoming a household name in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico. Then the Cartel became interested in using the wrestling promotion as a money laundering operation and they soon forced their way into the business, quickly funneling thousands of dollars through the company. Like so many of the other wrestlers, Miguel was unaware of the Cartel’s involvement but when he did the young man became a vocal opponent to it. So much so that other wrestlers began to voice their own concerns on the matter and talk began about several high-profile wrestlers leaving the promotion in protest.

It did not take long for Miguel to become selected by the Cartel to be used as an example of what could happen if too many questions were asked to the other wrestlers – left badly beaten and bloody just a few blocks from his apartment, Miguel was forced to spend months recovering from the attack. What he did not tell anyone was the fact that the attack had caused him to manifest Alpha abilities that granted him enhanced strength, stamina, agility, dexterity and regenerative abilities. Miguel spent his recovery learning his new physical limits in secret while deciding to use his abilities to help the people of his home Ciudad Juárez.

Over the following years Miguel became known as the hero La Lagartija (the Lizard), and has fought a number of street gangs, members of the Cartel, their Alpha enforcers the Death Triangle, as well a several super criminals who sought to terrorize or rob the general public. His most persistent opponent has been Luchasaurus, a man with ties to Miguel’s past having been a lucha libra wrestler who had no objections to working with the Cartel and in fact was the man responsible for that attack that empowered Miguel and was the first people Miguel fought as La Lagartiua. He ended up in prison but was enlisted by the Cartel as one of their first attempts to create an Alpha that would work for them – granted superhuman strength and resistance to injury Luchasaurus would present a serious challenge and threat to Miguel over the course of his heroic career.

At this point Miguel has begun to settle down in his personal life - getting engaged to his long-time girlfriend, Blanca Villanueva, as well as having worked his way into the position of director of talent for the Reino de Campeones Lucha Libre (Kingdom of Champions Wrestling) wrestling promotion based in Juárez while maintaining his responsibilities as La Lagartiua.

Re: The T-Verse (Earth 75): My Trip To MCU at COSI

Post by Tattooedman »

So one of my Christmas gifts this year was tickets to the MCU exhibit at COSI, which I only live about an hour away from. So this past weekend my wife & I went to go see it.

Now, for me as a lifelong Marvel Comics kid growing up & a retired comic nerd at this point, I didn't learn anything new at all. Don't get me wrong, there are very nicely done mini-movies & story-plaques that share numerous tales about how Marvel really emerged as the superhero comic maker back in the day. My wife on the other hand, learned A LOT (as she knows NOTHING about this subject...I know, why she married me is something I wonder about sometimes too). That said, I still enjoyed the exhibit a great deal as there are LOADS of things from the various MCU movies there to stare at & take pictures of.

Image
This comic history shared for Cap is great, tons of details about how he was published and how it was related to keeping Marvel going during WWII.

Image
Just insane amounts of details done on these pieces. I spent at least 5 minutes a piece looking them over (and more in some cases, like the shield).

Image
I mean this "battle damaged" version of the Iron Man armor was insanely intricate, I spent almost 15 minutes going over it. Unfortunately, the other armors I'd taken pictures of didn't turn out as well (way too much shine from the display lights on the cases they were in).

Image
Again, the history of the characters on display was top notch. I really can't say enough good about how well it was done. Covering from their first appearances in the comics (and yes they covered both of Winter Soldier's debuts [as Bucky & the Winter Soldier]).

Image
Image
Image
Image
But seriously, look at these costumes and the fine details that have been put into them. It's unreal in a way.

Image
They also list what the costumes are made of - I can't remember it all but most of it are materials that do not breath well and looked like they would be heavy to wear after a few hours. I mean, look at that headpiece....no wonder Catherine Blanchett ran around for most of the movie without it.

Image
The same for Tom Hiddleston not wearing the Loki helmet that much in the movies.

Image
The display is very up to date - including things from Disney's Wanda/Vision

Image
And Hawkeye show, although there was no costumes unfortunately.....(which bummed me out as he's my favorite Avenger).

Image
They even had a little bit for Daredevil (I suppose because it's been confirmed that Charlie Cox will be playing him in the MCU officially, not that I mind. He was great in that role).

Image
My only real complaint is that Black Widow's stuff was limited to just the Avengers movies & not her solo flick.

Image
There was even a few things about the X-Men, nothing about the movies specifically and was more focused on the comics side of them. But it does show that Marvel is going to be doing something with them in the MCU, so I'm kinda excited for that.

Image
And of course, there was tons of stuff about Spider-Man. Now the costume for the latest movies were on display but there was a large amount of written information about the other 2 sets of movies.

Image
Even the villains get some attention too.

Then there are some old school types of things to take pictures with.
Image
I mean the size scale on these things are just awesome. The Thing "feels" like he's the right height you would imagine him to be sitting right next to him (just to give everyone an idea of the size of everything here, I'm 6'1", and he's leaning back "asleep" on the couch). The picture doesn't show it but the "window" ran a looped video of various FF related characters popping by - Galactus walking by in the very back, the Silver Surfer stopping by to wave hi, Spider-Man webbing into view upside down to wave as well & Dr. Doom on a hover platform to menacingly shake a fist at Richards.

Image
The amount of detail is just out of this world to boot. Black Panther here has an insane amount of detail concerning his muscle tone and whoever sculpted it did an excellent job giving him a "sense of movement" in his pose if that makes sense to anyone.

Image

This one was just fun to see as a long time Spider-Man fan, but I could live without the spotlight.

So overall I would highly recommend that if you're able to, check out the exhibit. Definitely worth the cost (because you have to pay the entry fee to COSI & another fee for going through the Marvel exhibit. Although you can go through any of the other exhibits they have for free as normal [which we did - the dinosaur one is great!]).

Yeah it was super cool. Plus there were actual pieces of art from various related comics (all done in the various stages of being worked - from basic pencils, inking and finishing). They just did not photograph well because of the display cases, as I tried for a solid 10 minutes on a couple of them before finally giving up.

Not sure anymore- I remember it being like 20-30 base price plus probably more for the thing. I did a Star Wars one and a dinosaur one in the past.

I do kind of regret not going a BIT. Like you, I’d gain little new info, but the props in Star Wars were neat. I just kind of intended to sometimes but never got around to it.
