Alicia was a clinical psychologist and a partner in a large clinic with things only looking up but she also had a secret…. She was the superhero Dreamweaver. She had assumed the superhero guise after coming into possession of a pendant that was crafted to honor Somnus, the god of sleep in the Greek mythology. Dreamweaver made an impact on the streets while Alicia made an impact in the courtroom and on the therapy couch. But that was all going to change.
Alicia was working on a case involving a psychopath, "Angel Carter" who allegedly attacked and mutilated a young girl. She had interviewed Angel and had testified in court to his psychopathic and sociopathic tendencies. The jury came back with as a hung jury. They could not decide "beyond a reasonable doubt" that Angel had committed the act. After seven more hours of deliberation, a not guilty verdict was returned. Alicia was shocked. The judge even admitted surprise to the verdict. This was the first step in a path that would change Alicia's life forever.
Something that nobody realized was that Angel had "fallen in love with" Alicia, and in his mind, she loved him. So one night after he had been released, Angel paid Alicia a visit. He broke into her house and attacked her while she was asleep. Her pendant was on the cabinet beside her... just out of reach. Angel raped her and then slashed her face with a knife. This act blinded Alicia. In a last fit of rage, Alicia was able to fight off Angel and he fled. Alicia was shattered and her spirit collapsed. Dreamweaver would be no more. Alicia was discovered by a co-worker only after she did not show up for work the following day. Alicia was in the hospital for almost two weeks. She returned to a world of terrible memories. She located her pendant and in hopes that it would cure her she put it around her neck. Dreamweaver was brought to life... but there was a problem. The mind that controlled the powers was in turmoil and so the powers went wild. The backlash ripped through the fabric of Alicia's very being. She quickly pulled the pendant off and stored it away. Alicia soon learned the effects of the backlash. She was changing and with the changes, new powers emerged. She seemed to have the ability, that if she concentrated, she can tell if somebody is lying to her. Another chnage was that she has also gained a low level of telepathy. Alicia returned to work and gradually rebuilt her new life. Then the next piece fell into place.
One evening when Alicia was listening to the news she heard of another woman that had been attacked in her bed and had been slashed up. That woman did not survive. Alicia felt an icy knot formed in her stomach and she knew what had to be done. She dug the pendant out of storage. Once again she donned it. When Dreamweaver activated, it was different. Her mind had changed and so had Dreamweaver. The elaborate flowing cloak had been replaced by a black armored bodysuit. She now wore a long flowing long-coat that buttoned at the waist but opened freely down to almost the floor. Around her head was a white blindfold that covers her eyes. Her weapons of choice have also changed. Her sword that she had carried as Dreamweaver, has broken down into a variable "pool" that Alicia can reform into almost any weapon that she sees fit. She is particularly fond of dual "pistols" that she uses with un-nerving accuracy. The pistols emit pulses of Shadow Energy. Alicia also uses a sword and set of scales. The scales are thrown like a bolo that entangles the target. Another change is that she no longer takes on a more masculine form, instead she just gets stronger but retains her feminize qualities.
The greatest change that occurred is that Alicia discovered that the "Shadow Stuff" that she uses is actually alive and has a telepathic link with her. When not in "combat mode" the "Stuff" takes the form of a large black dog / wolf that is totally black except for it's red-hued eyes. She uses it as a seeing eye dog; sometimes causing alarm in people. It's name is Max.
With these new changes in place, Alicia, now called herself Justice and went after the man that had taken so much from her. JUSTICE caught up with Angel at a bar in the downtown region. She tracked him for a few nights. Waiting until Angel made a mistake... and he did. Angel had followed a young woman home from the bus stop. He followed her to her house and waited until he saw her get into the shower. Unknown to Angel, he was not the only person waiting. Just as Angel entered the house, a black blur moved across his path. A muffled scream escaped the darkness. The police found Angel's battered body on the doorstep of their downtown precinct. A note attached to him stated that "Justice has been served".
Alicia / JUSTICE took a few weeks to adjust to the new her. She returned to work and now continues to council people who have been victims of violent crimes. She also underwent some plastic surgery, which has eliminated the scar on her face, but she is forever blind.

This character was originally built in the 90's... the Iron Age is rather apparent.

I was drawn to the idea that her powers are sentient and that when not in use, they form a large black wolf that she uses as a "seeing eye dog."

When I say Dire Wolf.... They were real and they were rather large.

My son accused me of making a Dare Devil clone... Alas, if a person is blind, then they are automatically "Dare Devil". If they wear Power-Armor, they are "Iron Man".

Here is another example of 80's cartoons that doubled as a 30-minute commercial for a toy line.... and I LOVED IT!!!

M.A.S.K. is an acronym for Mobile Armored Strike Kommand. One of the gimmicks for the show was that each character wore a helmet/mask that had a unique ability... unless it was Spectrum.. and that mask did it all!!! M.A.S.K. was led by Matt Trakker.

Their sworn enemies were V.E.N.O.M. which was an acronym for Vicious Evil Network Of Mayhem, led by Miles Mayhem.

The back story is that Miles Mayhem and Andy Trakker (Matt's brother) were working together on the mask technology. Miles wanted to use the tech for his own power-hungry desires and Andy wanted to help the world. Miles betrayed Andy resulting in Alex's death. Miles took half of the built tech and their plans and fled. Matt Trakker swore to stop Miles and so took his tech and created the M.A.S.K. team.
That is the the basic background.

Each character had a primary vehicle and mask, but that did not stop different characters from swapping around the vehicles a little. Matt Trakker had multiple different masks. Each mask had a special ability either offensive or defensive. Of course, since this was an 80's cartoon... even the most destructive weapon never killed anyone. Their vehicles were designed to look like regular vehicles (or crates) and then with the flip of a switch, convert into a combat vehicle... or a boat.. or a submarine... or a command center... You get the idea. The toy line had some great designs that really worked well. The push of a button and they popped open or unfolded into a cool vehicle... Some obviously better than others.


This was classic 80's commercial entertainment at it's best.

OK... here is the first character for my M.A.S.K. builds. I am wrestling with the design for the vehicles, as throughout the series, the characters hopped into other vehicles at times and some of their masks changed between vehicles... I'm looking at you Matt Trakker!!!

I opted to build the character and the vehicle separately and then "hand wave" the character to the vehicle. This would allow different characters to jump between vehicles.

It has been ages since I built characters, so any feedback would be greatly appreciated. CONDOR to follow.

Cool! I've always been interested in M.A.S.K. since I saw the copter/motorbike toy as a kid at the YMCA's daycare area, and when I heard the theme for the first time as a teenager, I LOVED it! Naturally it's considered possibly the best theme song of the era.

Here is A build for CONDOR... the first M.A.S.K. toy I obtained. I designed it as "Equipment" rather than a group of powers. This allows for the characters to use different characters and also represents vehicles better.

Ah, a submarine/motorcycle was the villain counterpart to the bike/copter? Not bad. I remember these toys being quite tiny- it's impressive they got as much transformative stuff in them as they did.

They did have a lot of functional detail for the size. The toys were built to fit purchase point slots. You could buy a motorcycle, or a truck, or a bigger vehicle and then the main players of course.

For some reason, the "transforming" aspect of the toys always appealed to me. The same with actual Transformers.

I think it just comes down to the fact that kids like toys that DO stuff. It's an extra avenue of play.

This is one of the combat systems that dreamed up. (Hence no picture)

This is the "ground fighting" system for Amber Terror. The look of the suit is a black and purple coloration that matches the combat exo-frame of Amber. This weapon system is Amber's ability to engage targets in ranged and close-combat while being able to move quickly around the battlefield.

The system has leg extensions that enhance Amber's own natural speed, giving her bounding strides to run at up to @ 60 mph. Large claw-blades attach to her forearms giving her close combat capabilities. A shoulder-mounted head-tracking Gatling Laser gives her ranged combat abiities; working alongside of the Slayer Heavy Missle mounted on her back.

Hey, thank you for reviving your thread! I haven’t commented much here, but the M.A.S.K. builds are appreciated. Toy builds from that era bring back fond memories from back in the day.
