-Fallout looks an awful lot like Bane- a muscular guy in a mask and rebreather. He hails from the "Death Zone"- a desolate, radioactive wasteland between Polaria & Scorch. Nobody who enters its borders ever returns, and the Zone has not been active in plantetary politics for generations. Fallout is the quasi-leader, emerging from the Zone when the tournament was started. His stage, set over a toxic pit in the "Toxic Marsh", allows you to tear a hole in the grating beneath you, and your opponent can be dumped in, melting their body and leaving a green-stained skeleton. If he wins the tournament, he simply disappears without a word back into the Death Zone- the people, without anyone to guide them, engage in a "war that rivals the Mega Wars".

-Fallout has a spiky green skull-face gauntlet that lets him fire out tiny Multiattack slime balls, a toxic cloud of some kind (Cloud Area- not a normal thing in Fighting Games), and spin around a bunch. Defeating him nets you the "Toxic Quills", a more standard-issue blast- it's just some green spikes.

Yes, the women of Obsel are so militant they LITERALLY EAT MEN.

-Tempest, dressed in fishnets, a short haircut, and a bazooka thing over her shoulder, is your "Good Girl" character. She is actually the DAUGHTER of the deposed High Emperor, being created by committee to create the perfect human specimen- one that could control the air itself. She was a pampered princess, but fell in love with the man who would become Razor- when their affair was discovered, he was sent away and tortured by Talon- Tempest was told that he had attempted to usurp her, breaking her heart and convincing her never to trust anyone again. She became a master warrior as a result, and now considers herself the rightful heir to the throne. She has a downer ending, though- Tempest is revealed in her own ending to have been the murderer of the Emperor! However, the public lashes out against her for this- despite "fighting valiantly", she is seen chained up in the public square, about to be beheaded, and that's that.

-Tempest's stage, on the "Nimbus", is a floating one- it also unlocks the character Ratchet if, in the winning round, either player falls off the left side of the screen and you enter a code.

-Tempest is another female fighter, matching the size of Mirage, and thus has similar stats. Unusually, she has a move that does no damage- her "Tornado" actually causes people to rise up into the air, leaving them helpless against her next attack (usually a damaging uppercut). She bestows the "Wind Shield" if beaten.

-So of the game's six Secret Characters, Ratchet is the first I'll detail, and he's in fact a head-swap of Razor, sharing his claw hand and such. He is faced by defeating your opponent in a certain section of the "Nimbus" stage and entering a "Trash Talk" code. Ratchet is described as a mechanical construct designed by Nekron (the Final Boss) to be the perfect killing machine- a machine programmed with only thoughts of death and destruction. He is jealous and hateful of "soft mortals" he sees all around him, and revels in the destruction of all mankind. Though he is loyal to Nekron, he impatiently longs for the day he can execute his prime directive and just slaughter everybody.

-Ratchet shares Razor's body, and so uses his extending gauntlet move. He's pretty generic otherwise, but alters his stats significantly by virtue of being an artificial being.

-The bald, deformed Dimentia uses Tempest's body as a template. She is a demonic agent "chosen and mind-bent" by Nekron to do his bidding. She has a third eye which can use Psi-Powers (an electrical bolt). She can also use her psionic powers to subtly influence others from the safety of their demonic dimension, and is thus the most important of Nekron's agents, as she alters decisions and weakens alliances from beyond, leaving the Earth a mistrustful, deeply-divided place. She is reached in the Obsel desert- throw your Gauntlet and place yourself on a circular figure in the stage, then pick up your gauntlet- you will be teleported to Dimentia.

-Dimentia is the same sort of fighter most of the Secret Characters are, even having the same screw-weapon, but she uses an electrical bolt from her Third Eye and has a Subtle Mind Control power that works from beyond our dimension, making her a different sort of build despite that.

-Wraith also uses the Fallout body (but curiously adds some blue-colored spheres to the belt area), and has a different kind of masked head- a decayed-looking cyborg-style one. He is an "unreadable assassin" whom even Nekron cannot trust- he was recruited from the demonic rulers that governed the pocket dimension Nekron took over. Wraith turned his back on his people when it was clear Nekron was going to win. You can fight him from the "Scorch" battleground, entering a "Vulgarity" code after you win a match.

-Craniac is a head-swap of Talon, switching Lex Luthor's head for that of Brainiac's... okay, they HAD to know what they were doing with these two. Craniac is all in red, which is a much better look, and is a result of Nekron's lethal experiments. Nekron used his "techno-elemental power" to fuse the brain of a "Demon Stealth Assassin" with that of a techno-organic battle-suit. Craniac is thus a dangerous warrior assassin. His mission is to subtly influence tensions and raise suspicions between the Provinces by damaging goods & services. You face him in Razor's "Black Armada" stage- on this stage, you can jump to the platform in the background temporarily. After three times, Craniac will appear on the platform- jump back and you will fight him.

-As an assassin & saboteur, Craniac has a bigger skillset than most BloodStorm characters. He has two kinds of Blast (copying Nekron's "Big Bullet", as well as Talon's Cruise Missile), but doesn't seem to have a unique strike.

-Blood is the most distinctive of the Secret Characters- he's an entirely red figure (probably using the Freon/Hellhound body) whose head is just a gigantic spouting geyser of BLOOD! He's also the only one of the Secret Characters not to use a screw-shaped gauntlet, but copies Nekron's giant spiked mace. He is a "living robot" created by Nekron from living components (so... a Frankenstein's monster), but needs a huge amount of blood to function properly. Blood has been programmed only to fight and kill, and has no mind of his own. Blood can be fought on any background- you need to have a perfect round, then win the match- the dead opponent will then EXPLODE, revealing Blood!

-Blood is a standard PL 8 opponent, shooting either a Big Bullet or a Fireball (Hellhound's attack).

He is another Frankenstein creation, being sculpted from the rotting carcasses of the demons Nekron had killed. His mission is to seek a passageway that allows Nekron to return home. He is found in Tremor's "Subterra" stage- simply knock down a hanging stalactite and follow it down a hole in the stage's floor

-Okay, SHADOW's a dangerous one. This is one of the only Fighting Game opponent's I've ever seen who is invisible ALL THE TIME. An absolute gamebreaker in a fighter where you have to see where your opponent is at all times. You can always see his round "shadow" on the bottom, so you at least know his relative position, but it's a huge disadvantage. He only appears briefly when struck or killed, revealing a black-costumed variant of Freon & Hellhound's body. He seems to have Razor's eyeshield, probably because he can also fire a laser beam.

-Shadow is a special agent of Nekron's who can focus light around his body, rendering him invisible. No one is sure who he is or where he came from, but some think he is a demonic bounty hunter who was found immediately after Nekron was formed by a Mega Bomb. To face Shadow, you must win 2-0 against any opponent without ever using the Block button, and do a Fatality on BOTH rounds. You are then transported to the Shadow World to fight him.

-Shadow is always invisible (Concealment) unless being hit or being killed. He copies Razor's Laser Beam as well, but I don't see any other special moves.

-Sin is a headswap of Mirage, sporting the same kinky outfit, but with a purple dominatrix mask and a white/gray ponytail sticking out. She is the only agent of Nekron's who was unchanged by his arrival in her dimension- she was a killer then and is a killer now. Uninterested in politics or power, she simply wishes to continue slaughtering anyone she can find. She rarely leaves her cherished "Chamber of Pain", where she eagerly tortures new victims to death. She is effectively a sort of "Sub-Boss", fought after defeating the other eight regular fighters. In her Chamber of Pain, the walls of the stage move inwards, potentially skewering you with spikes that burst out if you run out of time.

-Sin has the same screw-weapon as the other Secret Characters, and also throws the Twirling Beam, but also a Grenade. She can also use a long-range whip strike, which will go nearly all the way across the screen. A simple torturer, her build isn't that unique, but she's one of the few Secret Characters I saw with three separate Special Moves.

Sin is incredibly annoying to fight, and it's all mostly because of that time limit. The spikes close in and kill you when the round timer hits 33 seconds, so you have much less time than normal.

I would be curious to see a modern version of this game. However, I suspect that a lot of the excess of the game would not be permitted today.
